I'm not entirely sure if this is a failure or just a learning curve...

Anyways, I am trying to figure out the ways in which I can create the actual starting points for highways. Everyone is making all these nice intersections, overpasses and switch lanes, but every highway just needs to start somewhere, right?

So, all in all, my goal was to try and start a highway from a suburban road intersection and then use widening tiles to make it diverge into RHW. Does it look like a reasonable setup to you? *:P This is also literally the very first time when I use RHW!

I think this topic is a great idea, @Haljackey. So here is one of my recent failures: I keep running my city at cheetah speed and lose sight of the power stations. So they blow up and devastate my industry, which is close by.

But then I discovered, it is much worse. I used @KOSMO*'s Electrical substation. I think it looks really great. Only when it explodes it leaves a radioactive wasteland which shows very clearly in the desirability of the dirty (!) industry.

Somewhere I read, it takes 10000 years to clear up. Fair enough.

I am sure I will have more to contribute on the subject of failure in the future.

It turns out, there is a solution that works even if implemented after the disaster: Simmaster's Extra Cheats DLL has a cheat code called SievertBeGone. It removes all radiation and that did the trick:

Replaced the image and slightly changed the text so the post becomes clearer by itself. Before it only made sense together with two quoted posts.

Are you sure you're running SC4 or rather 1990's "Stunts"?

Well this made the crash more fun

Windows detecting SC4 as not responding is unsurprising due to all the single threaded work it does. Windows doesn't like it when apps stop processing OS messages for long periods.

Adding to the text mod discussion from that mod's reviews:

will it mingle with other text loading mods?

I don't know if it's possible to have more than one loading text mods and do be honest I've never tried it.

It should be possible to use multiple text loading mods by redoing some of the IID values, but that would use more memory when loading a city.

The way the game loads those text strings is that it starts with TGI 0x2026960B, 0x4A5CB171, 0x0A6DEB35, and keeps incrementing the IID by 1 until it encounters a LTEXT resource that does not exist or possibly some other error. The first non-existent TGI in the base game is 0x2026960B, 0x4A5CB171, 0x0A6DEC0D.
