Welcome to Simtropolis! 39.gif I hope you enjoy yourself here at this great website! 10.gif The Omnibus is a great place to go if you want to know how to build a great city right from the very start and other tutorials are found here to

https://www.simtropolis.com/content.cfm?mode=omnibus&view=toc 49.gif

The STEX (SimTropolis EXchange) and the Modding Files section are the places to go if you want to download things for your game but you need Sim City 4 with Rush Hour or Sim City 4 Deluxe to download nearly everything from this website, they can be found here:

https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=all&startrow=1&category=default&sortby=default 49.gif and here:

Always read the ReadMe file if there is one as this gives useful information on how to download the building into the game. 19.gif

Hi everybody!

I'm not really new here, but I just discovered this thread, so I thought I would introduce myself. I'm iquere, also known as ikkkk at many places around the web (except at deviantart.com, that's someone else). Iquere (or ikkkk) is not my real name, I just prefer to be anonymous. I'm 13, the youngest SimCity fan I know of, and live in Uppsala, Sweden. I have recently started a website called... ikkkk (big surprise). If you'd like to visit it, click here . It's not professional, by the way.

Oh, right, hi you all new members! Welcome to Simtropolis!

Hi dj, welcome to ST!

There are several lots located in the STEX that will give you extra money in the game...just do a search on money or cash and you should find some.  There are also a couple of mods that give you extra cash...they can be found in the modding files sections located on the left side of this page.  I personally use the Simoleon RH mod which can be found here .

Also..FYI there is an edit button available so that you can edit your posts instead of double/triple posting (which is bad form).  If you are unsure of the forum rules they can be found in this thread .  Taking a couple minutes to read through them may save you some trouble later on down the line.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Happy city building,

rhino

djdesigns43: Please use the edit post button above your post instead of posting 3 times in a row as it is against Forum Etiquette.
Money lots can be found here:

To download these lots you extract the download using Winzip,WinRAR etc. into your MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins folder OR Program Files/Maxis/SimCity4/Plugins folder and they should appear in game. If this doesn't work, the building you are trying to download must be a growable which means you have to zone some Residential, Commercial or Industrial zones and get to the required stage to make it grow OR it could be a reward which means you have to meet some requirements before you can use it in your city. Some downloads have automatic installers in their zip file and if that's the case double click on it to open it follow the instructions. If the building you downloaded comes with a ReadMe always read it as it contains useful information on how to get the building into the game. Hope this helps. 44.gif

Suppose I'd better make myself known.

Hello. My name really is Andy McNab, before anybody states it I am aware of that Ex-SAS dude, but it is my real name. (you have no idea how many times people have called my stupid and unoriginal for using my own name)

I am currently a student at Coventry University UK, studying Business Management. I am also a shelf stacker at Tesco. So nothing special.

I would love to contribute to the STEX as there is some wonderful art on there, however i am unable to register with simcity.com. Which kind of sucks and I have hit brick walls with every approach.

Appart from that, nothing much else to say.

Oh, I am also a huge fan of realistic cities and will spend huge amounts of time to acheive a masterpiece.

McNab

hi guys, i joined the other day. I really love sim city 4, i think it's wonderful, i've had it for a while and i recently got back into playing it again. I came here because i'm looking for help making a profit in my cities. All of the cities i have, i can never make a profit. I keep reading about one of the major causes is having too many services, that you pay the full amount for, but it's not needed because you don't have a lot of people in your area yet. I've tuned all my services down to fit the need, but sadly i am still losing money.

Um I've been a member for a while but didn't start posting until today... 41.gif

Well I'm 18, 19 next month, I live in Portland, going to Portland State. I live on campus with a view of part of the city. I love architecture (design and concept not tech stuff) and urban planning/development. It's my major!44.gif

I've always been interested in urban life and loved visits to the city (I used to live near Seattle so I liked going into town). Now I live downtown so whoooosh what a rush. I have a wonderful boyfriend that lives back home in Seattle that visits every so often. On his last visit I got him hooked on the game. Finally!39.gif

YEAH

A big round of applauseto all of you who are keeping this game alive and kicking!

I stumbled across this site a week or so ago and it immediately rekindled my interest in SC4. I installed it again (second time since buying back in 2003) and bought the RH add-on simply to be able to take part in what you are doing here.

I'm currently in my last year at university and will be graduating with a masters degree in political, urban & social geography (Don't know how I could translate it any shorter) so hopefully this will give me an opportunity to practise parts of what I've learnt in the game before going out in the real world 44.gif.

I've filled my downloads folder with BATs, LOTs, Props, MEGApacks, maps and other stuff after learning the basics as a lurker and I must say the game experience is something else with all that custom made content!!! Fantastic work all of you!

Donated a little sumthing to show my appreciation.

Again, Thank you!

(Sorry for posting this in two threads, just noticed this Introduce yourself thread which felt more appropriate.)

Hi everyone!

My name is Raul. I live in SoCal (Southern California) and I am 15 years old. I noticed that there aren't much teens in here but oh well.

I decided to join simtropolis because I wanted to expand my SC4 experiance. If you've notice, the game itself isn't very complete without your plugins.

Just one question. where can I request a mod of some sort to be made, because I have a really good idea in my head? (It involves the highways). thats all I want to know. thank you!44.gif

Never seen this thread before.

I'm Mike , 14, and I live in the UK. I've had an account here for a couple of years, but I stopped playing SC4.

Started playing it again recently, but I've forgot a lot of the basics and I hope to master the game soon.

Have a good one!
