Very nice model, Ray. Is it based on a real world concept or it's your own design? :)

Once you play with NAM installed, one simply cannot go back!

I'm waiting for the day when someone makes a Faber College lot for SimCity 4

Own design, Terring, After enjoying some beautiful shots of CoriBoom today, A (Cyclone≈Wind) thought just came out, so I made a draft and then carried out it in the game, Frankly, kind of dislike how it's appearing there, Anyway, I just got some inspirations from Pinterest, I'm going to see what I could achieve in the future, There is a Wind Power Tree, You may like it.*;)

    I'm truly honoured how you've made this inspired by me and with my logo on it too. :}

    Spoiler

The highly futuristic design incorporates C y c l o n e POWER™ technology which creates an increased magnified vortex. During operational service, the blade rotation is rapidly accelerated around the 42nd factor angle. This then establishes perpetual motion that allows power to be exponentially produced from the internal hyper-generator. The dynamic quantification of this occurs so swiftly, meaning the minimum wind speed for optimal runtime is equivalent to a calm, gentle breeze.

Great job of putting the "plant" to "power plant", Ray. I like the organic look of your wind turbines and solar panels, they fit perfect to solarpunk cities. You know, Nature has so many incredible and working patterns that is no wonder why so many technological marvels have an organic feel, since they are all based on structures and actions which have been discovered on various animals and plants. Remember the time where the predictions about the future was more synthetic and technological? Nowadays are more organic and environmental, and I think we can all think why.

    Keep rocking us, Ray :D

@Terring Yes, Terring, we're surrounded by natural light and organic element, Actually I got this plan inspired by your science news for us, along with that I saw some wind-farms in @CorinaMarie's farm as well, then I wonder if i could make some which could be more profitably integrated into our cities?

Maybe they're not quite perfect by now, and I haven't gotten one which can fit rural place (Just one named "statens vattenfallsverk vindcraft" is it English? *:D), I plan to make more when the Wild West project starts. Anyway, this is the last one (haven't finished the color of the leaves:}):

May I ask a question to challenge your trained eyes, What's the height of this tree according to the left picture? Hope you like it. *

    Hi Raymond,

I just researched this with Cori and we came across this site where the tree-shaped wind turbines are explained for the specifications. There it says the height of them is 36 feet which seems about right from our own calculation too. Before finding this, we'd calculated that it'd be about the height of almost 4 metro buses.

    Like so:

    Raymond Tree Height Question.jpg

(So the bus is approximately the height of 2 pink lines.)

We found the dimensions.com site which might come in useful for your BAT projects perhaps, for knowing the scale of everyday objects. This says that a metro bus is about 3 metres (9'10") tall, and then in the pic itself, the tree appears to be 7½ buses tall. However, because the bus is in the distance the perspective makes it appear smaller. We estimated a factor of two, and so our calculations arrived at 3¾ buses for the actual height.

That works out to 37 feet and it turns out the real value is 36 feet (10.97 metres). *;)

Of course, in SC4 there is a scaling difference as you probably know for what looks best in game.

It does look very cool for a future renewable energy technology, which also blends better into the landscape.

You've made a great start at the model too. *:)

Woww! CB, @Cyclone Boom I should consult you before this, Thank you so much, It looks more clearly from the website you shared, Thanks God, It seems i didn't make too many mistakes on this* :

Much appreciate the value of dimension, It's more smaller than the vanilla's wind power so that better blends into our cities.*:thumb:

I really like what you're working on, Ray, and thank you very much for discovering such a great concept. I had no idea about it, so I made some research to find out more. Those leave-shaped wind plates on the tree-shaped structures are called aeroleaves. They work even at 7 kilometers per hour (4.5 miles per hour), they're vertical axis so they'll spin regardless of the wind's direction, and are so quiet that those "trees" can be installed along buildings, streets, rooftops, or even in people's backyards :D

Yes, 1 mile is 1,6 kilometers. Another reason why all countries (especially USA) should adapt the metric system *;)

That's a very nice overpass. We have only a few of them, so some new ones are always welcomed :D

If you encounter problems while making it as a TE lot, there is also the option of making the overpass as an over-hanged prop which will be ploped on a 1X1 tile next to the intersection, just like this footbridge made by Bripizza.

Nice dragon, Ray. With some medieval and fantasy buildings you can create various similar themed cities and scenes, like something out of Lord of the Rings or How to Train your Dragon. You can even turn the airport into... stable for dragons, I guess? Yeah, people could ride dragons instead of horses to get them wherever they need to go. That would be so cool *:8)

    10903vernonDragonweb.jpg

I also like the fact that your dragons can actually flap their wings in-game, showing that automatas can have moving parts. It actually reminds me an ornithopter, an aircraft that flies by flapping its wings.

Basically what I'm saying is, the overhanging intersection lot placed in the corner prevents anything from being placed there, and I was wondering if it would be possible for the actual lot tile to have a slip lane, though I doubt it would be functional...

I quitted modeling a bit for the training today*, then I looked through some posts randomly, Along with my Newbie thought 11, I arrived at CORI Reports:

The most detailed info for Trip Length can be found using the Advanced Query. See @Cyclone Boom's post here or my post here for details on how to access it.

So, while using the Advanced Query (by holding down Shift+Ctrl+Alt) and mousing around, you'll see the extra info as you hover over various buildings. If you are already hovering with the regular query, hold the keys, move the mouse off of the building, and then back over it.

Here's an example of the data for a long (as listed in the normal query) commute:

    7010-4878.jpg

And here's one with a short commute:

    7010-4879.jpg

^ Please forgive that old vanilla Maxis bus stop. This city tile was created long before your eloquent new bus stops. *

Now, I don't know for sure what those numbers mean, but obviously smaller is quicker.

And for reference, here's the Route queries for each:

    7010-4880.jpg

    7010-4881.jpg

    Quote from @CorinaMarie's post,

    Spoiler

This too should be possible. Instead of io.writing-ing the variables one would have to trigger a popup window and then display the values in that. (That part I have no idea how to do, but if you look at RippleJet's amazing Census Repository you can see it can be done quite professionally.

Then I had a wild thought again, I'm really curious to see if I could file:read something and then read them in the game.*:D Anyway, I'd like to dig into this for a moment.

    Edit: ----- -----

Hiya @CorinaMarie and @Cyclone Boom, I have two short questions, I hate to say this again, but do forgive me if I have consulted you about them before.*

    1.  What does [ ] represent in LUA? I couldn't get enough infos from Google, it seems like some String (very long) between them, but I don't think the whole of them is a comment.

    2.  I saw some interesting HTMLs in game's Tutorial LUA script, I just wonder that if I could write some HTML in game, If you have known it, please teach me about it, if not, Just let this Newbie do some tests and trials.*:D

I have a question, in addition to redoing the texture, how do I modify the route of the trains?
