Im looking for some custom content hospitals which cover a whole large map, that include helipads. Ive found many that cover a whole map, but unfortunately none of them seem to have helipads, and its annoying having the helicopter like sitting on top of the hostpital, or on the ground next to it, not on a helipad. If anybody knows of any could they let me know please, thanks,

Solminia- An industrial slum.- Part 3- Nuclear power, fires and water pollution.
bestacorn4ever posted a City Journal entry in Dastronica
At the end of the last entry a committee was formed to determine the best course of action for the city in regard to electricity generation. They recommended that the city stick with nuclear power, as it was a compromise between the cheap and nasty generation method of coal and the more expensive, but truly clean renewables such as solar or wind. However the committee concluded that the cities current nuclear plants were based on old, outdated designs, and thus recommended the construction of a modern, much more efficient nuclear station. Whilst this would involve massive initial investment, it would pay-off, with much lower operating costs, and also a much safer plant. The cities current plants cost the city $80,000 to build, and produced power at an optimal rate of 32,000 Mwh/month for $6000/month with a safety rating of 'poor'. That's a cost of around 19 cents per Mwh of power. In comparison, a modern Russian VVER-440 V 213, pressurised water vapour style plant would initially cost $150,000 to build, but produce power at an optimal rate of 41,000 Mwh/month for $3000/month, with a safety rating of 'fair'. That's about 8 cents per Mwh of power. In short the newer Russian plant would reduce power generation costs by a whopping 58%. The city commenced construction of a new plant right away to replace the older plants, and the city was soon operating its newer, cheaper, safer nuclear energy plant. Below is a picture of the new plant. Fire was beginning to pose an increased threat to the city, even with mandatory smoke detector installation, fires were becoming all too commonplace in the city. Furthermore, having effective fire services was essential in reducing the risk posed by the nuclear power plant and threat of a nuclear meltdown. The decision was therefore made to construct another fire station, in a central area of the city to act as a fire command centre. It is hoped that this will lead to increased effectiveness in fire fighting in the city. The new fire command centre is shown below. The new fire centre appears to have worked, as can be seen in the data below, effective fire brigade coverage has been vastly increased by the new station, and now covers practically the entire city. Next up, a further expansion of the housing sector was completed, along with a new hospital and railway station in the new sector. Unfortunately there proved to be little demand for new housing, and much of this sector remained vacant and undeveloped, months after it was released to the market. A courthouse was also constructed in the centre of the city, opposite a Chili's fast food outlet, as can be seen in the image below. Water pollution was once again posing a major hazard to the city once more, as evident from the data below. The decision was therefore made to construct a water treatment plant to clean the water supply in the worse effected area (the industrial sector). The new plant can be seen below. It was decided in a council meeting that the lack of development in the newly expanded housing area must have been due to a lack of jobs available. The council then came to the extremely controversial decision to zone more land for industrial development directly next to the housing, which lead to some residents having massive polluting factories directly across the street from their homes. The motion for the new development only just past (26 votes for, 24 against), and it was widely believed that those councillors who voted for the development received the vast majority of their campaign funds from dirty industry. The new development can be seen in the picture below, side by side with the new housing area. The majority of the land in Solminia was now developed, with only patches of undeveloped land existing around the edges of the city. I'll now leave you with some night-time images of the cities two main avenue intersections. Once again, any comments would be welcomed, and thanks for reading. :-) -
Red Rooster Description: Red Rooster is an Australian fast food chain, specialing in roast chicken and chips, in addition to fish and chips, chicken burgers and subs, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Rooster http://www.redrooster.com.au/ Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: Most of the fast food style commercial service lots avaliable for the community at the moment are very american orientated, as far as I am aware there are currently no other Australian fast food services lots avaliable for the game. This lot would make it a lot easier for gamers whishing to create an Australian themed city, in addition to providing more variety in fast food lots to gamers.

