Simcity 2013 at one year.
SAGGG replied to Rufus Honker IV's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Too bad we can't be in the era of "let the modders give the players bigger maps offline and let them do what they want to with it as we don't care anymore because we're exhausted with this game." -
So now that the offline patch is live, are you modders making bigger maps?
SAGGG replied to nafeasonto's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
Throwing cold water on something (like our faces) means one puts a hard dose of reality on a situation after everyone builds up a sense of hope, sort of like a hard slap when someone is panicking with fear. You've basically implied there's absolutely no possibility we can ever get any bigger city tiles, even within the offline part of the game. Hence, you have cold water on your hands, or at least have said water cupped in your hands, ready to destroy all our dreams... -

CapTon, you have too much cold water on your hands... -

I was thinking if not bigger maps, then maps that could be placed beside existing map tiles and appear to make a city look bigger. Such maps could be named for example "Chestwick" as the main tile, then "East Chestwick" as another tile, and so on. From an overhead view, the city would look like a SC4 megacity. -
Ok now that offline is out how do we install mods to it?

Hm. I was able to use the new modded train station in my offline mode without downloading, so I'm assuming I can use the other mod created items as well... -

Then if that's the case, let EA create larger maps that can be downloaded for offline use, at least, even with a small fee. They can still be relevant in some other capacity... -
SimCity Offline Mode Discussion
SAGGG replied to Xenocity's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I'm guessing the mods are rubbing their hands together, cracking their knuckles, and hopefully will be making headway into getting those bigger city tiles... -
YES! Thanks also for the response about Banished...
-
Quick question: Does Banished change with the times, or does it stay in one era, that is, does it get technologically advanced, or something?

Simcity 2013 at one year.
SAGGG replied to Rufus Honker IV's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Bottom bottom line: Bigger maps are most indeedy needed to me, no offense. My hope in the upcoming offline mode is this will be fixed by modding, which is why I'm interested in playing SC2013 again. Everything else is secondary, and can be worked on methodically... -
Finally! Thanks for the update! CapTon should be very pleased like the rest of us!

Wow. Just. Wow. Based on my reading of some of your posts, I came to believe that you were one of the staunchest defenders of SC2013, and I'm not being sarcastic. You read as if even you've been forsaken. I'm thinking EA just might be testing to see if they can allow bigger city sizes in offline mode, or anything else, and are just making sure they can do so, along with allowing any modding that won't affect the boards, though I can't see why it would matter. I'm willing to wait another week or so to see what's up. I'm surprised no insiders here have conferred with any EA/Maxis people about the delay...

When I play SC2013, I have a tendency to if not change, then modify my city's name. I find the game's given names to cities to be silly. I like to at the least shorten the given name, i.e. "Contestanoga Crossing" to just "Contestanoga". I like to identify a city by just one name. It just seems to give it a personality. In real life, aren't most cities called by one name? Of course, you have the well-known ones that have more than one name, such as New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and such, but one just hits a personal note to me. What do some of you think?

I'm aiming for something around the first anniversary on SC2013's release on this newest update...

Mod Request: Gapfiller
SAGGG replied to Nicistarful's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
Does this eliminate those pesky blades of grass on the highways that lead out of and into cities? -

Can't see the forest for the--sorry, someone had to write it...

I wonder if they're waiting until the one year anniversary of SC2013 to do so...
-
Are you sure you don't mean SC2013? This is that forum, by the way. Either that, or you have the wrong one...
