  1. GTA V

I already got a new fav vehicle. the osiris. for the sake of damn good sounding (and for that matter probably good smelling) exhaust exhausts. altho I gotta say the pop n burble the sterling creates is real candy (to me at least who loves popcorn)
  2. can't get enough homework. it helps to fortify what you learned today and builds the foundation for what you learn tomorrow. luckily I barely made my homework back in the days so I could spend enough time playing sc4 ^^ still got me a univerity degree and made it thru pilot training... so what... fun aside, I think it really matters how long your school day is. I'm a spoiled german brat who had a regular schoolday somwhere from 8am to 2pm and maybe, just maybe once a week til 3pm. leaves enough room for homework imho at least to get another look at what happened today because this really helps to build the knowledge. looking at other countries where school times regularily equal those of a fulltime employee I really think homework should be kept at the very very .... very minimum, if any. they're still kids you know? not working drones in the making. and this not just in primary school
  3. who said you can't hit reset on life? works like a charm for me. a big bad venomous and utterly vile charm. but it works.

      Dazzyls

That means that when you get your time machine, you will have to give it back, becaus a time machine is something, which is a part of everything.

  6. Fallout 4

my first Fallout was New Vegas and I only bought because of the desert setting. played it quite a lot of hours but never really got connected. at a certain point all I did was cheating and fool around. sadly there was nothing that got me hooked, nothing that made me dive into the world and get in touch with the character, the npc and the story then I got Fallout 3 (which was quite a hassle) and it was pretty much the same old same old compared to my FO NV experience and I ended up with the same procedure, cheating and fooling around. from the teaser, I fear my FO4 experience will stay the same which means I won't play it. but I'll wait for further information on the game, maybe they come up with something that changes my mind

    3. MilitantRadical

      MilitantRadical

Well it's the Sith Code from KOTOR which you have to recite in the Dark Side test.

  9. did you download and install all the necessary dependencies? Also, can you rule out conflicting plugins?
  10. Elite: Dangerous

Anyone here playing Elite:Dangerous? I couldn't help but to finally give in to the urge of playing it and bought it yesterday. I'm maybe like 2hrs into the game right now and just getting used to the controls and gameplay and I'm already impressed beyond expectation. Time to earn some creds and get lost in the galaxy... literally.

  15. too much AC lately, but Syndicate really looks awesome

I stop playing AC after Brotherhood...

      MilitantRadical

AC games often look awesome. They rarely are.

    3. Dazzyls

      Dazzyls

@MilitantRadical: I think they put more work in their trailers than in the real game. The trailers often look like they're awesome, but the games are not, or at least less awesome.

  16. why is it that in scifi the good guys are most of the times totally ragtag while the bad guys are state of the art technology?

    1. MandelSoft

      MandelSoft

Technology is a tool. And tools are as useful as the people who control it. If you don't know how to use the tool properly, it won't be of much use...

      T Wrecks

Well, that symbol is ancient. Achilles' heel, the one remaining vulnerable spot on Siegfried's back where the dragon blood hadn't covered him... always the same story, told over and over to teach us the lesson that nothing is ever absolutely invincible. I guess it's meant as a warning to the powerful and as an encouragement for those who feel weak, oppressed, powerless, or just unremarkable.

  17. Show us your Airports!

holy sweet dayum jesus moly... this turns ORD, ATL, AMS and all the others into a rural airfield. 4 tile runways? makes a good 58 to 60 meters runway width minus the shoulders. that's a lot. a hell of a lot. Code F for sure. Cosidering realism, that's just what you need to operate an A380 due to outer gear track width and, more importantly, wing span (problem here, next to object separation minima, is the jet wash at takeoff power. narrow runway = more wing above dirt = most likely more engines above dirt = more dirt blown around = higher danger of FOD for following aircraft = lower capacity due to more checks for foreign objects on the runway) 747-8 is also an F category, but since the engines are at the same location as on the 747-400, category E is sufficient in practical use (45m runway width or 3 tiles)
  18. Show us your Airports!

noahclem your airport looks really cool so far. waiting for the final result Drack, that's one cool little airfield. surface looks grass to me tho. never seen green sand lol
  19. GTA V

stealing cars is so much more rewarding in the pc version (and afaik on xb1 and ps4) because there's also tuned cars roaming the streets and even cars that are unique in the ps3/360 version. yesterday for example I smashed so hard into a tuned turismo that was leaving ls customs on popular street under the olympic freeway... what I dislike tho is how you can't access the dlc vehicles from the garage anymore. also seems to be missing some cars, but maybe that's due to my game progress, just shy of 50% cuz I didn't have much time lately EDIT: and I don't like how the cars sound. feels totally different from what I'm used to from the ps3 and I feel some cars sound as if their soundfiles was the lowest quality mp3 available...
  20. GTA V

recent patch fixed a bit of my reducing performance issues. also, I force vsync via nvidia inpsector instead of ingame which also contributes to better fps. oh and a global trick to improve on the performance is to use task manager to set the game to high priority and the launcher to low priority. killing the launcher made the game unstable for me so I wouldn't root for this method. maybe I throw in a bit more details now that the game runs perfectly fine again just to see whats what. so far I've only reduced samplings and anti aliasing settings so I guess nothing much would change. not a fan of "too smooth" edges anyway. tends to get blurry rather than smooth imho still don't regret having bought the pc version on top of my ps3 title. with all the better shaders and lighting and of course better quaility models and higher environment details, especially in first persion view, this game feels so damn alive... a bit disappointed by the population density. even tho I got it maxed it still feels a bit empty. in fact, my guts tell me liberty city in iv had a much denser population on max settings...
  21. Announcing: Project Highrise (indie game)

I played and sorta liked 1849... Now you got my attention. I'm putting really really really much hope into this tower simulator
  22. GTA V

    that's what I'm guessing... I hope I'm wrong
  23. GTA V

latest nvidia drivers fixed the flickering issue for me (and probably most other ppl playing on nvidia) something that bothers me tho is that I have a feeling that with every new startup of the game, it gets laggier. at first play even before patch 1.01, I threw all the maximum details into the game and was fluent 99% of the times. 2nd play, it was a bit laggy so I toned down a bit til it ran smooth again. same issue on 3rd so again, a little reduction in quality. trend continued the 4th 5th 6th time and so on. It seems for now that I'm pretty much settled after the 7th time playing. yet it makes me wonder what'll happen in, say, 4 weeks, when this weird trend continues? I've actually never ever ran into something like this. in other news: a famous instagram theme recreated (and I don't exclude myself from this): sunrise/sunset in the rear view mirror
  24. I see what I do tomorrow
  25. GTA V

the interwebz is full of ppl complaining about terribly slow download speeds for both the preload version and the retail patch. Plus the updater issues. Anyways, after a combined 26h(!!) I was finally thru installation. couldn't fire up the game tho since I was at work and remote desktop gaming is a thing of the future. And since weather yesterday and today was way too good to be indoors I only kicked a few minutes here in there. Totally worth the wait. my first impression after finishing the introduction and getting to roam LS, the change in visuals from PS3 to PC feels - at least to me - about as dramatic as it was from san andreas to gta 4.. Ok, granted, the game bugged out on me right in the introduction as I suddenly was teleported outside above the map and I've already spotted a few flickering textures here and there, but on the bottom line I'm impressed. and lagless gaming at max details and full hd really works for me. at least in story mode. a short trip around town in online was a bit bumpy in a funny way as I was semi-warping around... maybe server load idk Now weather gonna be boo tomorrow so after a can of rest once my graveyard shift is over I'll dig deeper into the game
