  1. Stanton-Kerry - Twincities

Hey, thanks for your reply. I've added a screenshot of an area with some buildup around it, so it has been getting some traffic for some time now. In a regular set up there would be 7 crossroads whereas now there's just 2. Lets say the average stop is 5 seconds in a regular system, because of the larger number of cars that time is now 10 seconds. Times 2 crossroads makes 20 seconds. Otherwise it would have been 7x5 seconds is 35 seconds. These are mere estimates, but i seems to work for me. But, i only use this system for low density area's and i have a pretty decent bus system. My experience, without busses, everything clogs up, no matter how many roads. Ok, cheers!
  2. Show Us Your Skylines Interchanges

He guys. Here's the infra of my twin cities work in progess "Stanton-Kerry". Eastern interchange: Downtown interchange: SE-interchange: Western interchange: Southernmost interchange: Halfway interchange: Overview of the city and infrastructure so far: Thanks for viewing! Cheers
  3. Stanton-Kerry - Twincities

Hello. A small update on the twin cities for your viewing pleasure. Some detailing on the downtown and eastside of Stanton. I've designated the different downtown areas: Eastside: Lower downtown: Deer Park: Downtown: Westside: Stadium Hill: The university-to-be: Some random suburban expansion: And some detailing: I find this concept of road layout to be effective in reducing the number of crossroads and thus significantly improving traffic flow. I dont know of a better way to descibe it than a grid within the grid. Anywho, it works: Ok, thats it for now. Thanks for viewing!

Hey, Here's an update on the city. I'm mainly focussing on expansion and will do some detailing later on. I've pretty much completely redone the Stanton industrial area, removing the industry too close to the downtown area, a large southern expansion, placing the central passenger station (the amazing Kansas City Union Station by Lightfooted) which serves as a buffer between the industrial and downtown area's and spending a lot of time figuring out the infrastructure so traffic wont clog up. So far, all of the stations and traffic are functioning fine. The lower downtown area between Union Station and the highway is pretty much filled in: Placing the downtown highrises is pretty much done. The vacant lots will be filled in with regular zoning in the future. The Kerry-Stanton expressway is now connected which is a mayor relief to the regular highway system: And i've added another direct connection. This is the Gandolfini Connect, allowing traffic to travel quickly from south Kerry to south-downtown Stanton and north downtown Stanton: The first suburban expansion of Stanton, to the west: This is the Stevens Corridor. A major north-south artery only connected to primary avenues, allowing a swift travel through the future suburban area's: That's it for now, hope you enjoyed!

  6. Booyakasha, This is the Stanton-Kerry metro region. Two cities, supposed to grow together kinda like Minneapolis-St. Paul. Situated on the northwestern coast of the US. I'm not focusing primarily on aesthetics but trying to find a balance between making everything work and looking somewhat pretty if possible. This is the town of Kerry with the Stanton skyline in the back: Downtown Kerry from the industrial zone in the west: Kerry Station square which serves as a bus hub with a direct, no stop connection to downtown Stanton: Kerry central railyard: The industrial zone: In-game overview of Kerry. Besides the occasional fire and some moaning about land value everything's functioning fine. My last city San Tonias had a lot of problems like freighttrains not spawning and police and fire services not working which sucked: Ok, on to Stanton, the largest of the twin-cities. It's an american town so highways are important: This is the mayor artery connecting the north and south highways and going into downtown. The accentuated highway is a dedicated expressway, leading from the far southern and northern outside connections and downtown Kerry to downtown Stanton: Downtown interchange: Western interchange. The accentuated roads are connected to onramps or off ramps exclusively, bringing down incoming and outgoing traffic interference to a minimum: The central industrial zone and railyard. The onramps to the right are one-way, leading to the incoming and outgoing connection from the previous image. Managing industrial traffic is always a challenge, but stuff is functioning alright so far. Let's see if the infrastructure can keep up with the growing activity: Downtown hospital. Mater Dei Hospital and the Cancer Research Center are both excellent buildings to combine. Westermost interchange. I've tried to follow accapulco's advice and split traffic at an early stage:
  7. Columbine

Very, very beautiful as expected. Can i ask you, what asset is the metal shed like thing you've used for the central bus station? It looks good btw. Looking forward to the city. Cheers!
  8. San Tonias

Hey, Though i had a lot more plans for San Tonias, this will be the last post in a short lived topic. The city is just not functioning and i don't like that. For some reason, there's no freight trains spawning anymore, and the police- and firestations aren't operating leading to massive crime and fires. Anywho, here's an overview of the city. The American Roads mod is new to my game and looks friggin' beautiful.. This was the start of a new, mixed urban district on the other side of the river, opposite Oldtown... And adding some more density around downtown.. So, that was that. I'm building a new town now and checking more often if stuff's still functioning the way it's supposed to. Thanks for viewing!
  9. Project "Random Airport"

You could put some workshop logo's or billboards over the Saturn logo's with the prop snapping mod
  10. Project "Random Airport"

Your work is way better than that of the popular youtube guys. When you actually mistake ingame screenshots for real world or satellite images, you know you've build a beautiful, realistic city. Do keep it up, your city is an absolute joy to watch.
  11. San Francisco

Looks very promising. Awesome job on Lombard street. Nice to look forward to more.
  12. Columbine

Really, really good. Astonishing details and lots of different style props. I like your town very much.
  13. San Tonias

Oldtown is the oldest part of San Tonias. Historically a busy, industrial neighbourhood it's now a mixed area with refurbished, monumental buildings, modern shopping malls and entertainment. High crime rates in the 80's and 90's left Oldtown almost vacant which still shows in some parts of the area. But the old industrial buildings also distinguish Oldtown from the rest of downtown and give the neighbourhood somewhat more character. Ok, that was that. Currently working on more suburban area's: Thanks for viewing!
