BAT - Troubleshooting & General Discussion

Thanks, from reading the threads that is what I expected. Though it is annoying when you are trying to texture & can't see what it looks like without previewing. -
Will this laptop run SimCity 4?
Eagle74 replied to skyscraperC3's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I am not running Win 10, so someone else can help you better with that. Here is a link to a Win 10 problem reporting thread that you may want to read through.- 4 Replies

Either one could run it once you set it up for Win 10. If you have to get one of these opt for the 8GB RAM for lots of reasons (although SC4 is limited on RAM usage).- 4 Replies

BAT - Troubleshooting & General Discussion
Eagle74 replied to Jasoncw's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
I am doing the BAT Essentials Tutorial & have a question on texturing. When material (brick texture) is applied to extruded walls it shows fine in viewpoint on one side of the wall, but the other side is completely black. . . but the preview appears to be OK. What is going on here & how do I rectify it? I am running BAT/Gmax & the UVW map is set on box. -
You should not remove the files from your plugins if you have the associated lot(s) built in your cities. Put the files back into the plugins folder, delete every lot in your cities associated with the files you want to remove, save your cities & exit game. Then, you can move the files out of plugins.

There are not many ( or any?) higher pop CS$ buildings. A while back, I relotted a couple of CO midrises to CS$ & ran them through PIMX for my personal use. But they are Camelots so they won't grow without CAM. One is a stage 9 title loans office with ~1200 pop on a 3x2 lot. The other is a stage 11 pay day loans with a ~1100 pop on a 2x2 lot. I have not gotten around to putting props on the lots nor to testing them. . . but the title loans is growing in one of my cities with no apparent issues. If you are interested, I will share the lot & desr files but you will have to download the models separately. Fair warning that I am not an expert on this, & someone else may be better at helping you.

I had heard that there was a fix. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

Using CPU count:1 my game has never crashed. . .except for a few self inflicted ones with TE lots.

Low tax incomes after installing CAM
Eagle74 replied to Giovanne's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
CAM 2.1 does lower the tax multipliers for difficulty level from 1.2, 1.1, & 1.0 (easy, medium, hard for RH) to 1.2, 1.0, & 0.8 (easy, medium, hard for CAM 2.1). It also changes the tax multiplier for all residential wealth levels from 1.0 in RH to 0.9 in CAM 2.1. I've been trying it for a week or so, & it is definitely harder to make a profit than RH. -
Well, at least you have to admit that "reacted" does get you to look at it to see how they reacted.

OK, thanks. they will disappear on their own.

Thanks for the help.

OK, so I changed the "demand days of tax penalty" in the demand simulator from 90 to 30 using Reader. But, the response to increasing the tax & then lowering it back to the initial setting does not seem to work as intended. It appears to be buggy & not follow the rate variance from neutral to demand curve that you would expect. And it doesn't return to "normal" after 30 days. Is there some other value in the simulator that should also be changed for this to work properly?

Hi all, I have been away from the game for awhile & am interested in catching up with the developments. I read through the NAM manuals until my eyes glazed over, & still trying to decide which options to install. Look forward to playing SM4 again.
