Two intersections in a city that i have recently started. I have just come back to Cities: Skylines and am enjoying it, so many new mods that really open up the game. I have just been experimenting here with props and decals. The ground should be Owls Los Angeles theme but it hasn't reloaded.

I plan to make a Los Angeles inspired city here, generally low rise and sprawling, i just have to find more commercial assets and try to find some residential ones that would fit in. Its slow going till i can get some new RAM that works in my PC. I have been getting memory crashes.

For the moment I'm working to rebalance the traffic in my city. Started to put some commercial deep in my city and noticed the traffic backup stretched outside the map.

Mass redesign of the city's retail district and other parts of the downtown area. Might need to rework some road infrastructure for the buses and maybe space out the tram corridor down the middle of the the one way streets so I can have more effective traffic crossing otherwise it'll just cause jams and blockages really easily.

Might look to condense some of the other parts into a tighter packed core. The city centre itself actually spreads out quite a bit.

That's alongside some wider terraforming and housing redevelopments too. The port of the city will be moved. Depends on what I feel works. I have tram routes to replan alongside redoing all my bus routes.

Which map are you using? I live in the area and it would be fun to make a miami with better traffic LOL.

Hi, the map is Mangrove Beach (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=458935786)  It's not a Miami map, but with the necessary adjustments you can create the same vibes and feel.. The same crazy traffic comes along with it though lol

While i am still tinkering with my last city, i have started a new one. Trying to incorporate some curves and break my habit of square grids. This one has a more European and low-density theme, although at some point i will have some more modern districts.

Presenting my newest complete city: Welcome to Schlossberg, the former capital of a European style Monarchy

The city is based on the NordeHaven Map http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=503297993

Unlike the first city i presented on this forum, my goal for this city is to follow the natural landscape as much as possible, and avoid using all square grids. Aside from the "new business district", the rest of the buildings are done in the European theme, with a lot of custom assets to give it variety. I also decided not to jam every unique building into the city.

It has 7 different subway lines (connected with multiple track subway stations), 3 rail lines, 3 cruise ports, one cargo port, and 1 international airport. There is extensive "satellite" communities.

Here is the aerial view:

20170801233315_1.thumb.jpg.19e533a5b723b1a27e100a93925b3824.jpg

Here is the area where i first started. Lots of UK style terraced housing (the "modern" incinerators have since been replaced with a more realistic looking one)

20170717124638_1.thumb.jpg.5f08d8ea2ffda14180b97229dc6826c6.jpg

More terraced style housing as the city expands.

20170717124617_1.thumb.jpg.818baad51fafa3481b1ae4aa614c2306.jpg

The "Schloss" of Schlossberg (German for palace): The former imperial palace and its gardens are now major tourist attractions.

20170801234909_1.thumb.jpg.544a5d7cf1993a70de5028ba0cc55775.jpg

The Basilica by the Sea, originally built to bless and honor seamen, now surrounded by commerce and tourist attractions (as old European churches tend to do)

20170801235014_1.thumb.jpg.33d580c6673edd98d538fd52293b7ccb.jpg

The airport, in the outskirts of the city, linked to the historic downtown through a rail line.

20170801233257_1.thumb.jpg.545e406eed8defbc9aa0b034193e3b77.jpg

One of the lakes within city limits, surrounded by low density homes that rises gently up the hill. Some 1% types built some massive mansions right on the shore to take in the view.

A bedroom community nestled in the valley among the hills. Citizens enjoy a very quiet and bike-friendly lifestyle. You can see the "new" cbd in the background, the only skyscrapers in the entire city (the rest is historically protected)

One more shot: Using modular park assets, i placed a "national park" in the middle of the city close to the palace. The observatory is placed there to take advantage of the darkness.

Working on adding plants to the central park of the city. Most of the city's tram services stop here.

Been working on something I may turn into a CJ, basically imagining the colonization of a new island in modern times. Here's the main port area (basically 50% of the entire town at this point):

A couple more WIP screenshots of the mangled mess of roads I'm trying to strand together. I'm hoping I can tidy it all up once the layout is finished so that it'll look more natural - I just need to find a texture pack and LUT that give the right look... and, there's got to be a better way of making elevated merge/diverge lanes that I'm just not aware of yet.20170815234818_1.thumb.jpg.6f47d820354cc88a9e1bb0af982a5279.jpg20170820233757_1.thumb.jpg.c91d77fd77773314857c45eb0515282c.jpg

Oh, enjoy vacation man! What a sweet time.. I wish i have some too :X

To your screens: on first screenshot, tress on upper of screen looks a little bit too organized.. I think it would be better if they are not perfect straight lane.

Last screenshot is really, really good one. I love it. If you add some patches or so on road, then it would be 100% realistic view! Good job and enjoy your time :-) Maybe you come back with some new inspiration :-)

I'm not quite finished, but it's largely just detailing, finagling a railway along one side and building placement left to do, so I feel like it's worth showing the building process at this point.
