A couple weeks ago, I decided to make a city journal. I dutifully downloaded all the PEG lots, all the network mods, all the seawalls. I set out to make a city that would blow everyone away. It would be gorgeous. Then I got bored. A couple days later, I was looking through this very forum, jealously poring over every intersection, when it came to me. I would not make the most beautiful city ever, I would make the worst city ever. Thus, Worst was born. Then let's explore. http://www.findchuck.com/simcity/20.jpg align=baseline> Yes, that is Downtown Worst. It contains every single commercial highrise in my Landmarks menu. There are over 212,000 job openings in that tiny area. Oh, and in case you're wondering, those are streets. Without any capacity mods. Serving all 212,000 jobs. This is going to be fun. Pick a large chain designed to squelch all economic competition, Worst's got it. Every fattening restaurant franchise from McDonalds to Olive Garden has a representative. There's even a Hooters! Wait, you may be saying. Consumer Fraud Way? That's only one street name. What about all the other ones? Well, that's a fair question. You see, Consumer Fraud Way twists and turns quite a bit. In fact, there is only one intersection on it. So basically, it creates more of a community atmosphere, since everyone in the community will be on it. http://www.findchuck.com/simcity/22.jpg align=baseline> This is the oh-so-lovely Hotel Road. There are eleven hotels featured here. Hey, competition's good, right? After all, it's the only city in the region that charges nothing for dirty industry! Oh, but there is one catch. There's only one street. And it's the same as Consumer Fraud Way. So, you have to go aaall the way over there to get your good out. I'll give 'em a hospital. well, the problem is that they're all commuting to the area 51 and its dairy queen, and things like the coal plants. But I rezoned it as high density, and so it's beginning to overflow. i'm discovering that i have to tweak this as it goes along. it's alot harder to make the worst city ever than i thought!

Worst Update EVER: Okay, due to an unfortunate crashing incident, Worst had to be mostly rebuilt. Sooo, here's New Worst: I quickly realized that they might want water, dispite what the game guide says about low income using wells or something. I live in L.A., and we got plenty of low income, and last time I checked, there's no wells. So... Then I got to thinking, what would a corrupt mayor do? Of course he would build a house, but would it be just any house? Certainly not! Hence, mayor Cruella's beautifully well kept side and front gardens! But that's not enough. A vacation house is in order. With a yacht club. Where the mayor is the only member. On a private lake. OF SEWAGE!!!! By the way, there's an awesome lot on the STEX called the hellhole or something like it. Produces amazing amounts of pollution. It's great. Well, for me, anyways. That evil woman environmentalist or whatever shut down the water because of it. Yeah, that's productive. I mean, c'mon. That looks alot like American residence halls built in the 70's. It especially reminds me of a nearby one, Claremont McKenna. The 101 is the Ventura freeway. 210 is the Pasadena freeway, 110 is the Los Angeles freeway. Great job on the intersections! They look awesome!

You guys think you have crazy interchanges? Try crazy freeways in general! I'm from Southern California, home of the worst interchange in the nation, according to some study I saw. It's the 101 to 405 interchange, and I take it every day to school. I couldn't find a picture of it, but here's a comparable one. The 405 and 10 interchange. Here's some perfect examples of California freeways at their finest. Yes, you're seeing it correctly. That's a stop sign- on an onramp! You have to stop completely, then accelerate to freeway speeds when you think you see an opening. No wonder there's slow traffic, the exit must be taken at 5 mph! And they're not kidding when they say 5. I tried taking it at 15, and almost didn't make it. Our freeways are so bad, there's permanant detours. Just thought you guys might enjoy there pictures! I've been watching the forums for a while, but this is the second time I've posted.
