@paulvmontfort: Why not?  London is overpopulated as it is, so doesn't it make sense that with that much demand to build way up?
I mean we won't forget what happened in the "Tubes" in 2005, but that shouldn't stop the old city from changing

i think they shouldn't build skyscrapers in london because it's a 1000 year old city with beautiful buildings that shouldn't be dwarfed by super towers just because of demand.

Well something wouldn't fit today but may be considerate iconic tomorrow - just look at the Eiffel Tower in Paris...

Cities may be many thousands years old, but most important thing about them is that they are living things. And they are shaped by collective will (most of the time) of the people who populate them. That human unity develops it's own perception of style, of what is "fitting" and what is not. And this is a key! if all cities would be built with same standards and taste it would be absolutely dreadful, boring! Skyscrapers will fit into London when and if Londoners will feel they do. Period. It is their city first and most of all. I personally see no problem of old going hand in hand with new. Remember if this "preservationist" thinking would have taken roots long ago we would still be in mud huts... But another end of the argument isn't better either. What is good the very existence of this argument. it decade by decade forms some answer and we have to live with it and also RESPECT it. It is History!

I think i understand what you are saying SimFox...London IS historic, but it should change eventually........every city should not be the same....which is hard in a computer game because you can only construct a certain number of buildings

Well, I'm stilling planning to finish it before the completion of the real Burj Dubai (which was postponed to June 2009) *lol

No seriously, I don't have my computer at the moment but I'm already looking forward to dive into my project again as soon as I have the chance. The plaza is 2/3rd done, after that the Burj will be up for being transformed by SimFox' amazing texturing & lighting talents!

Is it safe to say that this is one of, if not THE, most highly anticipated BATs in STEX history? I can't wait to see this tower punctuating the Simtropolis skyline! Please keep up the simply excellent work on your model, Andisart. It is an awesome tribute to the greatest feat of vertical engineering in human history, and the crown jewel of architecture.

NEW UPDATE

As you can see the parts left to be done are the plaza in the front and the back area. I'm also thinking about including tennis courts like in the real Burj complex in the right end corner. 

For the render I put in the tower model just for fun, this will obviously not be rendered together at the end... Enjoy!
