Is there anyway that somebody could make a mod that would disable R$ low density homes(which I think show up until the middle state four's), but still allow the apartment(high density) buildings from appearing? I just hate those little houses that look so small and unrealistic.

I have a quick question to modd experts: which file/exemplar/property shall I edit/change to switch off the annoying dog barking noise in the background that appears whenever you get close to a residential area? https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/42.gif
I am willing to spend time searching by myself, but just wanted to make sure I'm not just trying to reivent the wheel.
I already looked in the simulator and automata files in simcity1.dat, but nothing jumped to my eyes.

I would like a mod that allowed you to transport criminals from city to city like you would with utility deals.  Housing criminals in a city for a certain amount of money a month would be awesome.

Another mod that would be great is the ability to set up neighbor deals with cities that don't touch each other.
 
Finally, how about a mod that would allow you to bulldoze landfill.

I'm wondering, is it possible to override the existing avenue texture system with one uniform texture, like so:

*sorry, it's in PNG, couldn't be bothered changing it to JPG, it'll have to do - I'm in a bit of a hurry.
The reason why I'm asking, is because I'm starting to get tired of seeing those ugly brownish green sections, and I like em green.

Try my Avenue Sidewalk Mod from the STEX. I have made several mods that remove the grass textures from the game's networks. My texture mods cover roads, one-way roads, streets, and avenues. They are listed as Uni-Density or Sidewalk Texture mods.

I'll would like to see us having the option of having to choose different season cycle. That is, Winter, Fall, Summer and Spring. and let us control the weather from the God Mode section. I mean have various weather patterns in your city. Rain, wind, snow etc..  i know it has been metioned before but it really needs to be done.

Woko, there is already a modd by RalpaelNinja that stops abandonment and dilapidation. It is in the Modding Files section.

Is it possible to widen highways? make it four lanes each direction instead of three?

I have a mac at home so unfortunately, I cannot mod (I would if I could though). Is it possible to have a mod that extends the length of your trains? I know the NAM does this, but the file also changes a whole lot of other things I do not want changed. If so, I want the freight trains to have a minimum of ten cars and a maximum of 30. I want the passenger trains to have a minimum of five cars and a maximum of 20. If anyone decides to do this, please post here or PM me. Thanks!

In Europe, suicide lanes are always right beside the other lanes and not in the middle.

That means we have to create two mods.

It is possible to expand highways but it should fit on the tile and the capacity will be the same.

That's wrong. There are 'suicide lanes' on some two-lane roads (i.e. they become three-lane roads then), and they would be possible on multi-lane roads, too. In Europe, however, it is just uncommon to build such roads, though it would be possible.

But I've got another idea, and I think that it could be easily realized by our talented roads modders:

If two one-ways are runnig next to each other in the same direction, then a modd should make them join into a large four-lane one-way. The capacity would double, to a fine 4,000 cars per hour, and pedestrians would benefit from much wider walkways on each side of the street.
 
The inner lanes could be a bit wider (41 pixels) than the outer ones (37 pixels), like on avenues.
 
 
What do you think? It would be just, what we've been waiting for, wouldn't it?

Finally someone has realised a dream of 8 lanes! Hoooooooooooooooray. If you were to have a road that was three or 4 tiles wide then surely you could have a 10 or 12 lane road?40.gif

Seeing massive 6 lane highways with huge cement barriers on the side is never very homely, can anybody make highways that are only 2 or 4 lanes wide, but carry more people than an avenue or a road and dont have cement barriars, either on the side or the middle, and mabye some small dirt roads too, add some variety.

My request is simply more options for taxation other than property tax. I remember SimCity 2000 had a Sales and Income Tax option in the ordinance box and I would like to see a slightly more accurate version of that return. 1.gif

Is it possible to make a mod that automatically adjusts funding on civic buildings (schools, libraries, hospitals, etc) to match the needs of your city (ie, when the number of students at a school increases, the funding increases to match, when they decrease, funding decreases)? I'm sick of having to deal with strikes every 30 seconds as my cities grow, but I would rather not waste the tax money to max out funding where it is not yet needed.

is there a way to make combination zones like residential/commercial so that you can zone more compactly.  it would be more realistic to have minor commercial services on the bottom floor of appartment buildings.  this is common in dense cities like london, paris, new york, and san francisco.  just a thought, expand if you wish

It would be nice if it was possible to make a mod that lowers the required bridge height that allows ferries to cross under. It's really frustrating. Thanks.

Organic Farming Ordinance (replaces Carpool Incentive that everyone says has no measurable effect)

Cost: based per farming population
Main Effect: Greatly reduces water pollution from agriculture.

Minor Effects: Slight benefit to R$$$ demand

Note: Normally large-scale farmers do not like being made to use organic growing methods. However, the monthly cost here goes to pay for the difference in the price the farmers would have to spend to grow this way, so their reason to complain about it goes away.

If it is possible, and if no one else is interested, and if I can figure it out, I may end up trying to figure this one out myself.

How about a train length thing, all my trains are miles long and are very annoying on mono and el where it causes like traffic and stuff.

I tried to do it myself but its not working and making my trains all buggy.

If you could do it 2 min and 5 max would be most realistic.
