But obviously this highway project would be less for optimum in game efficiency and more for city realism.

Since folks have found a way to transition highway traffic underground (see big dig project), perhaps this could be used to carry one direction of traffic (underground) while the opposite direction moves above ground. Possible?

I've developed a strange issue. All of the sudden, I can't seem to get any R$$$ houses to grow. In my test city, I've lowered high wealth tax rates to zero. I've layed out some 3x3 and 4x4 low density res surrounded by grass parks, which in my other maps was a sure fire way to get high wealth houses. Land value, education, health, and commutes, water, power, etc are all about as good as they get, and demand for all classes of Res, Ind, and Com is all very high. My res zones will sprout R$ and R$$ in seconds, but no R$$$. I've installed a number of bats recently, including the most recent NAM and the McMansions set, but could any of these have removed my R$$$ houses from the game?? Any help would be great! TIA

Just two words, holy, and crap.

You may be overlooking it if you're looking for all of the pieces in the menu. It's just one tile (should be second from the top), it looks like a standard rail piece with a sidewalk around it, you select this item and then use the tab key to rotate through the different GLR objects. If you aren't seeing that item in your menu, then you must be missing something, or you're putting it in the wrong folder.

I've never had luck with the leveling lots either. The easiest method I've found is to place a 3x CDK lot and let it lower the terrain to the required height. Then bulldoze the lot and place a single road tile on the center tile (the now level tile). Keep placing adjacent road lots around the edge of your harbor (don't connect them), each subsequent road tile will level the terrain you're placing it on to match the level of terain of the adjacent road lot. Good luck
