Now that we have someone's attention... Several players have asked if Project Symphony makes any difference for demands. I asked about this in SC4Ds PS thread, but didn't get any answers. It would stand to reason that PS uses Maxis highway properties, but no one told us that it is so. - Ilja

I would love to use CAM again. There are currently three major problems keeping me back. 1. One of the major contributors withdrew all his work from LEX. Content we have in STEX are not (to my knowledge) CAMelot versions. I don't see how the current number of CAMelots could satisfy the demand of variety. 2. Stage 7 farming. I understand and respect the work that was done, but wouldn't want any current stage 7 farms to my region, or knowingly hold my regions back. Most CAMpatible agriculture is built with farms, while fields are static. 3. Most batters at STEX do not include CAM versions with their releases. The rate of releasing and updating any CAMelots and CAMpatible lots in LEX is currently really slow. This isn't a problem with LEX or STEX, but that we just don't have enough content providing members willing to support CAM. - Ilja -

I use IrfanView, because it allows me to take several images with simple Hotkey function. I just select my favorites, delete others and modify selected afterwards. - Ilja -

I use Lot Editor for lotting and B.A.T for BATs and ILives Reader for modding values. LE works just fine. What kind of problem do you have with it?

There is definetly a texture conflict here. WMP Texture mega pack replaces all previous texture packs from 1 to 9. Doc managed to fix these problems before his passing, so I think that you have one of those old packs in you Plugins folder causing this problem.

It can also be a plugin pack. I had this message with Gare du Nord and found out that one prop was missing from inside the building. It is even displayed as a flag, when Peg's OPPS Mod plugin is installed. According to my understanding, the number is not entirely meaningless, but tells the date and time the plugin was created. Ability to read and compare that information can be useful while hunting the culprit, but - alas - I don't know how to read this information. Ability to compare it would also be limited to users Plugins folder. - I

I have same problem. Switching to Software mode isn't an option, while I am using HD textures. I never imagined that there would be any sort of solution for this, but I am willing to try whatever you guys can come up with. - Ilja

Couple of weeks? Depenging of the intensity of your playing, you might wish to check age graphs. If you have developed your city according the needs of your oldest residentials, young sims may have a trouble to find jobs. Make sure that you have enough Light Commercial around popular roads and residential streetcorners to provide Cs§ for your young and poor sims. Minimum weight jobs and 0-hour industrial jobs; that is how we fight against unemployment problems. How benevolent mayor you ever wanted to be, social politics weren't included in SC4. - Ilja Edit: And my eyes just jumped over the part where BWest246 tells us that problem affects R§§§. Are you sure that those buildings haven't diplidated to R§§ or R§?

I had 2 CD copies and now they are both destroyed. First copy (bought from store) got eaten by my army friends puppy. Damn dog never found any guns, but it allways knew when another SC4 CD was nearby. Second copy (ordered online) got crushed by a *ahem* big guy in a *cough* somewhat less than sober state. He could have landed his Maximus Gluteus anywhere else, but it had to be... I... just... Argh! Third copy (my friend gave it to me as a gif when I created my account to Steam) is live, legal, up to date and working just fine. I will not loose it to another dog, or what Jake lost in 1992. - Ilja -

I haven't had any problems withGmax or B.A.T. launching and saving with Steam version. Default save-folder might occationally be somwhere else, but I never used it anyway. Where does this statement of Steam download being incombatible with other programs come from? I am asking because I do not know and/or understand. - Ilja -
Nope. You can turn them to llamas, though. You can shut them up from options menu. If you have set your game to go automatically to catastrophes then you should be fine. Note, that you don't get information about new reward buildings, but they still exist in your Reward menu. You must also be more careful with your civic and power buildings, but managing them becomes a reflex after awhile. - Ilja

The price for Simcity 4 Deluxe was 9,99€ in Steam today. Should be cheap enought price for a game like this - and includes much less pointless hassle than messing around with illegal and (possibly) unstable versions of the game. I second MandelSoft's advice: buy your version from Steam. I am hanging around their forums as Reforman.* - Ilja * Yeah. Stupid, I know, but the name "Reform" was given to me by others and it kind of stuck.
