Forum Game Rules

Just a reminder to new members to Simtropolis and veterans of the site alike... 

Replacing the old 2-Post Rule (2PR) previously in effect, there is now a 1-Post Rule (1PR) which applies to all Forum Games topics. This means to reply again inside any given forum game, there must be ONE other poster who replies after your previous post.

Some trivia-based games with their own anti-spam rules are exempt from the rule, but like the rest of the forums, spam is not allowed in any of the threads.

If the rules are broken, we will take the appropriate action if things get out of hand. We want everybody to have fun, but we also want everybody to get involved in the games as well, so that's why the rules were implemented.

Games that are duplicates or very similar to existing games are discouraged, so please Search the forum using the search bar at the top of the forum home screen, or check on the forum games index.

The site staff aim to monitor the games on a regular basis. Anyone with questions, comments, concerns, etc. is free to PM a staff member.

Remember that this forum is for forum games, not for spam, personal vendettas, political discussions, etc. Please keep it pleasantly off-topically on topic.

Ah, of course. There has to be a thread. I'm surprised it wan't replaced sooner. Anyway, here's a diagram for effect:

 

Post 1: John Doe

Post 2: Joe Blow

Post 3: Jane Doe

Post 4: <<<Now, and only now, is John Doe allowed to post again. If you can wait longer, that's great. But this is a minimum. Posting on Post 3 is wrong, and Double posting is bad in any forum unless you have a really really really good reason for it.

 

^^^So there you have it. Forum gaming made simple. And if you're an idiot that usually ignores and/or forgets this stuff, the bright pwetty colors should attract your atention and help you remember it. So there's no excuses now.

Well, hopefully this will avoid the possibility of threads being closed (looks over at the once closed avatar thread) and everyone will follow the plain put rules in the forum. Anyway, glad to see them posted and stickied again!

You had to add more emphasis? Why not have a permanent banner on top of the games section saying that, or delete any of those posts and warn the person about it. And can't you ban people from certain forums?

Not really. You see, I just did that to prevent confusion, as it did arise, especially over games that are suppose to be exempt from the rule. Nothing in the rules has changed. Only the clarity has improved to prevent further misunderstandings. I hope.
