@ussoldier2002: Yeah, matias93 is right, baseball is not as popular in south america as opposed to the Caribbean, in general. I wasn't even aware of his existence until you mentioned him. It's a nice thought, but if I ever decide to make a memorial of some sort, it would be of someone more famous and of greater importance to Latin America, such as Simón Bolívar.

@matias93: Oh no, I will check the files as soon as I get to my pc. -------------------------------- Edit: I've uploaded the missing models. Hopefully everything should be fine now. *** More progress: The first two houses will go together in a 2x1 and 2x2 lot (three houses in total). I will include another version of each with shingles instead of corrugated tin sheets. The red corrugated tin sheet might be a bit too saturated and bright, what do you think? For the lots, I took the liberty of adding different fences and walls than in real life. The props are from LBT and I will probably only use their mega prop pack to minimize dependencies.

@Gn_leugim I see, I also think that the roof might be a bit too bright. But the actual house and the surrounding ones have an even brighter roof as you can see... But hey, I could change it a bit so it fits the game better.

Here's the second model. There will be three copies that will fit snugly (w2w) into a 2x1 and 2x2 lot. I have yet to add some minor details like the wooden blinds, chimney, etc. Again, maybe this house should be both R$$ and R$$$, since it's in the same district as the previous one (Real one). Now that I think of it, I could make another similar model with a different facade, like the ones next to the real house (see link), for variety's sake. I'll probably upload the mini housing pack next week and move onto the CS$ Mini Pack Limeño 1.

I reply to you in spanish because I've noticed that you are chilean (greetings!) and I suppose that you will understand me better. Regarding the nite lites, I'm not sure if you've already checked the omnibus and I don't know what exactly is your problem, but I suggest that you go and check the BAT Essentials tutorial. It explains all the basics including how to apply lights to your BAT. Suggestion: your building would look better if you actually model the air ducts, the AC, etc, on the roof. That way it would have a 3d effect. One last advice: it would good that you check the work done by other batters. I'm also a beginner and, simply by reading here in the forums, I've learned quite a bit,!

@matias93: Thanks for your input, I'm rather ignorant about architectural styles and history, so I always appreciate comments like yours. I can indeed make another slightly different version with the characteristics that you've mentioned. Not much work would be needed. Regarding your second point, I was thinking the exact same thing; after all, this house is located in Providencia and as you probably know, the commune is mostly inhabited by upper middle income families and high income families. So, again, I'll follow your advice and make the house into R$$ and R$$$ lots.

@Gn_leugim: And here you go... *** Here's the first model of the housing pack I mentioned. It will come in the two colors shown below and sit on a 1x1 corner lot and a 1x2 corner lot. The real one As always, suggestions/comments are welcome.

@SimCoug Thanks a lot! I remember following your CJ years ago -- quietly, but avidly -- when it first started and before I took a long break from SC4. I'm looking forward it. *** Expect to see an update on my R$$ mini pack Santiaguino tomorrow.

Here's every CS$ building in the pack that I'm planning to upload. I will darken the textures of the second and third buildings from the left, as they look a bit out of place I think. Expect to see this pack very soon!

Thanks for the support guys. Still learning quite a bit! Here's the little bakery that matias93 suggested me to do. I changed the dimensions a bit so it fits nicely on a 1x1 lot together with the little house next to it. Now that I notice, there are still a few details missing as well as some textures that I could change, like the blue ceramic wall for example (which should be glossier...still trying to figure out how to do that).

@Toothless Stitch Ah yes, harishna, I've seen his BATs...Wish I had his batting skills! It's a shame he's been inactive for quite some time now. **** I will probably change the size of my future packs and instead of uploading four or more BATs at a time, I'll release 'mini' packs of two BATs. I'm doing this because I will be quite busy soon, that way those interested in my BATs will have to wait less for new content.

@matias93 Haha, yeah, that was quick! It looks good, it shouldn't be too hard to model. It gets my approval.

