  1. Creationism vs. Evolution

The one and only thing that I ponder about that science cannot explain, and that is animation of life. What creates LIFE. Not the atoms and particles and elements that make up objects or all the matter in the universe, but what ANIMATES and creates a consciousness in many living creatures? For lack of a better word, lets substitute "soul" for this phenomenon. Matter can coalesce and create a something, such as elements or cells, but what gives a conglomeration of cells a sentient existance? How can THAT be created? That is the one thing science cannot explain. Not saying I support Creationism over Evolution, or even that I support Intelligent Design, for I really don't support anything, but nowhere has a reasonable answer come from that explains where "being" comes from.
  2. Iranian National Guard threaten US warships

Well, this isn't anything new. At the Iranian-Iraqi border, Iranian soldiers will taunt Iraqi National Guard (ING) and Coalition forces, including firing in the air and throwing rocks and trash at us. It is just like in Korea. There have been little individual border skirmishes since the war ended in the 50's there. BTW not to nitpick, but it is the Revolutionary Guard (IRG), not National Guard. The IRG is like what the Iraqi Republican Guard was, an elite force of handpicked men who are noted for their fanatical devotion.

  14. Texas Playground Spontaneously Combusts

Unfortunately, Glenni, woodchips are very common in school playgrounds in the U.S. It is cheap, easily replaceable, and keeps areas from turning to mud when it rains. I can just imagine what they were thinking... (Hmm, who cares for splinters, think of the economy! This will save us a ton of money!)

They need to be improved, especially Kentucky, people over there are illiterate, that is sad for the worlds richest country. But I did like New Jersey' and Coloradoes answers. New Jersey didnt even hesitate though! But in the end, Colorado won!quote> I am sorry. I do not intend to flame, but the above statement bothered me. I am a native born and educated Kentuckian. As you can surmise, I am not illiterate. There are few, very few parts of Kentucky that are like that. They exist, yes, but illiteracy is no longer as prevalent as it once was. Look to places with large impoverished demographics. Most large cities have a hefty number of uneducated. Before you cast stones, be sure you understand that which you are saying. And it would help if your signature was a little less inaccurate. It is Herodotus, not Heradatos. He wasn't Roman, he was Greek, and he lived when Rome was a very new nation. The Republic of Rome was founded 510 BCE, (Rome was first a kingdom of one city. It was of no importance until the Republic was founded. The Empire of Rome wasn't founded until 31 BCE when the Republic was dissolved.) Herodotus was born 490 BCE.
