Hi all first time poster hope this is the right place if not forgive me

starting playing sc4 a couple of month's ago and really like it and now getting into the realism side of things

my prob which has more than likely been solved a long time ago but can't find any info on it is.

i have the LHD version installed but all road marking's that are included in the NAM 31.2 are displaying for RHD.

so far i have re-installed nam, cleared out and deleted the plugins folder and today i completely uninstalled

anything and everything got to do with sc4 and done a clean reinstall of sc4 deluxe with a "complete standard Install" of  NAM 31.2 after making sure it was set to LHD.

any and all help will be gratefully received.

But the pathing is fine, right? Probably they haven't made a proper texture for the LHD TuLEPs(?).

Did you try selecting the Left-Hand game option in the NAM Custom Installation menu under Traffic Driving Side?

That's what he said.  I think we need more information about his game and his system.

Yes, however, the LHD option is not under the "Complete Standard Install" but under the "Custom Install;" more clarification is needed.

Hmmm... Tried my left-hand game with the same settings. It does appear that the RHW cosmetic pieces have the 'right-hand' textures with 'left-hand' paths. Even tried some of the Euro texture options on the NAM installation.

I can drag NWM under L1 RHW no problem, but if I put MIS anywhere nearby it deconverts. Haven't tried L2. Seems to be an issue with stability, as NWM doesn't appear to support more than two consecutive intersections.

I have uploaded the new NAM 31.2 from NAM 31 and now my TuLEP along with highway interchanges don't work..it appears as useable but when I click to use those options in my game, it just shows as a red arrow, even when I click the tab button to go to all the options.  I have no idea where I went wrong.  I've used the custom upload when upgrading to NAM 31.2     Any pointers??

Sounds like there's an old controller version knocking around. Do a Binary Search (Remove one half, see if the problem persists, etc) on your plugins folder to find it.

Hi, was advised to post this here.

Basically I'm having a problem with the High Elevated Rail bridge, in that it is not displaying correctly.  The screenshots would explain it better than I could.  I'm using NAM 31.2.

The first screenshot shows the bridge selection screen.  Hopefully the text is clear enough, but it does say 'High Elevated Rail Bridge (30m)', but as you can see, it appears to be using the normal bridge models and also appears to be missing pylons.

    uYKWJcA.jpg

The second screenshot shows the bridge after it's been built.

    VLAndJ0.jpg

Does anyone know how to correct this issue?

First of all, the 30m/High Elevated bridge is supposed to hook into the 30m/High Elevated puzzle pieces, not the regular draggable Elevated Rail network.  Beyond that, it looks like you're using the ML El-Rail Facelift option, which, from the looks of things, may not support that bridge properly.

I found and removed the ML El-Rail files, but there's no change in the visuals.  Thing is, I don't ever recall downloading that mod, and it was found in the z__NAM folder.  Also, I've looked everywhere in the NAM documentation and for youtube videos on how to make a high el-rail bridge without using the normal draggable, but I simply can not find any instructions on how to do that.  Are there instructions somewhere?

Moonlight's mod is an optional item when installing the NAM and is placed in the Z__NAM folder. Perhaps you selected it without realizing it. I think it's called the Alternative El Rail option or something like that. If I remember correctly, the mod didn't support that bridge. Even prior to NAM31, the bridge would appear as above.

For a high El Rail bridge, you do use the standard El Rail tool to drag and select the bridge. However, after dragging the bridge, you can use the High EL Rail pieces (straight pylon or no pylon pieces and the High-to-Standard transition piece) found further down in the Misc. Trans. menu to link up with the El Rail network.

Thanks for explaining how to do it.  This is what I've got after removing the Alternative El Rail folder.

It's almost like it's missing the model for the pylons.

Thanks, that worked.  I noticed when running the installer that the 'Basic Additional Bridges' option wasn't checked, so that must have been it.

Also, as an experiment, I ran the installer again and selected Moonlights El-Rail option and confirmed that that also causes graphical oddities (ground texture and support pylons floating in mid air under the bridge).

    Hi all,

Quick question -- is it possible to place FLUPS underground puzzle pieces under monorail and SAM tiles?

I know those pieces don't exist for all the SAM networks.  I would think there is a monorail piece, but I don't know off the top of my head.  If it isn't in the FLUPs menu, it won't be anywhere else.

I think SAM pieces would be easy enough to make.  Copy the 'under-street' piece and change the texture.  That only takes a little bit modding knowledge.

This appears to be an installer bug.  It appears that the installer is installing the correct files for the Euro textures, but I'll have to verify that they work; could you also please try the Euro textures?  In any case, the LHD textures are not installed unless the Euro textures are selected, and this is wrong.  (For example, you'd want the American-style textures with LHD for Japan.)  This will be fixed for NAM 32.

    any other ideas????

I've heard that someone has successfully installed the NAM on an illegally downloaded copy of SimCity 4. What he did is he applied the 1.1.638 and 1.1.640 patches but didn't crack the exe. He just mounted the 2nd disc via DAEMON Tools and that made the game bypass the "Please insert disc on CD-ROM" error. Any plan for the NAM installer to detect and delete a mounted ISO in the future?

Ah but someone like me has had to copy the files from my SC4 disc onto a daemon tools drive because my disc was dying. If this is illegal I was not aware and promptly buy a new copy of SC4 preferably off Steam.

Contrary to the belief of many, EA has not hired the NAM Team to police the usage of their software.  The fact that pirated copies of SC4 don't work with the current version of the NAM is simple a side effect of the fact that the NAM installer now requires SC4 to be fully up-to-date with patches before installing the NAM.  The fact that this generally is not possible with pirated versions of SC4 is not considered to be a bug by us.  So no, there are no plans for the NAM installer to detect and delete a mounted ISO in the future.

It's not clear to me whether this case is technically illegal or not.  Whether or not you buy a version from Steam, you're running diskless either way, using (presumably) a fully paid-for copy of SC4.  If you want to be really safe, you could always just burn your Daemon Tools copy onto a new disk; then you'd just be replacing a (legal) defective disk with one that works, and I don't see how there could possibly be any problem with that.

If you have purchased the CD version from a proper vendor and your install key works, then you can do whatever you like to backup the software.  Setting up the play disk as a virtual disk using appropriate software is a form of backup, so having such a VCD mounted at play time is merely a convenience.  Additional software for the VCD is usually required to convince Windows that the VCD is a mounted CD.

Is DDRHW broken in the current NAM?

No, but it's RHW-based now, and there is a minor issue with the starter piece.  We've flipped the majority of the starter pieces across the board on the NAM draggable items to use the "vanishing construction lot", so you no longer have to bulldoze the puzzle piece "handle".  However, the IID reference on the DDRHW starter still refers to a non-vanishing "handle", which, as it no longer has a model, appears to be vanishing, but actually isn't.

Try bulldozing both behind and in front of the DDRHW starter piece, and then drag RHW through it.  That should address the issue.  I've already corrected the starter to become properly vanishing for NAM 32.
