  1. Hi all, Recently, my Windows 7 PC suffered a power surge during a severe storm in Sydney in November. After that, it wasn't working properly anymore. I brought it to a very good technician who fixed it by installing Windows 11 and now my PC works fine since the installation. But all aspects of SimCity 4 Deluxe was removed and I went to install the CR-ROM version of the game which i have had for ages into my new system. After installation, the game did not start at all. I'm trying to uninstall it altogether. Hopefully after I shut down the PC and I start it up later on, it won't be there. It seems like the case of an old version of SimCity 4 Deluxe from 2003 into the new and current system of Windows 11 which is not likely to work out. Would I just be better off just buying the digital version from Steam and installing it in whatever way so that hopefully it will start in Windows 11? Any tips or help is appreciated. Cheers.

    Thanks for that @Tyberius06 I also just copied the original lot and desc files from the original MN folder to the new DN folder which has the DN version. I'll add my daderic888 signature to the .SC4Model file names and the original creator's name to the lot and desc files. Cheers.

    Hi @Tyberius06 These DN modified .SC4Model files are an addition to the original MN .SC4Model files, which I have kept. The file names are "Filename - Darknite.SC4Model". They don't override the original MN version, they're just additional versions. I have taken the DN images in .bmp format. Hi @Ulisse Wolf I updated the zip files, which now include both MN & DN versions. Cheers.

    G'day again, The MN - DN process is going slowly but smoothly (6 completed and saved as .SC4Model files). I messaged the original creators seeking their permission to upload the Darknite versions of their original creations (which have Maxisnite only) to the STEX. I haven't received any replies yet. @Tyberius06 Is there another way to have permissions to upload the Darknite versions to the STEX other than messaging the original creators? I don't want to get into strife. Any suggestions please? Thanks and cheers.

    G'day Viewers! Presenting the AMP Sydney Tower in Australia. Also known as the Sydney Tower Eye, Westfield Tower and formerly albeit still commonly as Centrepoint Tower, this is located in the centre of Sydney CBD between Pitt (Pitt Street Mall), Market & Castlereagh Streets. It was completed and opened to the public in 1981. It stands at 309 metres with the Observation Deck at 250 metres above ground (the second highest in the southern hemisphere) and a revolving restaurant for everyone to enjoy the 360 degree view of Sydney's northern beaches up to Palm Beach and the Central Coast, out to the Blue Mountains, down to the South Coast and over towards Botany Bay. It also has The Skywalk which is known as Sydney's highest outdoor adventure. This is a static landmark which has a lot size of 4x2. This is available in both Maxisnite and Darknite versions. The attached night images are of the Darknite version. The only dependency you'll need for the Darknite version (should you choose to accept it) is the Simfox Day and Nite Modd. (NB: This was originally available from SimCity Central which is now offline and the Web Archive does not have the zip file. The AMP Sydney Tower was created by simnic in the Maxisnite version. Thanks for providing the info "Simmering"). A HUGE thanks to @CorinaMarie, @Cyclone Boom, @rsc204 and @Kel9509 for all the help, tips and assistance in the process of creating Darknite versions!     Thanks Kel9509. I found it tricky at first as I'm new to this. rsc204 provided a video on part of the process and the CoriBoom team have helped out heaps too, together with your input. The video showed me how quick and easy the process is. Once I get the hang of it, the further I go, the easier I'll find it. I have a lot of buildings in the pipeline. Once I start releasing them to the STEX, I'll mention CoriBoom, rsc204 and yourself. I might need to get permission from the building's (Maxisnite version only) original creators before I start releasing the Darknite versions to the STEX. Thanks all of you Cheers.

    Hi and thanks rsc204. I just retested it. I plopped both the MLC Centre and the Sydney Tower together. The nightlighting works without the need to do anything else. Now to convert the .dat file to an .sc4model file. Cheers.

