Perhaps I missed it, but:  at some point, did the Diagonal Bridge Enabler stop working?  Is it perhaps a conflict with RRW (though I can't get it to work anymore with road bridges, either)?  It still does a splendid job of banishing the water... but damned if I can actually draw the diagonal bridge anymore.

For reference:  I'm using NAM 34.

I've noticed it doesn't like RRW too. Although the road bridge should be fine. I had to load a NAM 32 install (without RRW) to get the DBE working. This is less than ideal, if you've newer NAM content then you might have problems when returning from building the bridge. If you do this, make sure you backup the save files first.

Also make sure you remove all slope mods before using DBE. DBE is being rebranded ABE (Advanced Bridge Enabler) and these issues should be ironed out when that is released.

Sorry for my bad english.

The FLEX-SPUI pieces are not in a good state, it's another one of those things that is in transition towards a replacement. Essentially code changes elsewhere have left this very unstable, you might find it works, maybe not. You'll find out when you drag the RHW under the SPUI if the RUL code can handle this setup.

As for the ramps, you can't use the new FLEX-Height ramps. This is one of the last pieces that relies on the older "Depreciated Ramps". Note these will not be installed unless specifically selected under RHW Options during a custom NAM install. However, assuming they are installed, it's the RHW 4 height ramps from that item you are after.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Clicking around might stabilise that connection. Crossing multiple networks so close with other pieces nearby can sometimes lead to unsupported in RUL setups. Adding diagonals into the mix increases the likelihood of the problem.

There seems to be a problem with my SAM, I can't get it to work like before. I place the starter piece, but when I drag out a street, it just makes a regular street, leaving that one tile of whatever SAM type street I'd placed.

I've attached some screenshots.

I've never had problems with SAM before, am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Re-run the NAM installer. Ensure the option "Enable Decoupling of Networks and Rules is NOT checked.

Just to say, after further investigation, a patch for this problem has been made. Stick the patch (attached) in the DBE folder and don't rename the DAT, it needs to load after the other files.

Hard to know, it would appear the RUL code is missing. Since that's all handled by the installer, are you sure you've selected to install the SAM option?

If that is the case, can you check In "Plugins\Network Addon Mod\Street Addon Mod\Textures" that you have the textures, paths and T21s installed here? Also is there a file SAM - Core.dat?

And now, for something... OK, boring, but still annoying.  This is from a clean install of NAM34, with the alternate El textures option selected; the High-El-over-Monorail item is producing, well, this.  Would anyone happen to know which textures are missing here?

The issue is caused by using ML's El Rail with regular Monorail, that model doesn't appear to exist. I know compatibility with ML's BTM/HSR is maintained in this situation. Looking at the model I can see that what you have there is actually the BTM crossing under the EL. Since you don't have the BTM installed, you end up without the textures. I'm 99% certain from a poke around the NAM files, this combination was never supported.

Having found a model for the draggable crossing, I've re-ID'd/rotated it and made a working override. Place the attached file in

"Plugins\z___NAM\El Rail Alternate Implementation\Core Files"

Where it should fix this problem :). I'll get the fix into the next NAM release. :update: - As of NAM 35 this problem is fixed.

As an additional bonus, try loading the files in "Maxis E Textures" after z___NAM. It should improve how all your avenues look when the networks cross by adding in the sidewalks/grass. :). Both EU/US versions included, use only one set.

Indeed it does all appear to be present...

In which case I'd have to conclude something is conflicting somewhere. Have you tried removing everything except the NAM from your plugins folder? If you open a test city at this point do the SAM streets work?

If that fails, remove the NAM (so your plugins folder is empty) and install it anew and test. Let us know what the results of these two tests are, that should provide some enlightenment here.

Just wondering if this is a known issue or if there's something wrong with my NAM folder. Any ground RHW network trying to go under a diagonal level 3 RHW network

result in thisiXSs5ps.jpg

Starter pieces and clicking around the network doesn't help.

L3/L4 items are inherently unstable. You might find some diagonal setups work, but you'll have more luck with ortho crossings.

@rsc204 Thanks for the response. Also any chance a patch could be released so that the ground level highway ramp seen below can function in the same was as the level 1 ramp in this situation or is that pretty much set in stone?

A starter piece on both sides does make it work properly but I'm really tight on space in this interchange. :D

That's a matter of adding the relevant overrides, which (like most other "fixes") can't be released in a patch since they need a new controller. The next NAM probably won't have RHW additions, but I'll see if I can fix a few errors.

Cheers

I'm under the impression that the 7.5 elevated road on slope piece should be showing a sidewalk texture when a lot is placed next to it, it doesn't seem to be working for me. Works on the 15 as the picture shows. I do not have any sidewalk mods installed and NAM34. Is this a piece that has not had a texture change or is something else disrupting it?

My EU versions are fine with NAM 34... could be the US textures, but the piece itself should be fine.

If it matters I noticed yesterday the 7.5 elevated avenue viaduct also does not show a texture

Yeah I'm talking about the static pieces, not the FLEX, maybe I just need some direction in placing an on slope FLEX piece? Some Tab and rotate?

Apart from a few specific setups, the FLEX pieces can do everything and more than the static ones, so use these instead. They're pretty simple to use once you get the hang of it. They're at the back of the tab ring of the Draggable Elevated Road Viaducts button. Once placed, you have to drag road up to the on-slope piece, but not through it. Think of it like dragging two dead end roads with the on-slope tile in between.

Missing texture at SAM8-FAR2 intersection at center left of image. I'm not sure if this one made it to the thread yet.

kKdcXwj.jpg

My preferred workaround is on center right - extend road a short way into SAM street area.

As far as I'm aware, there isn't any support for any SAM - FAR road crossings at this point.

Code wise that's a can of worms. Bear in mind, SAM generally has quite limited support compared to the regular streets.

I find using a road junction instead, before transitioning to SAM in these cases works quite well as you have shown.
