Hi, my name is Josei (I'm a man not a woman lol, everyone gets confused with my name) I'm a 14 year old student going to highschool next year. I'm waiting on whether I will be accepted into the IB program or not. I like to mess around with website designing and stuff when I'm bored and willing to do freelance work on a website if someone needs it face-icon-small-happy.gif. Umm...lol, oh I'm a Japanese American, currently living in the United States and would like to visit Japan eventually. Also, I tend to be a perfectionist and argumental, (I dunno about being a good or bad thing face-icon-small-confused.gif.) I play RushHour and been a member of Simtropolis before, except I kept having withdraws. Now I'm all the sudden interested in Simtropolis again, hopefully I won't be withdrawing anymore face-icon-small-wink.gif. Anyway, I hope you liked my boring lecture. hehe

Hey everyone,

I've actually been on Simtropolis for awhile, but never introduced myself...

I'm a 16-year old from outside NYC. I've been playing Simcity4 since it first came out, but then put it away.

However, once I found out about this community I picked up the game again, and surely this site has made the game a hundred times better and more fun!

Thank you to all who make this place what it is!

-P2U

Welcome to SimTrop ... I'm sure you will always be able to find someone to help you here.

If you are simply downloading buildings etc., from the STEX then you simply have to unzip them into your Plugins folder for sc4 which you can find in your My Documents folder. Then start up the game and if the items are ploppable (that is they don't rely on the game reaching a determined stage) you will find them in the relevant menus. If the item is described as 'growable' then you will have to wait and see if it will appear in the game.

I'm sure that you will find the the wonders to be found on the STEX will bring a completely new dimension to playing sc4 9.gif

If you need any help with anything please feel free to drop me a PM.

I've lurked around ST for a while but was compelled finally to join yesterday because I wanted to offer thanks to a few people. I've said this in a few places already, but I think it's important to give thanks to Dirk for creating an amazing venue and all the work that has gone into the ST revision, to the admin team and all the members that contribute to the strength and vitality of this community. (For some reason I can't seem to get the "topic reply" popup to recognize when I hit my return key, so I apologize if this is just one big paragraph. Hopefully I'll figure it out, but I'm a $%&^!, after all...) As far as an introduction: My name is Scott. I'm in my thirties. I'm in Vancouver, Canada. I'm a musician (drums), producer, writer, and whatever other artsy-fartsy diversion that captures my attention. I work part-time in a private library to augment my bill-paying abilities. I'm on an iMac G5, married without kids (and none planned), and am happy and content with my life. I got back into SC4 after not playing for a while, and am just playing SimCity Vanilla at the moment... I want to remember the joy of the basic game before I get overwhelmed exploring the STEX...! It's good to be here! 44.gif

poops2u,dannylm and shizu00: Welcome to Simtropolis! 39.gif I hope you enjoy yourself here at this fantastic website! 10.gif

leleudbs: Welcome to Simtropolis! 39.gif To download a building you extract the download using Winzip,WinRAR etc. into your MyDocuments/SimCity4/Plugins folder OR Program Files/Maxis/SimCity4/Plugins folder and they should appear in game. If this doesn't work, the building you are trying to download must be a growable which means you have to zone some Residential, Commercial or Industrial zones and get to the required stage to make it grow OR it could be a reward which means you have to meet some requirements before you can use it in your city. Some downloads have automatic installers in their zip file and if that's the case double click on it to open it and follow the instructions. If the building you downloaded comes with a ReadMe always read it as it contains useful information on how to get the building into the game. To download a map, follow these instructions:

https://www.simtropolis.com/for...d=61742&enterthread=y

Hope this helps! 9.gif

What up all, Im CamDragon, Normally I browse the WWIIOL forums, but I've been quite recently addicted to SimCity 4, having gotten sick and tired of the same old SimCity3000 for forever. Here's a question, Can you add more to the list of available styles, like the western stuff from the late 1800's I've been seeing, so that you can maybe start your town with the really old stuff like that?

Hello Everyone, I have been on this web site many times in the last 3 months and decided to join. I did not realize how much this web site can add to the game
play of SC4 . The huge amount of mods and buildings from Stex is to say the least a little overwhelming. I am 41 married with a 9 year old Boy Hockey fanatic and live just outside of Toronto. I am Channel account manager for a hardware computer company selling mostly discontinued end of line computer Equipment. I look forward to applying a lot of the great things on this web into my SC4 and eventually creating a region in CJ forum. Cheers great web site.

I'm Andrew, or drew. I get my nickname from Alexi Laiho - but everyone calls me it anyway. I'm 18 from Sydney, Australia, been a casual player for about 2 years now... Only just started to get some really decent cities going. I play for maybe an hour or two a day - maybe 5 days a week, its the only computer game I really play. No idea how to mod or any of that, I just figured I'd get to know some others who are into the same stuff I am ahy? Cheers.

You know, I'm willing to bet, if you post that once per page, they'll get it. 2.gif

You have five posts on this PAGE! 9.gif

I don't mean to be mean, but really, too much of a good thing isn't as good as it sounds. Maybe you should get others to do that so it isn't you all the time? ;P

Greetings fellow city-dictators. I found my way to this wonderful site a couple of hours ago, in search of more information on SC4. Not having played the game for over a year, and not being able to play it now either, this site gave me comfort and salvation. Seeing all the neat cities built, reading some excellent mayoral journals, etc, made me remember that a big part of the playing of SC4 isn't nescessary the actual playing. Thinking about playing can be just as awarding.

I remember last winter perfectly well... I had a magnificent downtown area wich I was really proud over and the residencies in the outskirts of town, beside the beautiful lake, had me smiling for days.

Having read a lot on this site now I feel I should introduce myself to you all. I'm 25 years old and lives in the Swedish city Norrkoping (two dots over the last 'o'). I've been around computers since I was a child controlling my C=64 with firm hand. I think it was on the C=64 I played Sim City for the first time. But it was Populous to the Amiga that really hooked me into strategy games.

Working part time as a software developer, currently writing genealogy programs and databases, to pay the rent and the occassional beer. I'm making music and obscure computer visuals and I have a strong fascination for medieval european music.

For the first time in 12 years I live without access to the internet wich is a strange yet positive feeling. I actually get more things done, more books read and ehm more games played.

One of my perks is probably that I can write for hours without reaching the end 2.gif

So, a big hello to you all

And a small question regarding this forum: I noticed that it's stated "HTML code is not permitted" in the write-message window. When posting a message the forum doesnt recognize carriage return [enter] so I edited my message and inserted html-breaks where needed. Otherwise all you who would read my msg would just see a huge lump of text. So, if I violated the html-rule I'm sorry but I couldn't find any other way of separating the lines.