Solminia- An industrial slum.- Part 2- Power and garbage
bestacorn4ever posted a City Journal entry in Dastronica
Garbage was proving to be an increasing menace for Solminia, with little investment in garbage disposal facilities in the city since its founding. The cities dumps were full, and only so much could be recycled. Rubbish was beginning to pile up on city streets, and clutter roads. Citizens were getting fed up, and something needed to be done to address the problem. The city council decided to take a number of steps to help combat the garbage menace. Firstly a law was enacted requiring that all garbage out for collection be presorted, with standard garbage, and different types of recyclable goods sorted in different piles. It was hoped that this would increase the amount of garbage being recycled. Secondly the city commenced a vast upgrade and expansion of its trash disposal facilities, with several new recycling centres being constructed, and large amounts of land being zoned as additional landfill. The garbage problem was slowly resolved, with all new rubbish being disposed off properly, and the existing trash that was dumped on the streets slowly being removed over time. The cities existing McDonald's outlet was enjoying massive success, being the cities only major fast food chain. It would not be long before other chains realised this, and before long the council having planning permission requested by numerous other chains in various spots throughout the city centre along the avenues. Before long the city also included outlets for KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Chilli's among other chains. Before long the industrial sector was expanded again, to meet up with the second North-South avenue, in line with the housing area. The housing sector was also experiencing growth, although its growth was more upwards than outwards. Although no new housing areas had been zones, higher density buildings were developing in the existing sectors. This lead to the need for a second hospital to be constructed to cover the housing sector. Furthermore, increased pressure was being placed on the cities transportation systems, evident by the car accident on the avenue in front of the hospital in the following picture. Despite the earlier industrial expansion, the city was still under massive pressure from industrial leaders to expand the amount of land available for industry. The council decided to take a very bold step, almost doubling the amount of industrial land in a sweeping new expansion. As is usual with government, little forward planning went into this expansion, and it was not long before the cities power and water utilities were being overwhelmed by demand. Brownouts became frequent, and after a few weeks the cities tap water was deemed unfit for human consumption due to increased pollution levels from the factories, forcing the council to temporarily ship in drinking water by rail until water utilities were relocated further away from pollution sources. In regard to power the city decided to take a bold step, and kill two birds with one stone. The council decided to move to nuclear energy, which would both vastly increase the cities power supply, and also greatly reduce the amount of air pollution in the city. Unfortunately a number of citizens were not impressed, leading to round the clock anti nuclear protests outside the plants. Furthermore, in the nuclear plants first week of operation an fire occurred of unknown origin, sparking terror, and fear of a nuclear meltdown throughout the cities population. Luckily the fire brigade quickly put out the blaze before any major damage was done. The following image shows the blaze at the plants, with protesters also visible in the background. The recent troubles with the nuclear plant, along with the increased financial strain it put on the cities budget lead to the city setting up a committee to determine the best course of action for the city in regard to power generation. The findings of the committee will be discussed in the next entry. Thanks for reading, and again any comments would be awesome. :-) -
Solminia- An industrial slum.- Part 1- Initial Development
bestacorn4ever posted a City Journal entry in Dastronica
Ok, so this is my first real entry in my city journal, and its gonna be following the development of Solminia, a low wealth, slum like city centred around dirty industry. To begin with here's a picture of Solminia with only basic transportation infrastructure, prior to the development of the city. Since I'm designing Solminia to be a slum like city, I am planning it rather differently to how I usually plan my cities. Solminia is to have minimal public transport (a small rail and bus system) , and be largely reliant on car travel for transportation. Furthermore, I am going to be using for the most part the streets which are laid automatically as part of the games auto zone style feature (the ones you get if u don't hold down shift whilst zoning). Hopefully this will lead to increased traffic congestion due to the inefficient road layout created by this, further increasing the slum like feel of the city. Anyway, below is a picture of the city with initial zoning, and infrastructure in place, prior to any development of zones; As can be seen in the above image, the city is to be powered by a coal power plant, initially with a large industrial park to the north east of the city, and a housing area, with a few shops in the south east of the city. The city has two north south avenues, and one east west avenue. Initial public transport consists of a total of 4 commuter rail stations (2 in the housing area, and 2 in the industrial area), along with a limited bus system. And now, here's a picture of the housing area with the limited development having occurred on the zones after a few months. And now the industrial area with some development having occurred; A few months later the Solminia City Water Authority was established with the construction of a water pump next to the main train station, and pipes being constructed providing fresh drinking water to all areas of the city. The supply of drinking water lead to an explosion in construction in the city, with lower density structures being upgraded to medium density in both the housing and industrial districts of the city as shown below; After a few more months, the cities residents began demanding the construction of a fire station, in particular due to the high fire hazard posed by the cities industries. Before long a city station was constructed close to the intersection of two of the cities avenues; The city continued to grow and prosper, and before long the city council was approached by McDonalds, who wanted to set up one of their fast food outlets on one of the avenues in the city, both to catch local business, and to earn business from tourist traffic passing through the city on the avenues. A McDonalds outlet was granted permission to be developed on the east-west avenue close to the railway line and main station. A community radio station was also constructed next the the fast food outlet. The construction of the fire station a few months earlier soon paid off with the city encountering its first ever fire in the industrial district, with the cities three fire engines responding, and quickly controlling the fire before it got out of hand; (on a side note, is it possible to remove the dispatch icon things when taking a screenshot?) Meanwhile, garbage was becoming a large problem for Solminia, leading to the creation of the city dump, and recycling centre next to the coal power plant; Citizens were also beginning to cry out for medical cover, given the city was still without a single hospital. The decision was soon made to expand the housing area further west, to meet up with the second avenue, and construct a hospital in this area as part of the development. The development also included another commuter rail station, in addition to the construction of a casino which would bring in more tax revenue to the city and help finance the project. After completion of the housing expansion, a decision was also made to expand the cities industrial area south to meet up with the housing area, and at the same time to rezone all industrial areas to high density. The expansion of the industrial zone can be seen below; The expansion of the industrial district put increased strain on the cities power network, leading to frequent brownouts. Thus the decision was made by the city council to construct a second coal fired power plant in order to keep up with power demand. By now Solminia has a population of around 40,000 residents, and citizens were growing tired of having to wait for police to arrive from neighbouring cities in response to their requests for assistance. Furthermore, criminals were beginning to take advantage of the slow police response time, with crime particularly rife in the industrial areas, where robberies, hold up's and assaults were becoming all too common place, and beginning to effect industry profits. The decision was thus made to construct a police station in a central location of the city. After considering a number of locations, the council finally chose a site close to the fire station, on the main east-west avenue. Shortly after the construction of the police station, it was decided that a City Hall was needed in order to give the council a proper place to meet and hold meetings. The City Hall was soon constructed in the CBD, close to the police and fire stations. A few months passed and before long the industrial sector was again crying out for expansion. The council decided to expand the industrial district further east, so that it would link up with the main railway line heading along the east of the map. The expansion featured an integrated freight and commuter railway station, just off the main line. This further expansion of the industrial sector once again put strain on the cities power grid, which once more lead to the construction of another coal fired power station. With the expanded industrial district creating more jobs in the city, the housing district was once again expanded, this time to the east in a similar way to the industrial expansion, with the construction of another commuter railway station in the new area. It was not long after this expansion that the problem of high fire hazards in the industrial sector raised its ugly head again, with another fire. Luckily once again it was quickly extinguished by the cities fire brigade. This lead to the council enacting a new law, requiring that all new buildings be fitted with smoke detectors in order to reduce the risk of fires. Anyways, thats all till next time, any comments would be appreciated, thanks, :-) -
Ok, well this is my first city journal, and I'm doing it on my region; Dastronica. This entry is pretty much just reserving this spot so i can come back later and edit it, including basic region info and stuff here.

