There's a new Need for Speed title in the making, and it really feels like EA learns from mistakes: well then, since NFS: PS totally quit the street racing scene and screwed up with tuning, all the way back to a serious racing game, the sells figures kinda not met the estimations from EA. This, according to Frank Gibau from EA, happened because the game didn't met the expectations of the gamers (surprise surprise, something we didn't know that it happens to EA titles) The result: The next Need for Speed will be back to the roots of the NFS tuner games, means: - illegal street racing as in previous titles - free roaming environment as in previous titles - new game mode: Highway Battle well, nothing more on the new nfs so far, but I think this is a very very intersting news to tell. Is EA really learning? (if I take a look at recent news about EA, it feels like they changed their phylosophy)

now this game is truely over the top... country justice... dafuq?

I should enhance my list with literally everything they've ever released, especially their "simulation" titles.

are you sure thats the special edition? because your menu options are those of the regular edition of sc2000...

R* has just released a couple of new screenshots

I played toilet tycoon. nce you accept that the game is as nuts as the idea of playing it, it's fun for a while. taking a dump on pure gold thrones and whipe with satin... I bet there's a warlord somewhere in the third world that does the exact same thing. anyways, to me, the absolutely worst game ever is... uhm... well... good question. I'm tempted to say sc2013 because it's probably the worst gaming idea ever to take the perfect singleplayer game and violently force it into a multiplayer scheme just to have an excuse for always-online-drm to postpone it's inevitable scene-release by a month or two while literally slapping all the honest buyers with a hailstorm of unserviceability (did I just create that word?) and double-slap the core audience with another bucket of scorched dreams and excessive downscaling from the franchise's peak title sc4. but after all, once one accept that ea doesn't give a four-letter-word about the actual customer as long as they keep calm and pay, the game itself - despite the lack of everything - is actually quite enjoyable; too much for me to call it the worst game ever. porsche challenge somewhat forged itself into my mind as quite some wasted bucks tho.

am I the only one who thinks the amount of sc2013 patches is too damn high?
-
They need to patch the game so sims stop crying about how the rent is too damn high.
-
At least they're making an attempt to fix things. Remember, some developers provide hardly any post release support at all.
-
No. patches released by Maxis:
8 small ones.
No. patches released by the NAM Team:
none yet, working on one big darn package!
Just to put things into perspective
Both the NAM and the new game were rushed. However, we from the NAM Team can justify this with the reason that a lot of us had RL issues prior to the release and we don't do this for a job. As for Maxis, no excuses... - Show next comments 54 more

firsst, read what wikipedia says on game programming. there's not THE game code, it's just coding like any other program, sometimes with multiple languages to make handling of pure code and gameplay scripts easier. after that, pick your favorite language and look for tutorials online, I guess you'll find something. and now have fun climbing up the learning courve

Blame the people for not looking at games, not the console. so far so right, but it sure enough shows what people expect that console to do. nintendo barely has a recognition as a "real" gaming platform, more like a family friendly arcade-ish console. and the bad hardware specs upon release of the wii - which had the worst hardware of it's generation - did their part to push the wii even further away from where the 360 and ps3 are to both gamers and publishers. this seems to change with the wii u at the moment which is basically the first 8th gen console, but it shows that nintendo somewhat lags one generation behind, as the wii u can at best be compared to afore mentioned 7th generation giants 360/ps3... which will be last generation by this years holiday season

I'm wondering... has anyone ever seen the end of the minecraft-world? like, the world is basically a horizontal plane and even tho it covers an area bigger than the surface of the earth, it has to end somewhere and I'm asking myself, is it an invisible wall or can you fall off or what?

saw this pic and immediately had to think about this thread: which basically sums up my thought of dlc and microtransactions for non-online games (which is, in short, I think that many publishers abuse our nowadays internet capabilities to do what the picture says)

Administrators on this forum too efficient with the closing of threads!
GMT replied to nats's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
nuff said it's an unfortunately very very common misbehavior around forums worldwide to just go ahead and start a new topic for every thought that crosses ones mind, irrespective of equally aligned topics already existing. dunno if this is lazines, a form of ignorance or even worse, attention craving. we don't need 29834 threads telling how sh...tty EA or SC2013 is, nor do we need an equal amount of threads that say the contrary. and I don't even go into the occasional flaming attempt with captian capslock in the thread title and lots of foul language and all the !!!!11oneoneelevens at the end neither do we need that on any other repetitive topic. do/don't like it? that's fine. wanna tell the world about it? go ahead. but keep it polite and, more important, where it belongs. and if I'd include all the thread hijacking going on, mainly in the SC2013 section, this text would go on forever. if a thread is about regional trade it's about regional trade, not about tile sizes, stupid EA, bad SC3013 or "I don't buy it"... neither is it about the great graphics, nice gameplay, new chances for the franchise,... I know you never stay 100% on topic and personal conversations always wander off, but that's not compareable to forums. if I start reading a thread about regional trade in SC2013 I want to read about this for the entire thread and not 3 posts about this and then 234 posts about unrelated chitchat to my likings, there could be even more such actions taken, especially around the non-sim city subforums, just to be honest. -

In the wake of tonights supposedly near miss of another hulk from outer space, an unscheduled visitor came to taste some vodka: http://edition.cnn.com/2013/02/15/world/europe/russia-meteor-shower/index.html?hpt=hp_t1 quite strange nobody saw this coming...
-
gonna get it. I must admit, I'm a PS fanboy since day one. plus there's a handful of exclusives I totally love.
-
@10^13: go ahead and replace the airport grass texture with the sand texture used for the terrain mod. 5 minutes work and a much better result than picture editing

So, who is calling in sick on release day?
GMT replied to Towel's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Last game I caught right on release, got it handed out bout 7am even before it was placed at the shelves at our local 6am-9pm wholesales store (lucky me, all other stores open much later and I'm holding an access licence to this store), and I was cool enough to wave it around school "look I got it already beeegeeees" ... was GTA4 and tbh, this game (sc2013) can't hype me enough to pull that off again, the downsides surmount the positive aspects for me. got myself SC4 and later on Rushhour on release day aswell... freaking 10 yrs ago... as for the opening question: no this game won't affect anything at all. after all, sim city never was a blockbuster franchise and most certainly never will be one. the niche is too small and even within, the new title is a bit of a controversy. not to mention that thing called sanity, students could afford skipping for a game, but employees? -
some are really cool, but most of them work to hard against the terrain imho. btw, matt, that's awesome work on these lots, love the custom foundation idea
