Thank you for a speedy response but I am sad to tell you I have already done this. There seems to be no response for when I look into the mail icon it says next to Dirktator: Not Read Yet. I do not know if all of my information (ie Address) was received and I am just trying to make sure it has so I have a definitive answer as to whether or not I will, actually, be receiving my "gifts"

it's been 4  months  since i donated  . and  still no disk  . i've sent 2 pm to dirk and no respomse from any of them . kinda  of let down  .

When sending abroad: It might be an idea to consider using envelopes with bubblewraps instead of relying on nothing but thin paper for protection, none of my 3 discs that I recieved,  worked...

Were your disks physically damaged?  Or was the copy process incorrect?

No there was no noticeable physical damage, but even a slight invincible bend is enough to make it unreadable to devices (I've worked with repairing audiobooks as my job). The typical humming noise that sounds like a lawnmover when the cd spins for eternity, was present on all four different computers I tried the discs with, so it's not a cranky drive's fault either..

Send a message to Dirk stating you have defective disks.  Sounds like they are warped.  There is a faint possibility of head alignment problems at the recording end.

Donated $60 end of May, but still no discs. Emailed the STEX guys but no reply....kinda wish I'd seen this thread before hand now as it might have given me second thoughts.

 

Does anyone know if they send them out with some sort of tracking or postal order? I have asked but they haven't replied yet

 

Its nice to contribute to this site as its really useful for us SC4 players, but it is a bit misleading regarding the STEX discs....it says on here delivery within 10-15 days....perhaps they need to change this if its not going to be the case. Its a lot less frustrating having to wait if you know in advance its gonna be that long, rather than expecting a 2 or 3 week turnaround and it taking much longer. Or if sending the STEX discs is not possible just remove the offer altogether and just ask people for straight up donations...might be less lucrative I guess but least folks won't be disappointed.

I did consider this but as someone in the thread whose been waiting longer than me has messaged him and not got a reply back, just feels like that would add to the backlog (which I assume is the issue...its all guess work at the mo!).

 

Getting SC4 withdrawal now as didn't see the point in continuing with my cities until the discs arrived, but I'm getting to the point of giving up waiting

They'll be coming, I'd say two weeks is probably minimum time for them to get to you. They'll be there in the next few weeks.

The explanation is quite simple.  These CDs are produced and shipped by Dirk, the webmaster, who has many things on his plate.  If there are none in stock, the wait may be as long as two months or more.  You will get them.  Be patient.

Well, If we look at what you say in the Donation page, then we can see that,

 

"To make the Monday shipment, your donation must arrive before 5pm EST the previous Sunday."

 

That is why I donate you earlier than Sunday. You also say,

 

"All in all, we found that the average wait time is about 10 to 15 days."

 

So you never say that it may take up to 2 or more months. If I do not get it in a week, then I must ask you to return my money.

Try contacting Dirktator again, around the time you donated we were having major issues with the system, that has all been fixed, and it is likely your donation has been missed.

Hey I'm wondering if volume 5 is out. The notice that volume 2 would be discontinued at the end of October is still floating around as well.
