Dirk has now changed the PayPal form to an alternative method, which should hopefully simplify the checkout process for donations.

I've checked with @Dirktator on this, and can confirm an automatic email will be sent to your address provided after your donation has been processed. If you'd like to opt-out of receiving a STEX disc or digital download, that's completely fine. Please send a quick reply to the email making this known.

Should you not receive said email, I'd recommend sending Dirk a PM here at ST.

I made a donation through Paypal.  I wasn't sure if I would be charged an exchange rate from CA funds to US funds given that the site is apparently owned in CA and I'm in CA, so I added a bit to make up for any exchange that might be added.  Paypal did also add the exchange, so that's okay, but I was wondering if there is a way to make a donation in CA funds without being charged the exchange?  

I'll have to re-send my reply to the email sent from ST to make sure I specified digital download clearly.  Good to see that ST is now using the HTTPS protocol. I suppose the security encryption also includes any uploaded or downloaded files as well as web pages and text messages?

I'm not the expert in this regard (I'll have to check with Dirk), but I believe Paypal is only setup for the exchange to US Dollars.

Yes, HTTPS is now enabled sitewide for all pages including file transfers. It really is a much needed addition in this day and age of security.

Saturday morning, rain is hammering on the window, thermometer shows 4°. The family drove for the shopping center (the annual secret "christmas-coming-soon-shopping-tour" where daddy isn't allowed to join) and the dog lies in the basket next to the heating. And there lies a new STEX DVD on the desk, waiting to be put into the drive.

How fortunate I am to know - at least for the next hours - this gonna be a great day.

when money allows I would like to donate and receive the DVD that my winery was on, but I have no idea which one that was. Is there a list of STEX Collection contents anywhere? Or can a moderator (or user with the disc), verify which one has Shottesbrooke Winery on it,

Hi I did the Paypal donation but have not yet received the email about a digital download. Just wanted to check in - I didn't have a Simtropolis Account when I donated, I just created it after when I didn't get the email if that makes a difference.

I've maid a 50$donation for a 3cd's download yesterday on paypal. I wasn't subscribe yet here.(Lost usersname after 5 years since i've never play SC4, i have STEX no1and2 from your site yet)

I know you guys are having issues with the automated system.  I sent a reply email yesterday, but I'm not sure if it was received.  The digital downloads links do not appear to be working, and the email says they expire in 2020.  Since it's 2021, I assume that was an honest mistake.  Can you look into this?

Just an update to the above...

I've implemented a server side redirect which will resolve it should this happen again for the wrong links being sent. It's quite technical, but basically this means that providing the links requested are previously valid, they'll now point to the new current location on the server.

As best as we can tell the linkys do get sent out, but some ISPs simply eat the email prolly out of a misguided fear that the linkys inside are dangerous. (They aren't.) No worries tho, we can help via the Private Message (PM) system here.

Well, this is inconvenient. I'm getting Error code: 2C137/2 when trying to send the PM to you. This being Sunday and the massive site backup by our host is going on which bogs things down such that we won't be able to run the tools that'll fix the error until way later this even or tomorrow morning.

Will it be alright if I send you an email? (We'll be asking about your PayPal transaction info so we don't want any of your private info to be here in this public topic.)
