Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
Ganaram Inukshuk replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
It isn't supposed to be draggable, nor is it supposed to be another starter-based network; It's just a puzzle piece that you plop on top of the RHW-2 in sequence.- 3,919 Replies

There's already a curved MIS to L2 MIS (EMIS) transition under the Transitions button. It's been there since RHW 4.1.

The one thing I would recommend to new/inexperienced/befuddled/lost RHW users is, well, practise. The second thing I'd recommend is to look at other people's RHW creations for inspiration/ideas. This isn't the kind of thing you can master in one day; It takes immense practise to even make a diamond that's compact and realistic enough. There's also a handful of RHW tutorials out there, so I'd further recommend looking into those, as well as practising RHW construction in a sort of "Test Region/City". There are already a number of pieces that curve an orthogonal RHW to diagonal, primarily for MIS, RHW-2, RHW-4, and to an extent, RHW-6C, with many others to be filled in with each successive release. Some of which don't even go directly to diagonal; They transition to something between orthogonal and diagonal: Fractional-Angle, which essentially "breaks free" from the regular SC4 grid. Alex (Tarkus) clearly stated that multi-level functionality is nowhere near done, so as of now, that's all you'll probably see at this point. Also, the use of TE-lots as puzzle pieces isn't recommended, as they can cause strange side effects with the Traffic Simulator. Besides, BATing such a piece would still take as long to make as a prefab. PS: Even today, there are people who still request for RHW prefabs, but the answer is always the same. It's oftentimes along the lines of "No" and "They're inflexible, they're too big, they take too long to make, they're a waste of IIDs, they copy pre-existing functionality, and there's far too many networks and RHW widths to make prefabs to account for each combination." This is stated in the SC4D RHW Development Thread FAQ (and should probably be copied into the RHW Readme). My reasoning for having a modular system is like asking "Why not just cut up the prefab into pieces?" PSS: I'll admit that even I don't have time to learn how to fully play SC4, but that's for building hypermassive cities. Most of my SC4 time is devoted to transit tomfoolery, hence my knowledge of the RHW.

Yeah, uhh,... No. And the following is quoted verbatim from the RHW FAQ on SC4Devotion: And if you think the RHW was too big, think again: The Maxis Highways are actually too small. o.O The point of the so-called "Modular Interchange System" (not the MIS network; I'm referring to any RHW piece used for interchange construction) is that it's modular, where you can mix-n-match all sorts of ramps, interfaces, and transitions, allowing for an infinite number of interchange possibilities, not just a fixed number. Another quote: Starterless pieces and DRIs are what I see as the first step to such an incentive.

Maxis-Styled AVE-6 Median Pack

There's no way a T21 exemplar can hinder a puzzle piece or transit network's functionality; At most, it can only hinder its looks. Besides, judging by your picture, you forgot the TuLEPs. These are Turn-Lane puzzle pieces that can allow you to make variable-length turn-lane setups, and most importantly, create a proper SPUI to turn lane connection (The reason behind the creation of the TuLEPs). Did you select the Turn Lane Extension Pieces while installing the NAM?

Maxis-Styled AVE-6 Median Pack
Ganaram Inukshuk commented on Ganaram Inukshuk's file in Transportation
Maybe you should try the Installer that the NAM uses so it is installed by putting a check mark by each thing you want to install.
First of all, I don't even have the technology to compile an installer. Second, what about Mac users? Besides, only one can be used, due to the T21 limitations I've stated. -
Nope, my brain ain't fried yet. Frying my brain would require having to think in four spatial dimensions, not four physical dimensions (Imagine throwing a ball forward and having it come back to hit you in the back of the head, while at the same time, seeing yourself getting hit in the back of the head while looking forward, even though the path of the ball was a parabola). I like the idea of a predestination paradox, but have just now found out it was called "Predestination Paradox". Kinda like something from Bill and Ted with the keys and the preset traps. The Grandfather Paradox is the most befuddling of all, but there's a similar one where instead of killing your ancestor, you ARE your ancestor. But there's something else from Back to the Future: If in the end you were going to rectify a Grandfather Paradox, you wouldn't be in danger of disappearing forever (and destroying the universe). Somehow, I better understand the logic behind some time travelling anomalies/paradoxes than any one in my family.

Maxis-Styled AVE-6 Median Pack By GDO29Anagram (Ganaram DI) This is essentially a pack of AVE-6 Median T21s. There are a total of 15 different T21s in this pack, one for each wealth and density level for Residential and Commercial, plus one for Industrial, and one with just the lights, as well as non-light versions of each (except for the "Just-The-Light" version). IMPORTANT!!! Due to the T21 limitations imposed on the triple-tile nature of the AVE-6's median, none of the props can be zone-dependent; They have to be "turned on" the whole time. And I didn't want to go with a single "one-size-fits-all" solution, so I offered every type so that the user can decide which one to use to their desire. In other words, you can only use one of the T21 DATs, but you're also free to switch one for another one if you so desire. Installation: Place the folder "z AVE-6 AVE-8 T21" into your plugins folder, then enter the folder itself. Select one of the DATs you want to use, then delete/remove the rest. Uninstallation: Remove the folder "z AVE-6 AVE-8 T21" and everything in it. Dependencies: NAM 30 or above, and NWM 2.0 or above. Please read the enclosed readme for more details. Feel free to comment about any problems or bugs or any suggestions you might have. -
Who isn't? And that's actually the L2 6S, not 6C. (Toy with the NAM for long enough and you can tell what's S and C; Besides, there's no Jeresy Barrier.) @okaleldar: I see you copied the example I had, but made it in an antiweave setup...

