Funnily enough I might have something to add here, that if we can locate it might help a little.........maybe......... I had a functioning game - no crashes (at least not for the last year or so) but some minor bugs that I couldn't find a solution for..... So - bright idea (NOT!) I decided it was time to clean up and reinstall as I had a bunch of stuff with no idea what it related to.......... Now my game crashes regularly. I don't think its a plugin as I have tested all of them one by one - twice. All of them are from reliable sources - or they are plugins I used before for more than a year. I have also checked prop packs etc The only thing I can't double check are traffic and data mods etc as that area isn't online here yet. I do remember however a thread on the "old" site that talked about game settings. Now if I can recall correctly there were optimum settings for graphics etc. I know that fixed my crashing problems when I first installed my game a few years ago. Now of course if I had remembered that and written them down b4 I reinstalled...............well I would know if it worked. Anyhow - I can't find the thread that was on........ Anyone remember? Could be a sloution for some of us...........

Citynut, Shedd Aquarium is very nice - just one little issue........... I can't get the query to work. I am sure I have all the latest of the dependancies. No-one else seems to be reporting this so I don't know if its just me? -

Barby, Thanks for the suggestion - it was the one thing I hadn't tried. I managed to get the bonus file I wanted. Now the only files missing are a section of Simgoober's that winzip keeps telling me have a corrupt file. Those I am locating on the STEX right now. Thanks again

Date: 8/17/2005 4:35:11 PM Author: dirk Hey guys, appreciate the feedback! Our intention was to include as much of the dependencies as possible -- but with the MASSIVE amounts of dependency packs out there, they would literally take up the entire cd themselves -- we miscalculated that part. Instead, we provided exhaustive links directly to the dependency file in question. I hope that's a suitable compromise, in exchange we have all that much more space to fill with the good stuff. There ARE plans to release a DVD edition, IF there is enough interest in it, and we can certainly include much more files and all the dependencies. As for those who are having problems accessing your CDs, it sounds like there may be some bad burns on those discs, I have sent you both a PM and Email with instructions on how to get a replacement. Cheers! quote> Dirk, Thanks for the CD - arrived in NZ yesterday. I managed to get a lot of the files I wanted, but a few persistantly locked up however I tried........... I got variously; page not found, explorer non response & shut down and on the CD browser it kept telling me to switch..........and wouldn't budge. I wouldn't worry as most of them are available on the STEX anyway...........but one was one of the bonus files. darn! Btw - is brilliant and even with the few files I can't get - well worth the money!

Okay. About 1 third of the time I get maps that don't want to render - they just ignore me. e.g. Radiant Heart Land, Aiyana Island. I searched and found out that I am supposed to check the the jpeg file is greyscale not RGB. I have a really stupid question - how do I know? I have no idea how to use whatever paint program is on my pc (ignorant huh!) I did open the radiant heart jpeg - its a grey colour........ hmmmm my ignorance is really showing! I have had this problem forever, but usually don't have time to follow it up.....I just dump the map and find one that will load......... Thank goodness for Easter and a proper break for once! Help!! All input appreciated!!
