Release: Tall California Palm Trees - 7 Variations
Jahnri replied to Shroomblaze's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Man those are impressive! I dont even have the game and I like them! -
I want to join!

I sure hope to get around most of the area. I plan on at least a 3 day trip to the Grampians. The geology of Victoria just fascinates me compared to the West coast of america. A lot of similar volcanic terrain, but the plants and animals are so different and amazing. The last time I was there I went along the road to Apollo Bay and simply couldnt believe the diversity.

Great map! I plan to go to the Grampians in October with my girlfriend.

Origin: SimCity 2000™ Special Edition 'On The House'

Still better then steam Man, after playing for a few hours, I forgot how much more fluff there was in Simcity 2000. LOVE the newspaper. -
Origin: SimCity 2000™ Special Edition 'On The House'

What a game. Really enjoying playing it. It was one of those inspiring games that changed my perspective of people, society and structure more then any class. -
So , I just bought Simcity 2013 and most everything is working fine after I moded it. Save for Akar. I took into consideration which mods are incompatible with Akar and I installed the mod files into the appropriate folders. I did a clean game, saved, quit and reloaded. Nothing shows up. Any clue what mite be causing this issue?

Project Akar Install Issue
Jahnri replied to Jahnri's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
No, I got it directly from the STEX. Its rather perplexing. Ive done several clean installs and to no avail. -
Project SUGCAM - We're (sort of) Rolling!
Jahnri replied to TheCraftKid's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
I really hope you can complete this project I always figured agriculture, lumber and fishing could be a source of happiness and a alternative to Industry. At the very least acting as a sink for Light industry. Lumping Agriculture, Lumber and Fishing into one specialization called Natural Resources could in theory act as a alternative to industry. In anycase I am looking forward to seeing your progress. Best of fortunes!- 24 Replies

I am having some issues with installing this mod. I installed all of the files that needed to be in the SimcityData and SimcityUserData, unzipped and only some of the mod items are showing up. None of the the Akar interface is showing up and none of the plop buildings at this point. Everything else is working just fine. Ive saved a game, quit completely and reloaded. Still no Akar interface. Any clue whats up? Note: Fixed the issue. It was due to a pathing issue. Part of origins was installed on one HD and another on my main. Its glorious now that it works!

Why a former BAT architect hates this game
Jahnri replied to Cobb32118's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yet it still stands with the right tools and a increased map size we could effectively put most of the issues at rest. The game isn't limited by anything but lack of access to tools. I imagine the mod community could work out the issues of the AI even with time. Since after all our needs and desires aren't necessarily those of the developers. Thats the beauty of community development. Put a game in its community hands and it cant help but be what they wanted. Minecraft really pushed that as did so many other games. Only time will tell if Simcity can achieve that. -
PA: EA earned hatred with poor games, lack of vision, and contempt for the audience, not homophobia
Jahnri commented on Freddyeddy's article in News
Sigh. They really have lost it. As much as I love Simcity, even in the state it is, I can't ignore the stupidity of EA. They literally lost there marbles. -
Can curved road layouts survive?
Jahnri replied to AusQB's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
You can definitely have curved road cities which run well. However there is a much lower population cap when compared to a grid. All well and good in my opinion. My main city has about 200k people and its curved. Mind you my goal wasn't to make the biggest cities. Simply very nice cities to live in -
I don't know how much longer I can play this broken game
Jahnri replied to Hybr1d's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Well, I have learned to cope with the issues and quirks of the game. My cities are flourishing. However it is really grating at times. Thats a big problem for a game when the experience of playing it well feels bad. However thats my opinion. Also Kerbals ROCKS! One of the best moding communities Ive seen. -
Free DLC - Nissan Leaf Charging Station
Jahnri replied to croxis's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Hrmm, good point! Actually we have stations like that near where I live. I forgot the solar panels had that amount of juice these days. Good catch Nova -
Free DLC - Nissan Leaf Charging Station
Jahnri replied to croxis's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
The fact it doesn't take power is what irks me. Giving me new infrastructure is cool. I have no issue with branded infrastructures. However freebies in a city simulation? No. -
Anyone else lost interest?
Jahnri replied to Lakenstaken's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I wouldn't expect any really advanced Mods for at least 5 or 6 months. Thats not that usual though. Personally though I am not bored yet. However irritated as hell by certain bugs. I REALLY want to have pedestrian paths that work properly and can hook up to parks. That soooo has me slobbering. -
Update 1.7 (Traffic Improvements) Is Live
Jahnri replied to rawls's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Ok so odd note. I added a better road and nothing happened. No cars used it. Reset the map going to another city and back. Cars used the new route. So its a bit hard to judge the impact of roads. However it does seem the traffic is moving much better in my 120k city. In fact I was able to cut out roads and add houses. Still the AI for Buses and a lot of vehicles need a TON of work. Like someone mentioned, buses need proper routes. REALLY!- 26 Replies

Did today's update fix their original bad traffic? (3/15)
Jahnri replied to cnelson711's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Its amazing how different laws are around the world. Heck even across a county. We only have u turns in one specific circumstance where I live. -
Contiguous tile fix or Map size fix Which is more important to you?
Jahnri replied to DmainEvent's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Contiguous for me. Without a doubt I can handle the current map sizes if I can arrange a bunch of small districts. -
Well you have to admit it has elements which are online. Which is tacked on a game which can be single player. Which makes it a online game you want to be offline. Such is life.

MaxisGuillaume shows a video of traffic fixes :D
Jahnri replied to SirChick's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Much better It just like the dev said. Roads have weights on them. Once a road reaches a certain point of traffic cars bypass it for another second, thirds and so on route. Simple and effective. Very happy now. -
The irony of this is, some of the programmers at Maxis clearly share our vision of what Simcity could be. I think with time EA will lose this battle of control. I could even see private networks being established where the economies are dictated without the DRM. Haha, good times.

Nice work! I can tell you have the same eye for small details I do when I roam your city. That shot of the Eiffel tower was great