I've corrected the faulty exemplars of my housing pack and I've uploaded the new versions of the DAT files. Here's the last(?) CS$ building (here's the real one) for my CS$ pack. I think I can model one last CS$ building before uploading the pack. This time I'm letting you guys decide on a particular CS$ that you'd like me to model. Bear in mind that it has to have, of course, the same characteristics as the other buildings in the pack, i.e.: (1) It has to be low-density (2) It has to be located in Santiago, Chile. (3) It should preferably be w2w. First come, first served In the event that no one cares or suggests anything well... I'll just choose one myself!

@rsc204 Thanks for explaining these technical details, I'm quite ignorant in this matter, so this is quite helpful. I tried doing what you told me to do, but, as Manuel-ito said, I apparently have this bug where the examplar's Occupant size stays at 0. I'll download the old version. @Manuel-ito Thanks for letting me know about this bug, I'll have to download the old version of Ilive's Reader as you said. I'm glad you like these models, expect some R$$ houses coming soon.

@matias93 Ah shoot. I really wouldn't know what the error is. I got the houses to grow correctly, but I don't use the Datpacker. I can check and see if there's anything strange.

@Gn_leugim: Thanks! I changed the texture slightly, as you recommended. And don't worry, you will see this last building in my C$ pack next week, I'm almost done with the last store . **** I've finally uploaded my first housing pack! Thanks to all of you for your recommendations. You can download it here. Also, as I told Gn_leugim, I will probably upload my C$ pack next week, so stay tuned!

@T Wrecks Ah, thanks, got it. Glad you like the houses! @T Wrecks and @Gn_leugim: I've slightly desaturated some textures, it does look a bit better now I think, but you be the judge. **** Updated version of one of the models. I've desaturated both the roof and the wood texture. Before (left) and after(right): Another model. It's a C$ warehouse (loosely based on this). Added some painted over graffiti to liven it up a bit.

Finally, after some minor problems, I'm calling my first housing pack done. All possible combinations are shown below: Before uploading this, I have one question (probably a stupid one): I've used prop families and I have three DAT files in total. Two prop families have 3 props each and the last one has 4. I have to upload each prop's corresponding SC4MODEL and SC4DESC files in addition to the DAT file itself, right?

@matias93 Oh, what a coincidence! The neighborhood certainly has its charm, I especially like the architecture. It's a shame though that some houses are run down. I was playing SC4 and noticed that there really aren't that many latin american R$$ houses (and R$$$ for that matter). I can only think of the housing pack that LBT made some years ago...So I'll probably be making the R$$ Pack Santiaguino 1 first, eventually. You're right, street view is handy, but it never hurts to have more pictures. They would be quite useful I think, so thanks for mentioning this!

@6StringShaman Thanks, glad you like them! **** I present to you the last model of the R$ Pack Santiaguino 1. This small house will occupy a 1x2 lot together with a mirrored copy (in a different color). As always, here's the real life version. You can expect to see this first housing pack on the STEX this week.

@matias93 Thanks. Yes, some stains would do it I think. @Gn_leugim I originally had thought of doing this only to the houses, but I guess I can do the same thing with the commercial buildings **** Just letting everyone know that I've updated my first post. It should be clearer now to know what buildings you can expect to see in each pack.

Note: For some reason I can't submit a reply if I use the quote function... **** @Bombardiere Exactly my thoughts, a city is essentially made of filler buildings. Thanks, I'm trying to cool it with the colors even if in real life in Santiago a lot of buildings in some districts tend to be pretty colorful. This is not just limited to Santiago, but as you may know, many cities in Latin America ( La Paz, Valparaíso, Lima, Cartagena) tend to have bright and saturated colors. What can I say, we Latin Americans are obsessed with colors! . @T WrecksThank you for your input. I must admit that when I first started playing SC4, all I wanted to create were cities full of skyscrapers. Now, as you may guess, not so much as I'm striving for realism. That's why I'll pump out as many small insignificant buildings as I can! @Gn_leugim Thank you. You know what they say, variety is the spice of life! **** I've modeled two C$ buildings that will go together on a 1x2 lot. They are based on these ones I'm not so sure how I feel about the roof textures on the green buildings. What do you guys think?