Well, if you remove all the MIS, what you'll have left is the RHW-4's forming a type of Directional-T Interchange (I call them DirT Interchanges; This one's actually a Semi-DirT.). Having the MIS there connecting to another highway makes it a 4-way interchange, but how it's arranged makes it look parasitic, so the whole thing would be a "Parasitized" Semi-DirT Interchange. And while I'm at it, I might as well describe a few different types of combined interchanges (and I just made this up on the spot, so don't quote me on this): - Mitotic Interchange - Two like interchanges fused together, such as this odd example I found: - Parasitized Interchange - Two interchanges in which one is connected to the other in a way that it hinders traffic flow, or looks confusing from the air. - Symbiotic Interchange - Two different interchanges that are well connected to each other. It's different from a ParaChange in that the two interchanges rely on each other.

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
Ganaram Inukshuk replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Well, that's just a quick and dirty workaround, which is like trying to slam together two non-fitting sky pieces from a jigsaw puzzle together (Puzzle-Slamming,... Hmm... Glad to hear it works, though.). A proper transition's gonna be added inevitably, because it's more convenient to create and it looks better. Plus, certain RHW-NWM transitions double as starters; Imagine dragging RHW from an OWR-1 and having it immediately turn into MIS WITHOUT any sort of proper starter...- 3,919 Replies

I don't think one was RUL'd in, but you can "make" one by placing the two starters next to each other. The paths will line up perfectly, and it should work. In time, it might be added. When it will be added is yet to be determined.

I can't recall if this type of interchange was ever shown here before, but this is what's known as a Pinavia Interchange, which is essentially an oversized grade-separated (or antiweave, as I like to call it) roundabout-type interchange. Nothing else right now; Just this one. And before I forget: Will, that's a nice Trumpet Interchange. Really compact.

Why is everyone into "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic"?
Ganaram Inukshuk replied to Ionic-Elm's topic in General Off-Topic
To be honest,... Rainbow Dash/Fluttershy is the perfect balance of awesome and adorability; Maybe because I admire pegasus-ponies...? Lyra/Bonbon is my secondary favourite. Fanfics? Haven't come across any that sufficiently caught my attention... How about that one pegasus pony who was caught derping? (By now, at least half of us should know who she is... Derpy.) -
Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
Ganaram Inukshuk replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
When they'll be added is yet to be determined, but the RHW-related ones would be part of the RHW (hence the "rotate for more" thing), the NWM-related ones would be part of the NWM, and the ones involving the default networks (AVE-4, OWR-2, MAVE-2/Road) would be part of the NAM's FLUP menu. It's just a matter of attaching the props onto a designated puzzle piece, times however many networks there are. Then again, you need to model out the prop first.- 3,919 Replies

1. There's just the RHW-2 FLUP entrance at the moment, but if you visit SC4Devotion, that might change in the future. https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=13715.0 2. DDRHW-NWM crossings are currently unsupported. 3. There's no 6S/6C to Maxis Highway transition. Many people asked for this, and even fewer have tried to make one. The two main hurdles are the models and scaling: The MHW models are super-complicated and the MHW itself is underscale. You'd essentially be transitioning from a realistically-scaled flat-model network to an underscaled 3D model network, and it wouldn't be that smooth.- 3,919 Replies

Why is everyone into "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic"?

Speechless is me... :boggle: And I was just listening to "Still Alive", too... And I kinda like the MLP-GLaDOS Maarten found... Sadly I never played Portal, but that's besides the point... -

Fellow Brony-Simtropolite here. First, why would I watch a show that most "Normalites" would consider girly? It's funny and entertaining, and have you not seen all the random allusions? That's the best part. Honestly (and I'm beginning to sound like Applejack here...), I was originally in it for the parodies, but I say that about a lot of things. Essentially, you pick up on things over time, and from experience, I did that a lot... (Happy Tree Friends, Portal, Minecraft, Network Addon Mod,... Thread-lurking... ) And also, I've long since increased my Skittles intake (Taste the Rainbow? Rainbow Dash? Spicy rainbows?). And Astronelson and Marsh, Chocolate Rain was probably the best part. In fact, a quick Youtube search led me to this: -

Ganaram Inukshuk replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
Exactly. (Didn't I just say that a few posts ago...? ) And Nathan, there was a file that was accidentally excluded from the RHW that's causing your problem. However, that same file is included in the NWM, so the viable solution would be to either download the NWM, or use Tarkus's patch he provided on SC4Devotion. https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=990.msg396140#msg396140- 3,919 Replies

Despite all these tragedies, it seems like the NAMite/Pony/Minecraft gods (And Dirk) are smiling upon us.

The item you're looking for (Elevated RHW-6C) is currently unavailable right now, but will be made available once RHW 5.0 comes out. Though I should point out that if even if you used ERHW-4 as a workaround, you would need to make the bottom area wider to accommodate the starters. Another workaround would be to create an Avenue tunnel. I would recommend this to you: Check out the development thread for RHW to see what's being developed, and check the readme to see what's already available.
