Yes I know... Copy/Paste from devotion...

I think that I'm done -completely this time- with modeling for the puzzle factory project  I made four 1X1 pieces to connect multiple halls, and some other things including an art-deco overseer's pavilion and a STR entry as it was asked. Here's an exemple featuring all the pieces made up to today :

The (more or less) 1920's art-deco pavilion with its nightlights (and mosaics ! I love the architecture from this period so I may explore it again in the future) :

Everything is lotted so the last part then is the two prop families for the basic piece, it has 3 alternates in total now (Basic piece, I mean the one without extras - except for the catwalk part which has 3 alternates as well). And then the MML. But the fact is that I have still many other things concerning SC4 to finish apart from this puzzle factory, and some will become quite urgent... (Yes, I have real mandatory deadlines for some. But that's a secret ) Added to that I will certainly be employed in september, consequently I will have much less time to dedicate to all this...

As I quickly evoked in this thread, to be honest I'm familiar with some depressive symptoms (but don't worry  I have easy-access good company now). The thing is I'd like to give the final push to this long project, I now how much of a procrastinator I can be and yet I'm quite tired of it. I may be presomptous, but if someone is ready to make the prop families and the MML that would be really, really nice.

You know I'm already enchanted with this project, but seeing the final result, with all the pieces matching each other is simply fantastical! And yes, the pavillion is also my favourite part, with its bold style and beautiful details.

Sadly, I have literally no idea about modding prop families or an MML, so I cannot be of help :/

So I'm back on the track or kind off, I can't say for sure I will be very active, I'll see. Anyway I have not less than four finished plugins to release, soon I hope, some of them shown here and there... I didn't post the lottings I did for the first version of my Mangini worker's building, it's one of the four I came with an urban 2X3 lot and a 3X3 more suburban one. This last setting may seem weird for some, this kind of parcelling, being quite scarce in France are commonly known as Cité Jardins ("Garden cities"). Basically worker's allotments with a little bit of greenery.

 

And I finally started to BAT the elements of anonther IRL garden city I love, known as Petite cité T.A.S.E, achieved in 1924 and located in the middle of the nowhereness of suburban Lyon. That was the occasion to explore a new style, and slowly comming to art-deco with this lovely early-modernist style spreaded throughout my city :3 I won't make exact reproductions, more like reinterpretations. And I won't make all the different house models present in the allotment. There are too many and I'm still lazy

Allright... I tried to upload this on Simtropolis as well, I added a bunch of images, I even wrote a small information text about Félix Mangini, rich industry boss and private real-estate developer who was a pioneer in the idea of the low-income, pre-designed, adaptable and "ford-ish" workers housing complexes. And I got killed by the infamous expired-page syndrom, as always. It got me edgy, then nervous and depressed, so I gave up. Never mind, here are some more images and the portrait of this geniune, mighty opulent man...

I hope you like them, have fun with it. It's full-HD as always, and this time I even added six custom props. Read-me in both French and English, spelling errors in French and potatoe English included. And that's all, here you go Don't forget that there are some dependencies, linked in the download page. This time it's exactly the same dependencies than in my Suburban Dream pack vol.1 - so if you already have it, no need to get anything else.

General advice, next time you have to write a long paragraph like that, it's easier to do it in a notepad so that you don't fear the expired page or timed out.

Great job Reminds me a lot of my 17 years spent in Lyon. Not my type of building, I play mostly with Latin American content, but it doesn't prevent me from admiring your talent and your work

More seriously, I've always wanted to make some 19th century forts for my cities, I attempted to make a few with various retaining walls and a bunch of trees that weren't that convincing at all. And the late Kbieniu7 entry about the forts around Krakow just gave me the push to BAT my own path away. IN A MODULAR WAY AGAIN. I made a first piece based on Fort de Feyzin achieved in 1877. I had a hard time to make the lawn on the roof look acceptable...

That's a side project I started for my own use at fisrt really, so I don't know where that will lead to and even less when and how that may come out Still, I have some ideas for other pieces. I'll see that.

Really nice idea! In any case, that roof grass will be much more easily done by using plant props than modelling them directly on the main building.

I've nearly finnished the yellow and white version which is one of the color variants visible in IRL Petite Cité TASE... Only a few details to add. Then I'll probably make a fictionnal blue and white, or blue and yellow version so with four variants, we'll get noice repetitive fluctuation effect which is what I intend to see in a worker's neighborhood. So, a future F*CKING TILESET is growing

(...with no faces and no photos on it, of course. I've "borrowed" these images somewhere on the internet as I was to lazy to go myself at the actual location. Maybe, or probably let's say, that the next one will be a compromise between these last two, as the first one I did is already kind of an adaptation... And then I'll make a more simple house model from an other Cité, this time, for sure)

These look great and cute, and great you are doing variations, that's always a big bonus and maximises what you can get out of a nice BAT upload.

Also great to see a different kind of building style.

For the historic modular wall, the grass area I would try to add some little modeled larger pieces of grass to break up the large texture area. This might work against the tiling purpose, but worth a try. Another idea is to make the top grassy part modular as well and have different forms of vegetation to break up tiling.

Added the few missing details to that... And fueled the small greenhouse with creeping plants on canvas hè hè

After that I did a first attempt in 6X5 lotting that leaded to be quite convenient. I was able to place the small central plaza all with sneaky streets... And nine footprints for nine houses. So...

...I started to make the fitting concrete fences I need Of course there will be more usual, regular lottings for every house model comming. But I wanted so much to experiment a little. That was getting boring, and a 6X5 megalot may be interesting for some ?

I'm simply announcing a small upload... Three abandonned houses I made for personnal use basically. Some have appeared in my CJ here and there. Hope you like it... It's full-HD, read-me in both french and english as usual. One of them include kind of an easter egg - I have not done that for long and I was lacking ideas. It's somehow a small story of urban life, told by four elements I think. You won't understand the whole thing happening here if you miss one

I went into this yesterday or the day before... Just kind of a mashup of already made elements, with some new stuff. So it's moving forwards quite quick It will be a 3X4 all-cooked-in lot with a narrow passageway on one side. Just to get some better nightlight reflections on the ground and on the vans in the yard I hope. Maybe I'll put some separate prop version of the van as a useless piece of junk bonus somewhere in the folder.

Also I forgot to show this. I changed a few details before exporting this fourth - and last - version (the backdoors I think).

I like the houses too, we have the same around here. But maybe could you make a less dirty version ? Like if they were refreshed... And another point : the windows of the groundfloor seems a bit too transparent, especially where there's tiles background. Sinon, c'est un très bon travail !
