It's a difficult year for the gamer on a budget. I am looking at purchasing several games including Battlefield 3, TES:V, Rugby World Cup, the next instalment of FIFA and still waiting for more on Forza 4.

Images like these make me want to buy CXL, good work!

Most of the STEX items require SC4 Rush Hour or Deluxe Edition installed. It would be best to buy the Rush Hour expansion as it adds many new things to the game such as the avenue network and new mass transit options. It is also strongly recommended to update the game with the official updates as some plugins require them to function and most night-lighted buildings require the BAT update to light up at night. How do you know that? SC4 is a mysterious game and it doesn't like dual processor machines, but it's not known to do this. Have you tried compatibility modes? Will it work if the patches are removed (ie: a reinstall)?

I'm comparatively at the other end of the scale, clocking in at 439 MB of plugins. I haven't started looking to replace Maxis buildings with custom content yet which may explain some of that, plus I usually only download a few things that I really need.

Since you're new, it'd be a good idea to check out the refurbished Omnibus of knowledge linked at the top of the page, it contains many useful hints and tips for developing cities. Also, check out the pinned threads in the forums such as THIS ONE as they usually contain helpful stuff as well. Parking garages are used to connect sims with mass transit (buses, el-rail), they leave their cars here to get on the bus to work and come back here to go home, so they'll only get used if they provide a link to work and it's quicker than driving. The commute time is determined by the in-game traffic simulator, although it is widely accepted to be broken, so I suggest downloading the Newtork Addon Mod which contains many helpful tools and fixes a few problems. high residential and high density commercial require lots of satisfaction in their neighbourhoods before being built, such as good health and education and parks, you can see a list of helpful items HERE. Once more, take time to browse the Omnibus, it's full of help. If there's any other problems, ask them here or in the chat room.

You need to download the EP1 update and Update4BAT from the official SC4 site or from sc4devotion.com. You need a legal copy of SC4 for the updates to work properly.
