I saw a tut about building roundabouts with streets by @MiniMark, some 6 years ago. But his streets had cul-de-sacs and mine don't. So I'm looking for a file named :

Z_Maxis/_Street_Cul_de_Sacs. (Hope I got the right spelling).

I searched here in this topic and in the whole ST site. No results.
In advance, thanks much.

I'm fairly sure the NAM installer includes an option in the custom install for cul-de-sacs on streets and roads. It may be that you have to run the installer again and check for the option. If this is wrong someone who knows more than me will be here to correct me soon :)

I think @MissVanleider is right. At least I remember the same.

Also there are different looking cul-de-sac mods but I found google finds them ...?

I must be doing my searching wrong. I DID search here and there for "cul-de-sac" with no luck at all. Even the link I posted on my first post. Wish that @Fantozzi would post some links. I'm loading @qurlix's mod and hope it will work.

    Thanks again, you all.

That ain't it. But I will try it, just in case. Anyway, cul-de-sacs or not will not solve the North Korea problem. It's just eye candy, so it's just a minor glitch, but one that will make me understand the workings of SC4, NAM and all.

What about my first post ?

    "Z_Maxis/_Street_Cul_de_Sacs ?"

I'm really curious about that file.

    But I appreciate your answer.

    I searched here

Don't search here; the search function is weak, and there are other sources for SC4 files outside Simtropolis.

Go out to your search engine of choice. You may also try to post in the Can't Find It sticky-thread.

That's what I was thinking. But it's the "Z_" in the file's name that gave me that idea. And merci.

Did you look at this one?

Yes I did. I downloaded all three of them. Tried them one by one and here are the results :

The first one didn't work for me. No Cul-de-Sacs. No good
The second one did work, but I didn't like the look of them. No good.
The third one gave me the default Maxis Cul-de-Sacs, That was good.

Sorry I can't quote who did what and if can find out I'll edit this post.

Too bad about those promised textures from whoever did them in the  SAM folder. I may work a little more on that.
So, until I get used to those Cul-de-Sacs bigger than nature, I'm cool with what I got.

To conclude, Thanks a bunch and I think this the end of the story.

I know this is the month of May, but have a nice Christmas !

Yeah, I think that one is by @Battlecat updating it from @qurlix's first version. Tried it.

No. The one by @_marsh_ is bigger, a 2x2 version cul-de-sac - similar to the nam street roundabout

Ah so... Those bigger than life Cul-deSacs may look good in rural areas, but in the heart of a heavy commercial/residential zone ? That's why I stayed away from them. Mind you, 2x2 Cul-de-Sacs may help traffic  congestion. I'm ignoring them, but I ain't buying them just yet. Needs to try and see.

The NAM version ? That gets me a little confused. I'll get into first thing in the morning -around 6 am- so expect a quick answer.

Thank you for your tip, but I didn't learn anything from your link. I fact, I have a few screenshots about roundabouts which I feel are more are more pertinent.

If you didn't learn anything from that video, I'm at a loss as to how it can be more clearly explained?

What's the point of building things in an empty lot and destroying it, just to build another one somewhere else ?

Because doing it in an empty map means you can more clearly see how it's made, which is kind of the whole point of the exercise.

What about doing them in a congested commercial-residential-industrial area ? Same results ? I'm betting a dollar to a nickel that they won't work without destroying a lot of lots around them.

What has that got to do with the price of fish? How you build them is the same regardless. If your cities need altering to accommodate a new style of transport, that's neither a fault of the developers or a tutorial. Bigger things need more space, but the purpose is once again to show you how to make them. Not provide exhaustive examples of where they might be used and how to integrate them.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.
