Ohhh the seaduck What a great idea of doing that classic plane.I always loved the cartoon series and i always wondered if the plane is actually based on a real one.

Reading through your Games List....so you are planning on doing conversions from these games to Simcity 4?Does this also include buildings?(please say yes...please say yeas..especially rom GTA 4....)

Also the busses look great and will be a nice adition to our SC 4 Fleet.

The only thing that could be changed is that weird looking nose from the schoolbus..

I think the seaduck was loosely based on a real plane.

 

I am planning to make these Models for Sim City 4 aswell as the other

games listed at the top of this thread(page1),this includes any buildings,

props I make to.

 

GTA SA,GTA4 & Maybe GTA 5(once the pc version is released)are all on 

my list as games.I have exporters for GTA SA & GTA 4 just trying to learn

how to setup the models for proper export & function.I will add pics once i

get a successful import in those games aswell as the other games.

 

As for conversions of models already in other games to sc4.I could do

that but would need premission to release a model in those instances.

I am currently making my own models so i am not doing that as of yet.

 

I agree on the nose for my school bus so I made a new nose for the bus as

i did not like how the original nose came out,now it's based off the international

chassis.The passenger part is based on the bluebird body.I separated the

passenger part from the nose(as a separate file)so i can easily create new

noses(engine compartments or front ends) for it.

Ahh,now the schoolbus looks much better with that nose.

As for the seaduck,i found out that it is a mixture of a Fairchild C-82 and a Grumman HU-16.From the first plane they took most of the body including the tail construction and the Grumman was used for the nose and the amphibian ponton thingies.

Wow,now that`s an Improvement.Kinda like the newer Internatrional Trucks (and everything that uses an International Front Clip) because of the retro-esque styled grill with lots of chrome,just like in the old days.Okay,found out that most International Schoolbusses come with a yellow painted grill,but they still look great.

The cool thing on Schoolbusses is,exept from the front clip and the painted livery (and some minor details) they always look the same.This should make it easier for 3D Modelers to change the frontclip for something different,lets say for something more vintage like the 1960s GMC Nose or an 80s International like in this wikipage: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carpenter_Body_Company

 

Besides that,your Orion Bus starts loking great,too.

Noticing the seats in your schoolbus,i guess you will also add seats to the Orion,right?

I wonder how much of these details will show up in the game.

I do like the international grill designs aswell that's why I am modeling mostly that design.

Yes i will be adding the seats to the Orion VII as i did on the school bus & my other Orion bus.(page1).

The seats are mainly for other games with more details but you will see it a bit in sc4,My bus pack above

3rd post from the top has my Orion I bus for sc4(Short-Long Version) & you can see the seats.

& Yes that is a great thing the designs are mostly the same,makes it very much easier to change the front ends.

I have an update,I added a new nose to make it more like the older internationals.

I made a low floor version & Short Low Floor Version,I am going to make a

Short of the original i made soon.

 

I got the idea from the Asheville transit Orion VIIs as they have a low floor.

 I am removing the un-seen polygons on my orion I short bus from page 1

as i am trying to make it automata in sc4.I am going to optimize the rest of my

models as well,especially the buses as the polys are high.My Gillig Bus on

page 1(the long version)actually has only 723 polys which is not bad & it's

complete for the most part.

 

Update:I have finished getting the polys down on my orion I short bus,got it

down to 1,337 originally was 9,419.I am going to try making it as automata

now.The biggest issue is the cylinders they go through polys fast,also had

to remove the interior but that's just for the automata models of the buses

(in sc4)unless i can find a way to add it with less polygons. 

 

I am going to do the same with the long version of that bus too.

A street light. Those I have seen up here in the north of Germany usually don't have an outstanding post. And mix the thickness up. I would say both parts should have the same diameter

I may make one like that,I was just trying to make a different lamp fixture & decided

to make the whole thing.I like to change designs a bit when I can to add my own to
the models I make.

Here are some more updates on my models that i did today.  

 

Here is yet another one of my old models from 2006 that i made
in gmax now moved to 3dsmax an old house i made(based off my
Great Grandfathers House).I have fixed it up & re-did all the main 

walls & the roof,still a bit more to do on it.
