Hi. I need help.

Can someone help me how to add RCI wealth on a lot that is like a landmark type?

Can I create a group of lots? Like "Restaurants" group? Instead of adding them in another group? (Example: In "Police" one)

Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you so much in advance :)

Hi @MauRoVi

It's possible to set or modify the wealth using modding tools including LEProp or Reader (0.9.3).

Here's an example in LEProp firstly:

Landmark Wealth Example 01.png

And Reader 0.9.3 from the Wealth property:

Landmark Wealth Example 02.png

Where:

0x00 = No Wealth
0x01 = Low Wealth
0x02 = Medium Wealth
0x03 = High Wealth

Here's the main exemplar view:

I believe the only groups possible are those that the OccupantGroups property defines. These are the ways that buildings are classed in the game, and as can be seen in the above exemplar for more than one type with this particular landmark (the American Natural History Museum).

See this article for a list of the known groups which can be set.

To this day, I don't really know the exact function of the Wealth property for other than growables. Making the sidewalk adjusted to their respective wealth?

That's my best guess too. (Ofc, we'll wait for the experts to explain.) *;)

I'm not sure about the sidewalks, but there are two important functions of the Wealth property even for ploppables:

  • There are wealth dependant base/overlay textures (even made by Maxis) that will change when the wealth level is being changed.
  • When making a lot (either growable or ploppable) with jobs, it is mandatory that the lot's wealth is the same as the highest wealth level of the jobs. Anything other may cause nasty game crashes. I've even had a case when a lot was set to No wealth and I saved a city with one of these lots plopped there, this caused a game crash whenever I tried to load this city.

As for the question if you can add a group like "Restaurants": This should be possible by just inventing new OccupantGroup codes, but these have no real function, aside from some stuff called BSC Tracking Enabled (whatever that is). If you try to find a way to organize your plugins: I think there are only two ways to do so:

  • Dowload the DAMN manager form the LEX (the LEX seems to be temporarily down, I can't link it). I have no experience with this, you need to find out on your own how to use this.
  • You can modify the Item Order property of a ploppable lot to sort all ploppable items in your Plugins folder. If you think this through properly and develop a clever way to do so, you can at least group several lots together in your in-game menu. As a hint for doing so: You can enter decimal numbers in the field directly below "Values", Reader will change them to hexadecimal numbers on its own. Any number between -32768 and 32767 will work. The lower the number, the further to the top of the menu order an item will appear. Maxis items usually are around zero.

That's the only other use that I can think of.
