This has to be one of the best city journals out there. I especially love the photoshopping and disaster scenes.

Cities XL works very well for me. I have had several SC4 crashes, yet CXL has never crashed or locked up on me yet. CXL 2011 is much better, more so than Planet Offer mode even. The only complaint I have is that there are no freight trains! What modern-day city has no railways?

Trivordam: The Source of Opportunity

This is one cool CJ. Thanks for all the updates and looking forward to more in the future. -
The game is very good for the most part. I just find that every single service costs so much for what it actually does. The economy is a bit too complex for my liking. Worrying about too many resources is ruining my gaming experience which is to build cities. However the traffic is a major improvement from SimCity4. People will at least take the large roads first and not the other way 'round. Another thing I like is that unlike SimCity4 (at least on my PC), Cities XL has not crashed once while SC4 did it sometimes two or three times daily. I definitely think was worth buying the game as I know I will continue to play it.

Thanks, yeah I've already scoured the photos from that site, which is actually how I got the shape of the building.

Thanks Patriots...that'd help greatly. Never heard of windows live maps before.

Nice work everyone. 60 State is finished, well almost. I finished everything I could see. The base is still untouched. That is due to the lack of resources available online and I don't have the time to fly to Boston to take pictures. So I put this project on hold for now until I come up with something to go from.

I think what I already said was clearly understandable. I mentioned having to uninstall and reinstall. That says it all...sorry if some are too thick to get it...there's really nothing to get. And I was not asking for help...I was just commenting. I assume it's a step I've done wrong when installing bat4max but I won't reattempt it anytime soon. I've found another solution which involves both 3dsMax and Gmax which will yield similar if not exact results.
-
Patriots, about bat4max, I don't have it but I am experimenting with 60 State Street...by texture baking, that is...I should be able to bake the window textures then add them to the model in Gmax when finished. That should yield a similar result.
-
About modelling the windows, I was thinking of writing a tutorial showing how to model them quickly from the building itself. That way there are no useless or unwanted polys.
-
I've added jobs before to my SCFTower but I can not edit the UI or make it growable (grows after plopping).
-
Nice model Scotty...looks great! Thanks to all for the nice comments. Here is my last update before rendering. I just need to adjust the tower base, the textures and add nightlighting. I'll hopefully be able to get it done tomorrow before work.

Which Canadian City do you think is the best??

Kelowna is my favourite. The best climate in Canada. -
With the finish date set for Friday, I'm glad to present another update on 60 State Street. I'm currently working to finish the rooftops, base, and add the nightlighting. I'll need to bake the reflective textures in order for them to show up in Gmax. I'm not sure when I'll get it uploaded as I still have the lot to make. I was unable to find some good shots of the base of the tower, so if anyone comes across any, it'd be of help as it will take some of the guess work out of making the first floor. I'll update again soon after the base and roof are finished. Patriots, good idea on getting a logo. I'll see if I can come up with an idea if I get enough time.
