WIP of one smokey restaurant to go with Lakeview V2.... (ignore the lack of a roof lol)

I just thought about this, but this building could double fairly easily as a BJ's Brewhouse with some slight changes. I was thinking the Arbor Walk location in Austin, TX.

Do you have idea about what is what? If not 42,000 could be a Academy Sports, 86,000 could be a grocery store, 18500 could be a home centric or Burkes Outlet. Ik this isn’t my work this is just a idea.

Texture wise they do share a similar look, but I see some major differences in the architecture. If you're mentioning this as a brand I might not be aware, be assured I am aware of it. It was becoming quite common for them to take over sites left behind from old Sears auto centers for a time. It's a brand on my list. :D

I have the tenant rooster figured out already.

This type of Shopping center design feels similar to the Silver Spring Square in Mechanicsburg, PA, but with only one main tenant large enough for a Wegmans or Target to fill.

I'm actually taking inspiration for this from a center in Ohio and combining it with one of the ideas I had shown earlier along with another idea or two. Creative liberty at work. You aren't wrong about one large tenant though. Likely was an old department store that was subdivided.

And it looks I'm committed to pursuing the latest plaza layout design for sure:

    x.jpg

I know this is a unique design, which is something I don't normally do, but I based this off of the IRL location in Boardman, OH. This is the standalone 30,000 sq.ft. building seen on the last post of page 57. The building itself isn't too far off from the architecture style I have in mind for the shopping center making it ideal to do.

If all goes well, I should get this done today or tomorrow. Then it is on to the lotting.

There is a possibility that I may need to spend some time making props. (A sign for this plaza is needed for one)

I wanted to ask if that Aldi could be a standalone or a mod for a custom shopping center.  This looks more modern than the 2010's version.

I actually was already considering making a version of it into a prop building as I figured some may like a standalone version.

Yeah. I realize there are way more designs I could do, but it might be just a bit too much to do all possible options.

Not necessarily. They just are so common of a sign I figured I'd make them.

I have made 40 of these signs at this point. So much for only doing a few. lol

Been a while. Regarding your Gas Stations collections, it would be nice to have a Dash In (southern Maryland/central Virginia c-store chain) and a more recent 7-Eleven, akin to these three  concepts and five designs: Mid-late 2000s, mid-late 2010s, and their latest dine-in concept. You can do these in any combination if you like, if you get around to designing another pack.

Also, in case you are doing anything retro, I would like to start with a "cheese grater"-style Giant Food of the 1960s, or a "neighborhood mall" with grocery anchor that was common in the '70s and '80s, namely Livingston Square in Fort Washington, MD or Huntsman Square in Springfield, VA. I always enjoyed such an idea and I'd love to see it in SC4 just as if the concept were revived in real-life.

If you are suggesting these out of a lack of activity on my part, rest assured I'm working on things behind the scenes. Planning, researching,  textures and prop making take time to get right. I've got a few ideas on the way.

I did do a 7-11 in the Harrison Hills Village Center, so there's at least one your ideas met already. 7-11 is one of those brands though that is so big it doesn't hurt to have a few options, so maybe a variation is warranted. I actually had looked into Dash-In for pack 3, but like Parker's Kitchen, it didn't make the final cut. If I do get around to a pack 4, I shall take these into consideration.

That Giant is interesting looking, but I'm not certain it would be a priority.

That is an interesting idea with a supermarket plaza/mall. Something I have seen in photos, but hadn't considering making. Funny enough, your second example in Springfield has since been de-malled, so it would be kind of hard to base something off of it.

Prop Pack 3 has been updated. For the sake of convenience, you can find all that is new in the file in this post. The regular prop pack has been updated to include these.

I would of liked to have done a few more buildings as props, but I haven't been feeling the best lately.

I agree - I'm not in a rush to see any of these in game, it's if you ever want ideas or have been running out of some. Take as much time as you need.

I did forget, but while those other designs have subtle differences, it would make sense to see a standalone version in a potential pack 4.

As I said, a vintage retail line would be nice as well if anyone wants to recreate the past in SimCity 4 or whatnot.

To correct, it was Livingston Square that has since been torn down. Huntsman is still soldering on, likely as it is newer, busier and received a remodel in 2016. There are other examples such as Fair City Mall and Rockshire Village Center, and you can find more across the country if you dig enough. If you do, it can be pretty much any supermarket chain.

My bad. I guess I got the two centers confused.
