The Craziest Interchanges from Your Country/State
mayorcwf replied to MandelSoft's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
another one i would put in is the I-75/I-96/ON-3 (via Bridge to Canada). and its still under construction! http://maps.google.c...093513&t=h&z=15 http://maps.google.c...4,0.023378&z=17 (close up of the Canada interchange) I-96 /M-8, for a freeway that was never built. http://maps.google.c...6,0.023378&z=17 I-96/M-39 Southfield http://maps.google.c...2,0.046756&z=16 a few years earlier i would have put in the I-94/US-24 interchange. this from google video show the pre reconstruction of the interchange with the way the interchange looks now http://video.google....42083761791162# -
or someone who is into alternative history. think about things like what if the reason for the Russian revolution of 1917 never happened (say the prince never got hemophilia), or Czar Alexander II never got killed in 1881. or what if Rome never fell in 476AD. food for thought also. (next idea maybe some alternative history flags)

Real Highway (RHW) - Development and Support
mayorcwf replied to qurlix's topic in NAM & Transit Networks
How about something like a RHW-4U (4-lane undivided/substandard Urban Freeway), with special ramps designed to simulate the pre-1956 urban/rural interchanges? (think something Like CA-110/Pasadena Freeway for Example where the exits ramp dump traffic off onto side streets and freeway entrance ramps that would have to have a stop sign at then end of the ramp)- 3,919 Replies

another suggestion: how about a typical service center found along the 401? (can be used with the NAM/RHW)
-
or how about something like this?
-
is it possible to make this highway interchange for ground highways (like the Euro interchange in the new NAM, but tighter curves (75-90 degree turn with exit speeds as low as 5-10 MPH)). (interchange is part of I-75 around Reading-Lockland OH)

how about these signs: Curve 25 MPH (with a left hand curve) I-75/I-375 with 25 MPH warning under I-75 (this is in Detroit, right near Ford Field) I-96 Lansing/Canada 1 Mile I-696 Pt. Huron/Lansing I-75 Toledo/Flint I-94 Chicago/Pt. Huron I-275 Toledo/Flint US-23 Toledo/Flint
-
if it hadn't already been requested, a left hand T-interchange for highways and Avenues (where the exits/Enterance for the T is on the left). and a No Left Turn mod for highways/oneway streets (so i can make my sims do a Michigan Left)
-
how about Ford Field in Detroit (and deck it out for Super Bowl XL).

i like what i see. but can you do next a side on-ramp/offramp to one-way road, and can be placed in single section?
-
for the pictures (screenshots), why not come up with something that incorprate BSP (art deco, 70's style, etc.) into the pictures, as for the filename, i leave that up to you.

some suggestions for the Project: Big Boy restuant (an great example is the one on Gratiot and 9 Mile where the Big Boy is on the sign). the Defunct Gratiot Drive in in Roseville (Sims love Drive ins, so give them one with class) the Old JL Hudson Dept. Store in Downtown Detroit (In its heyday) the DIA (Detroit institute of Arts) the Old GM Building (complete with GENERAL MOTORS on the top of the Building) the 1872 Erin Schoolhouse (on 9 Mile in Eastpointe) now i wish Maxis could make the depressed (below Ground) freeways that Detroit have. Execpt for I-75 at the Rouge Bridge, no freeway in Detroit is Above ground.

look at some real life cities. Chicago, Washington, Dallas/Ft Worth, and New York have at least 1 large and 1 small airport to handle their air traffic needs. Atlanta, Detroit, and Boston have one large airport to handle their traffic
