Wow, I really like the BEMGE! Not only do I love the curved wedge shape, but the windows are very interesting as well. Nice choice of building and excellent recreation!

The courts are very nice as well. Nice and brightly colored but not oversaturated.

So I think now you can make the materials shinier. For example, I think in the blue and yellow volleyball court, from the side maybe you should be able to see reflections of the white net pole. I would try increasing the glossiness and reflectivity (especially the glossiness) until you get subtle but noticeable reflections.

But you'll also want to switch to night, and make your lights, because you'll also need to consider how much the light bulbs should be reflected in the court (for example, if it was an indoors basketball court you can always clearly see the lights being reflected because of how polished it is). I never played much sports, so I don't know what it should look like. But I feel like when I've been in them at night, they have a special feeling because of the unique lighting.

I'll take advantage of the fact that I'm showing off this old render from 500 5th Avenue to say something I should have said earlier. In recent weeks I have received messages from some members asking about some models that I have not shown for some time, such as Maracanã, Copacabana Palace, Hearst Tower and that residential building. My apartment has been undergoing renovations since November of last year - yes it's a huge renovation - and it's so messy that we've been staying at my aunt's house for all this time. However, when we left home I forgot to sync my Dropbox from the other computer where I usually do the BATs, where I keep my files, so I only have old versions of some of them and I prefer to wait to go home to continue them. They are: Maracanã, Copacabana Palace, Hearst Tower, 500 5th Avenue, Prypiat Azure Pool, Parc Avignon, Colégio Loyola, Mineirão, German Apartments, Skatteskrapan, Palácio Tiradentes, Sophia Building. Basically all the recent projects I've been showing I started in the last months.

Ok now I have all of the variations to show. There are just small details to add (some small basketball lines, benches and plates in some courts). One more thing when I was adding poles next to the goals of the soccer field, I noticed it was just too wide. Checking it's real dimension it was 7 meters wider than it should! So now it's lot is not that big anymore.

The covered court with parking: the 3x3 version is the one based on the real thing, the 3x2 is because I think it looks less weird. I'll add some better painting on those ugly walls.

Some days ago I noticed my thread had reached the 3rd page on this forum and it was getting colder and darker down there so I decided to bring it back. Unfortunately not a new upload or updates in other projects - I've never been so busy in RL like right now -  I'll only show these two buildings that are in the fridge for a long time and I added some textures just for these renderings.

There are three other buildings that I think are not worth showing yet because they are really in early stage: the small building with glass facade in the right side of Concordia, a very narrow but long building  behind Concordia, and finally those 'twin towers' back there.

Obrigado! Definitivamente sim. Apesar de estar parado há anos, é um dos que pretendo finalizar em algum momento por ser um prédio bem diferente.

Here we go with a very glassy update.

My last upload was made April 2020, and since 2014 I have at least one new file on STEX per year. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep that in 2021 though, but I'll try my best to make this old frozen BDMG Building (Banco de Desenvolvimento de Minas Gerais) available soon.

 

Palácio Tiradentes is actually being redone. Like all of the first models I posted here, I decided to do that because my models were extremely messy back then and since I noticed I had improved in modeling like 3 years ago, it worth it to start some of them from scratch again.

 

I also decided to start remodeling the Hearst Tower like almost two years ago and it is closer to the finish line now than it was the last time I posted about it here, even though it's a whole new model. A few things to model on the roof and on the ground level, mechanical floors, test some blinds configurations and, of course, texturing. The view from above on this one will definitely make me do several tests on the glasses properties to reach a good result - I think it would be something slightly between greenish/blueish. This kind of glass facade with a modeled interior as I'm doing in the last models I'm showing is new for me and I'm using Google Earth 3D views and some aerial pictures as references trying to do the Hearst Tower. Regarding those inclined glass windows reflections I'm going to test a ground map as a semi-sphere instead of the usually plain one to make sure they look less weird than they are now.

I can't believe I managed to release it 8 minutes before 2022

I learned a lot doing this one, the first with major glass facades and interior. Not a wonderful result to be honest, but it's better than I thought it would be.

After you originally posted it I forgot that you were doing it, and I occasionally look at it to do myself. I was even looking at it earlier tonight! So it's good that you posted an update!

I actually think that the glass is a little too busy. Maybe the ground plane texture could be made bigger?

Overall though it looks great. The vertical ribbing on the penthouse turned out very nice.

Yeah it's another model that was just getting moldy on my HD for quite some time. I mean, I wouldn't mind if you or any other BATter decides to work on buildings I'm working on at a snail's pace, the worst the community would have would be two options of the same building at some point, that would be awesome

I must admit, I feel a bit embarrassed about the delay in responding to your message. Even though I read it and intended to reply later, it completely slipped my mind. My life has been incredibly busy for some time now, and I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.
Regarding the texture, I currently use a rather simple and unattractive one that I experimented with in the past. However, I'm quite certain it's not the ideal choice

I'd like to give you a quick update. Even though I don't have any major news on new projects to share right now, I can assure you I still love to do this. Sometimes I do small stuff on some models, you know, brick by brick I'll have a building sooner or later

In the meantime, I've decided to provide more frequent updates on the models I've already released. I've never been an expert at modding (and I still am not), so I've always chosen the simplest methods available. However, after learning a bit about PIM-X with you and releasing those sports court models two years ago, I felt it was time to enhance my older files. The recent update regarding a significant and simple issue at the Wellington Hotel was the catalyst for me to finally begin this.

Today, I made some updates to the Wellington Hotel (yes, again) and also refined the data for 10 Grand Central to make it more balanced. Now, they have a precise filling degree—I literally calculated the volume of the entire properly scaled 3D building and divided it by the PIM-X provided box. These updates are available to both CAM and non-CAM users. Additionally, I've filled in all the description languages that PIM-X allows me to, so players in other languages can enjoy descriptions in their own language as well - probably they're not perfect, after all I don't speak 17 languages and almost all of them were automatically translated

Nevertheless, I probably still have much to learn, and if anyone discovers new issues with these updated models, please let me know, and I will endeavor to improve them.

It seems you are in love with the architecture of Manhattan from the late 1890's to the 1920's? I know I am! Though i love that the skyscraper boom peaked in the 30's with Art Deco becoming its own unique style, I am fascinated with the style of those early skyscrapers; the European influence on the buildings, the terracotta, the Gothic and Renaissance influence and all those mansard roofs. It was a really interesting period and American cities look so different now.
