    Ive tried upgrading to all other types of rail, but my sims just stop using it. monorail, elevated, BTM, HSR, they all have the same effect, even when setting the speed to cheetah and waiting a few in-game years: little-to-no use. do neighbor connections affect this? if you replace a ground rail line that has an existing neighbor connection with a different type (elevated, for example) would that explain it (because the line in one city is elevated and standard ground in the other city)?
  3. i have a standard rail network that is way over capacity (stations show 300-500%) and i've been experimenting with different stations and layouts but i cant seem to reduce the congestion... for example, does transit switching contribute to congestion or just line capacity? do the different types of rail have different line capacities? if a station is in-line with a rail network, does through traffic contribute towards the stations capacity or just the commuters that are boarding/exiting? the network connects several cities of 60-100,000 population with extensive bus coverage/usage currently running: June 2009 NAM, simulator Z medium, multiple custom high-capacity stations by frogface, jasoncw, etc.

    ?! the elevated station has a capacity of 1 (as in one single commuter, not one thousand) but the ground level station is the correct capacity of 10000...