Say NO to Urban Sprawl
bestacorn4ever commented on regionlong's City Journal Entry in You're Hired! | NATURAL and SMART Growth
The rapid transit line is now considered as a waste of space. Should we demolish the line and surrounding area, and redevelop it into higher density housing? No. the elevated rail line should be kept, in order to accomidate for future growth, and avoid future congestion on the underground rail system/metro. How can we manage the number of passengers? Wouldn't this pose an inconvenience? I would suggest that research is conducted into higher capacity rail stations for this area. Which option should we use? I believe that the original interchanges should be kept, due to their higher capacity, and also due to the fact that they r much safer for motorists. But, do they have practical uses? I believe that the movie studies and otehr similar structures should be kept due to their cultural and historical significance to the city, and also due to the bost the the citys commercial sector they provide due to the tourists that they attract to the city. But should they be kept? Should they be demolished and redeveloped into high density zones? I belive that they should be preserved in their original condition due to their historical and cultural importance to the city. Should we do it? I am totally against reclaiming more land from the ocean due to the negative effects this would have on the envirnoment. At the apsolute least, much more research and study must go into the environmental effects of this before it is even considered. Is it worth it? I am in favour of relocating farms to more rural areas outside of the city, and redevelopeing the old farmland. -

yeah, none of these r likely to be added, atm, the only public transport available at release is going to be buses, and they have said that other forms of public transport will only be available to PO subscribers....... and even if u r prepared to pay a monthly fee for public transport, i wouldnt get my hopes up about much being included besides heavy rail... Even Sim City 1 had more public transport at release than Cities XL...........

tonymustang302, i think you are going to be very disappointed......... More in depth, complicated and harder than SC4? rofl...... SC1 is more in depth, harder and complicated than Cities XL and mis-leading and non-direct describes MC pretty well as well....
