Would it be possible to add props, like trees and benches to the ped-mall pieces, instead of the single lamp-pole?

If possible it would enable more realistic pedestrian streets, and broad sidewalks for the glr-avenues.

I would also be interested in how to do this, if it is a very simple procedure.

Different style "working" traffic lights would be nice. So far on the stex all i've seen is lots that aren't TE'd 15.gif

Ever heard of SAN? Subterrain Avenue Network? It was made by xdesign team. It looks pretty interesting. Do you think you can work it out to be draggable?

Not sure if this has been requested (I couldn't find it), but I don't think there is a way to make the GLR / Avenue go under the elevated highway here.

But how do I get the GLR/Avenue piece to go under it?  There is a GLR/Avenue network on both sides of the onramps.

Can somebody make an elevated straight to diagonal puzzle piece for roads/one ways and avenues?

And on avenue/motorway junctions, can someone make the slip road go thru the avenue instead of us having to make an intersection at both ends of the junction.?

Although I said I won't be modding until the near end of october I had sometime, although not enough to do anything big, to make a Elevated Highway over Avenue Roundabout intersection.

UNNAR.jpg

As you can see there is a glitch with highway barriers, but I think I can fix that.

Also there is random bit of pavement, which is possibly fixable.

NormalAR.jpg

There is also a slight problem with the normal Roundabout, but that will be fixed very easily, just a matter of IIDs

UNNAR2.jpg

It is possible to drag avenue out like a normal avenue roundabouts, but obviously not under the highway.

I still have to add ramps from the highway to roundabout, which will/may take a long time.

That is exactly what this game NEEDS! that i havnt seen anyone working on at all except for you! please...finish it. ha. im supirsed noones gone after this, this shouldve been a big request before turning lane avenues and rhw, since these are really all over britain.

Oh. I suppose i should make a request while im here.

Asda and Morrisons, more UK shops please. Id post pics, but theres really no good ones anywhere.

These are good for alot of people making UK themed cities,  so they dont have to use all those american ones.

Here is an update on the Interchange shoown above, like before the avenue does not have to be connected, it is just to to show it can, the bugs from the previous post still exist, just connections for onramps have been added, The picture contains 5 puzzle pieces, the 4 onramps that already exist in game(OWR ramp) and the puzzle piece I made.

Some textures need to be made obviously for the OWR going into the Roundabout. So anyone capably please volenteer, textureing is not my strong point.

azninoverdrive uploaded a RHW intersection to the STEX a few hours ago, but this upload resulted in quite a bit of controversy in the RHW development thread. This is because it wasn't up to the standards of the team (plain textures, TE enabled intersection, etc.). However, this lot is a great start to a RHW intersection like this. I would like this idea to be taken further in development and ultimately put in the next NAM. Here is the link to the file: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=18813

Try dezoning the area that you want to place it.  Sometimes NAM pieces (like hole digging lots (which aren't NAM, I know) and some puzzle pieces) will create an invisible zoning tile where they once were.  This usually works, let me know if it doesn't.  By the way, this should be in the NAM support thread...

Psycho_Teddy: That is most likely in development I am in the NAM team but not the RHW team, Also you can effectively use Avenues to create that interchange, I'm sure that has been explained in the RHW thread recently.

Greetings,

Is there any way to make the current Y stack (avenue) smaller? I have a highway junction I'd like to use the Y stack for, but it is quite large for the area in my city. Thanks!

seanohio: There is currently no way you can do that with the current Y-stack in the NAM.

However, if you were to be creative, I'd bet there would be a way to make it smaller using the avenue/one way overpass puzzle pieces in the NAM... However, it would have sharp turns (90 degrees), so it would look quite unrealistic compared to the Y-stack itself.

Anyways, thats the only way I can think of thats the best space-saver. Give it a try if you want, it might actually work out for ya! 2.gif

Thanks for the advice! I'll tinker with it. The only reason I mention Y stacks is because I like the realistic look of the ramp-lanes.

We have elevated [subway] rail and underground subway which are both the same type of network. We also have standard rail and now GLR. I would like to see a ground version of the elevated and subway rail so link the two - so you can run subway trains under, on and above land in addition to GLR and standard rail. I would imagine as we have now made use of interchangable ANT networks we could just 'extend' the existing elevated and subway network to its on ground in between.

Hi Andreas -

being a picky soul I'd like to use a continuous skin though - ie. the same type of track instead of paved track. Granted we have plaza'd or track graveled skins on the draggable GLR but I would like just plain boring rail so it looks like an urban rail rather than a light rail system.quote>
Just realised I can download this off the STEX as the classic texture addon.  Sorry. 43.gif

Also @Warrior - the elevated highway over the avenue roundabout looks excellent.

Are there any plans to make the avenue round about take street, one way and road connections also or just avenue ? I have found it messy having to put the two tiles of avenue to road, etc. 15.gif

Otherwise VIVE LA NAM - EXCELLENT mod. Thanks to ALL involved

Please re-instate the El-Ground onslope puzzle piece that would allow an elevate highway to connect in 2 tiles smoothly and farily invisibly to a ground highway that was "one ground lifter space" raised.. 4.gif

This was in the last NAM but for some reason was deleted in this NAM. If you don't wish to release it as part of the NAM, please release it as a STEX item. Little to no work should be required as it was actually in the NAM before.

Whoopsies:

nohiwayws0.jpg

I find this piece to be FAR superior to the "extended ground to el transition" piece that is included. Both of these were in the former release. I have used a number of these in my cities, and now they are non-functional and "invisible" on my city tiles.

The one I wish allows much smoother transitions and take only 2 tiles. And you can have intersetions immediately adjacent to them. The long transition ties up 6 to 8 tiles where you can do nothing. Also the new one is just UGLY!! unless it it on absolutely flat, smooth ground.

Just for grins, I used the "built in" transition method recommended in the NAM doc's. Trying various methods (using road to "fix levels" and by dragging ground TO el or by dragging el TO ground and by fooling around with how far apart the parts were with el approaching the slope or the ground approaching the slope, I came up with this set of pretty ugly transitions.. Not a one of the even close to the old "on slope piece" method.. independent of the fact that many of these techniques forbid the placement of intersections in the near vacinity of the transition.

EDIT: This issue is a mistake on my part due to installation of an older version of the NAM.. sorry..

Thanks.

I hope for every custom interchange possible. Is that too much?

Also, I like the avenue roundabouts, but I was hoping for a 9 or 16 square thingy in the middle area of them. Then I could place cool-looking landmarks in the exact center of my city where I have all the main avenues meet. Or are they already there? I don't know, really, just a suggestion.

I don't know if this has already been requested/done, but has anybody looked into making 5-6 lane one-way avenues?