    Ah, I just realised I might not have installed the EP1 Update. I'm not sure whether I should install it from what I have been reading as the GOG version which I have is 1.1.641. It looks like it's not necessary as the version could already have it included. Or would there be no nightlights because it's a .dat file? The red light on top of the tower flashes fine. Could this relate to what rsc204 said earlier in that the .dat file contains the new night textures only and not including the nightlights? Cheers.

    Well, here it is from all angles. The Darknite version of Sydney Tower as a .dat file and loaded and titled with the z and DN Override before and after the filename respectively. I plopped it next to a power and water source. There aren't any nightlights yet. I'm not sure if that's normal from a .dat file. Cheers.

    Okay, no worries. I'm working on the Darknite version of Sydney Tower at the moment. I'm on a learning curve as it's my first time to do this. I have created the darknite .dat file, but I had to pause there as, although legends like CorinaMarie, Cyclone Boom and rsc204 are helping out by giving me some tips and a video, I'm still not familiar on how to continue on downloading the .dat later than the original. Hmmm, maybe I can release both versions in one zip? Sounds good. I'll get there sooner or later. I have more stuff to follow. Cheers.

    Hi all, I downloaded this some years ago and I have it in my system and on my hard drive: Sydney Centrepoint AMP Tower. I remember that someone by the name of "simnic" created it in Maxisnite version. Unfortunately, I'm not able to find it anywhere. While I'm creating the Darknite version and so that I can help others to download it, any ideas on where to locate this at all please? Cheers.

    Sorry, not that one, I've already got that. It's the Sydney Centrepoint AMP Tower (the tower on the right) 👇 I downloaded it some years ago and someone by the name "simnic" created it in the Maxisnite version only. Unfortunetaly it's nowhere to be seen. Something for "Can't Find It??.....ask here." ???

    Okay thanks CorinaMarie, I'll have to go through it slowly (loading the DAT file later than the original) in the hope of not stuffing it up. Sorry, I might need some tips regarding this, I'm new at all this. Yep, I'll be releasing these to the STEX for others to use. These could either be separate releases in addition to the original Maxisnite releases or an over-ride, depending on how I go. A heads up, this first one is the AMP Sydney Centrepoint Tower (Darknite). I might have to convert the .dat file to an .sc4model file using iLive Reader 0.9.3. I may have to get permission from the original creators too.

    All good so far, Now I'm up to the end of the video. Everything has been done. I saved the video on my mobile phone. I think how I have to either load the DAT later than the original one or DAT-Pack them into the original file? Correct me if I'm wrong. I might have to search on how to do so. It looks like I might need to use the iLive Reader? Thanks and cheers.

    Ah okay, thanks for all that. I wasn't aware of the -C0 part of the file name. I take it that I need to rename all of the other BMP's with the -C0 at the end of the file name and prior to the .bmp extension? I'll have a go at the .fsh file which you sent to test.     Hi CorinaMarie, I just located the ReaderLoadList and a file named E86B1EEF-E86B1EEF-286B1F03.dir I click Create .dat from LoadList. Nothing is happening. Thanks, I'll try to send one BMP then all 180 of them by PM if I can. Thanks and cheers.

    Hi again, Fairdinkum. I have converted the files into Darknite files. I'm having heaps of trouble converting these Darknite BMP's back to FSH files in order to continue on to importing the FSH files into a DAT file. I select the BMP, choose the colour image, click Automatic DXT (by Alpha), Compress FSH, make a scaled set of 5, Halve = 128/64/32/16/8, click Encode in the Batch Mode field and check Reader InList, and either I click 32Bit BMP or not. After I click "GoFSH" in the bottom right hand corner, nothing is happening and there aren't any of the converted FSH files. I haven't got a clue as to what's happening. I have made numerous attempts at this. Where on earth am I going wrong? Cheers.

    Hi again, I might have found some answers to shed some light (pardon the pun) on converting custom buildings from Maxisnight which don't have Darknight files to Darknight buildings 👇 I'll be sussing this out further. Cheers.
