I would very much prefer to decide the density by zoning! A scyscraper can be on a rather small road but have great comuting by bus or tram or rail.
-
You need a blank between the " and - Like this: "C:\program files\Maxis\SimCity 4.exe" -CPUCount:1
-
That image helps alot. Your CPU does have multiple cores, in fact it has four. That is what the quad means. Would you be willing to do an experiment? I promise, you wont break anything. If you know how, make a new SimCity shortcut on your desktop. Right click it and choose properties. In the shortcut tab there is a line called target. It probably looks something like this: "D:\Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe\SimCity 4.exe" Just add -CPUCount:1 to the line so it will look like this: "D:\Games\SimCity 4 Deluxe\SimCity 4.exe" -CPUCount:1 Don´t change anything else. Click OK and start the game using this new shortcut. Hopefully your game will not crash anymore.

I think you are zoning way too much. Try to limit the comercial zoning to a small part and then the demand will soon push up those scyscrapers (if the population is high enough). Think of how a real city is like. A centralized core with good transportation.

Residential Areas Say Educational Grade is Low (High Wealth) or Medium (Medium and Low Wealth)
Owaen replied to Infamous Blob's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
How about you try and place some libraries and museums. Atleast i think they serve as "education" for the older populace. -
I am playing a region with only the largest city tiles. Some of my cities are developed to the point where no new farms will grow. I still have huge swatches of land that would be ideal for farming. I remember vaguely that i saw "somewhere" a mod/building for raising farm "desirability" Running CAM if that has any significance. Thanks in advance for any help

If you have water in your map you could try the PEG CDK Garbage Docks. www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm (https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=17245)

Thanks for comments. Based on those i made some improvements. (Click images to see full resolution 1680x1050) I changed the dumbell to a FLUPS-Diamond to increase the weaving zone a bit (Thx asteconn) I also changed the overpass to eliminate weaving altogether. (Thx McDuell) Finally a new overview of the setup. Ohh, and McDuell a monster is the least you could call that spaghetti jumble How long did it take you to plan that out? I also like your windmill/stack.

Hi everyone. Great contributions all. (Way too many to compliment them individually ) I haven´t posted for ages but now with the new NAM & RHW i decided to start a new region. My playstyle may differ from yours but I like to at least lay the arterial networks before I start to build. I hate to tear down buildings just to increase traffic flow, not very realistic, but hey it´s a game. (Click images to see full resolution 1680x1050) First image shows a Bridgehead and a dumbell intersection using the new FLUPS under RHW. Next one is a large interchange between two RHW 4 (I don´t know if this one got a name) It was inspired by a post by twinsfan14 : www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm Next up is a close up of the new fancy road markings. Last image shows an overview of the area. (Yes I am planning a large harbour/industry on one side of the bridge) Finally a great big THANK YOU to the people working on the NAM & RHW for making this game even better. And as always comments, suggestions, criticism is welcome. Edit : I just noticed I got a Trixie ! Thanks everyone who voted for me. I searched but could not find who nominated me.

@ jim 546 Defunct is a real word. But it means "not functioning" as far as i can tell. dictionary.reference.com/browse/defunct And my MIS lanes(parallel to highway) are working, even the sims use it as i intended. Those coming from the west going north and those coming from east going south are using them. It keeps the roundabout from clogging up too much. @ sir_knight Interesting is just the word A very innovative use of the "highway over roundabout" piece. (edit:spelling)
