The more Maxis shows us, the more regret I have for pre-ordering. (First time I've ever pre-ordered anything!) IMO it is not looking like it is a 'better' SC4, but a totally different game. So anyone else out there with 'buyer's remorse'? Edit:July 24 - added a couple more options to the poll - I'm in the middle of trying to cancel my preorder now! -

Yes it sounds like you have something conflicting - remove everything from your C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins and try opening the game. If you still have the problem with an empty plugins folder - report back here. If the problem goes away after emptying your plugins folder, please read the readme for each file before you add it too your plugin folder. If you fail to read and follow the instructions, your game will crash.

Do you have anything running in the background. Antivirus, email, rss feed? I use Game Booster to shut all that stuff down when playing SimCity.

Yes that would be ok... but if you are packing for the first time - do check the Optimize space and Include only useful TGI option. If you are repacking then you would use all 3. PS Be very careful which files are packed. Packing the wrong files can cause undesired results. -

Don't pack your a_cam or Network Addon Mod. I wouldn't pack the Remove Maxis either. Only tick "Force Repacking" if you are repacking. Have you checked out WorkingMan Productions Download & Installation Catalogue? I find it makes using the Dat packer much easier. -
Further info required: What are you trying to do when it crashes? Plugins folder empty? Could be conflicting mods. Game updated? - what is your SimCity 4 version number?

Sheriff Stonewell ain’t the best at rithmatic and writin’ but he knew where your application was coming from and felt you had the talent to run New SorGun’s newest business venture. Congrats! Looking forward to the rum runners; I learned not too long ago my Grandfather and his brothers use to work off the west coast in the 1930's.

There has been some very good discussion here...this thread has been very enlightening. Wandered of topic a time or two; but has for the most part remained quite respectful. As a community we should be proud that we show respect to the very forum that lets us share our voices, voice our opinions, and learn from each other. We really are a Simtropolis, representing the diversity of the tiny blue planet we call home. Of course I have my own opinions about everything. but it has been eye opening to learn another's point of view. (There have been a few POV that I had never considered before... along with some that reflect my own.) When it comes to voting. Don't talk about why you can't - vote! Spoil your ballot if you can't vote for any of the above in good conscience - even spoiled ballots are counted! So many have given their lives so that their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren (you) could vote! ...just sayin'...

darxtar - that kind of crash can also be brought on when you have conflicting mods - usually terrain and or "God mode" trees. Have you tried starting with an empty plugins folder? -
Changing resolution without re-booting can cause this. :shrug:

Welcome to Simtropolis... We are cool - if you take the time to get to know us! This community is over 1/2 a million strong - and is approaching 76,000,000 downloads! As with any friendship it takes time to trust one another. When a member takes the time to explore the site before asking a question / dusting off a 3 year old thread, or starting a new topic, it garners more response / karma/ engagement. One thing I learned about this community after lurking for almost a decade- there is nothing that is more exciting / engaging than a new idea / problem / desire. So poke around, search, read, ask questions... this community truly is about helping those who want to help themselves... but no one here has all the answers. -

This begs the question of what is a 'consenting adult'. In my mind I was a 'consenting' adult at the age of 12 or 13. At that time I was flattered by the age of the person interested. The greater the age gap, the more 'respectable' I felt. To be honest, I finally felt like I might be a 'consenting' adult once I hit 42/43... but that was my learning curve. Looking back, I am highly embarrassed when I think of who I use to associate with and at some of the activities I engaged in... but at the same time I created lasting friendships with some very wonderful souls I doubt I would have ever met if my life had taken a different path.

Still in the closet after 40+ years - tho my brother has been out since he was 16. I've managed a some what successful hetro relationship for the past 10 years. Sometimes I feel guilty - not being honest with my partner - but at this point in my life, it's easier to 'sleep with the devil you know'. Being that most polygamists are usually one man /many women - I've always equated polygamy with having a mistress/mistresses that live with you and your wife. I agree with your idea of equal s.i.X.

Just checking you remembered to re-merge your Cam with the 'new' SimCity_1.dat. PS: The 640 is worth it. Every now and then I'll switch to night view just to enjoy scrolling around the tile looking at all the lights. (But I always 'build' on the day cycle.)
