Launch day sales are in.... Fastest selling Paradox game ever...
flyer2359 replied to Xenocity's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
It's even got the highest metacritic score of any game period within the last 90 days, same goes for user score. Colossal Order went from a hardly known company to a well known one within a couple of weeks! -
Did anyone here purchased Cities Skylines?
flyer2359 replied to Pepe The Great's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
^I agree about building a city together, it would be awesome (kind of like what you could do in SimCity 2000). Each player could buy a certain amount of tiles for a certain price, it would be great fun imo. -
Just bought the game: What were Your first impressions?
flyer2359 replied to data7's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
Making money is too easy imo even on the hard mode. Besides that and a few glitches here and there, awesome game and well worth the hype. -
For those who watched Let's Plays - What did you think?
flyer2359 replied to Azurespecter's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
Game looks really good and fun. Appears to be more challenging than SimCity titles which is a good thing for me. I like that you have to have deathcare but I don't know if it was glitching out during Quill's stream or not and I felt like when I was watching Lyric the game could've possibly given him more hints on how to solve his high death issue? I just feel like it would be good for it to offer some guidance to newcomers. -

Cities: Skylines Announced (Release date 10th March)
flyer2359 replied to Mav12's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I haven't pre-ordered just yet but I probably will. This game already appears to be much more complete than SimTown 2013.- 165 Replies

Cities: Skylines Announced (Release date 10th March)
flyer2359 replied to Mav12's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
Agreed. I don't think I've been this excited for a game in a long time. The Paradox team definitely knows what they're doing, we might finally have the next-gen city builder/sim we've been waiting for.- 165 Replies

Cities: Skylines Announced (Release date 10th March)
flyer2359 replied to Mav12's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I'm excited for this. Maps appear to be bigger than any SimCity map ever though which is cool. Hopefully the game ends up being really good and we will finally have a good newer city builder/sim.- 165 Replies

Is your laptop running hot/overheating? This will cause the computer to automatically downclock everything on you to keep it cool, so OC'ing probably wasn't the best of ideas, especially not on laptops for heat purposes. As the post above me also stated, that is a pretty high resolution as well. But, I do agree that lighting seems to have the biggest impact on FPS and it seems to have been optimized poorly. I get about 13-18 FPS running the same graphics settings with a lower resolution and my i7 720QM is only 1.6ghz and the graphics card is a GT230M 1GB (MUCH slower than yours).

When was the last time you lost a city? I haven't lost one ever since their 1.5 update, before that I lost a lot of them though.

My video card will run it?
flyer2359 replied to leobeiramar's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
It will run it on medium without any problems. I have a GT230 (probably about 40% slower than your card and play it on low-medium). -
EA Forum user mods game to play offline, enables debug mode, and places highways/rail in and outside of city boundaries...
flyer2359 replied to Charizard's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
This is awesome news. -
I noticed flickering as well and also have a Nvidia card.
-
I wouldn't get ANY of those. They all have integrated graphics (a big no no, anything intel graphics = integrated) and have a very weak i5 in there. If I were you, I would try to find another $100-$150 if you want a laptop, because any laptop under $700 probably won't function with any games, just being honest here. If you can find another $100, you will probably be able to find a decent i5 with about 2.5ghz or so and a decent graphics card such as a Nvidia X4X (X representing numbers) or better. Something else you might want to do is see if you can ever get any laptops on clearance deals, they usually drop the prices of decent laptops a good $100-$150 for clearance so they can get rid of em'.

No industry, No commercial
flyer2359 replied to behedwin's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Great... I was somewhat okay with no industrial but this, this is just pathetic. I'm hoping this is just a Sandbox thing. -
Riddle me this (pollution from nowhere)
flyer2359 replied to perafilozof's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I've had the same problem a few times. One time, I didn't have ANY polluting buildings and it was the only city in the region, had a crap load of pollution coming from nowhere. -
Why do my graphics look so terrible?
flyer2359 replied to Nukksc16's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
Your GPU hardly even meets the minimum requirements. Your processor is pretty weak as well.
