  1. Hey weirdo! Read this!

Date: 10/3/2005 10:45:13 AM Author: DuskTrooper I have discovered that breathing on these new digital thermostats (like the one we have)is an effective way to switch the A/C on without 'touching the controls', as my parents and siblings always insist.quote> Here's one: I went up to our old thermostat to try this idea of DT's out, and right as I got up to it, the thing kicked in. That was (pun not originally intended) very cool. Here's one about me: Most people have five senses. I have seven. Number 6 is the ability to tell where a person is in the house. (Actually, if the person goes by me, I can sense {without paying any attention to them from that point on} whether that person has left the room--even if I leave the area for a little bit. Number 7 is the ability to tell when a CRT device has been turned on or off. udriveitmissionsrock signing out

  4. the creativity here is incredible

Date: 9/27/2005 3:06:53 PM Author:kkelly9 i wish i had even 1/10 the imagination that the creators who make and post stuff here have. i had shelved Rush Hour for quite some time until i got tired of my other games and picked it back up. looking for new buildings to download from the maxis website, i happened upon a link to this site. i have already spent hours just marveling at all the creations you have all made hehe. its like you guys have made an entire expansion pack on your own, just out of love for the game. im not real computer savvy so im still trying to learn which kind of files go where, but i tip my hat to the designers who clearly put alot of effort into thier creations. quote> Yeah, this is the think-tank for all things SimCity related. If you want to see some other really cool creations, then check out the STEX (if you don't know how to get to it, then go the to top of the page and find that section on the left that reads ST EXchange). Welcome to ST and enjoy your time here. udriveitmissionsrock signing out

  6. Landfill Eraser... it works!

I don't think that I saw anyone post this in this thread, but here is another idea that I read somewhere else on the forum. Credit to the person who thought of this first, whoever you are! If the city that you have garbage problems with touches another city that isn't being used, then zone a massive landfill in that unused city and set up a garbage deal between the cities. When the city that is taking the garbage is full, simply delete the city and all of the garbage is gone! No waiting for landfills to decompose, it's just gone! udriveitmissionsrock signing out
  7. Expanding a Region After Youve Been Playing It

This is what you want to do. Open the config file and then you will want to tell the Windows picture and fax viewer to open Paint to modify the file (I am assuming that you are using Windows XP, because if you are using a Mac or a earlier version of Windows, this probably won't work quite as I described). When the config file is open, move the mouse to the top of the screen where it says View and click on that. Move down to the point where it says Zoom and then click on Custom. When the window opens, click where it says 800%. Then, press Ctrl+G to activate the grid. Each of those little blocks in the grid needs to be colored according to the size of the city that you want. The chart below will help you figure out what color each pixel needs to be. SMALL CITY Color one of the pixels red. MEDIUM CITY Color a 2 pixel by 2 pixel box green LARGE CITY Color a 4 pixel by 4 pixel box blueBefore you do the pixel coloring, you will need to figure out exactly what size you want the region to be. When you figure that out, press Ctrl+E and in the width and height categories, enter the number of pixel that you want the region to be in each direction. Remember, a small city is only one pixel and it is red, a medium city is a four pixel square and it is green, and a large city is a sixteen pixel square and it is blue. If you were to screw up and have a solitary green or blue pixel where you wanted a red pixel, the game will get confused and at the very best you will have a hole in your region when you reload the region from inside the game. I know that a hole in your region sounds bad, but trust me, it can get a WHOLE lot worse. So, if you have never done this before, be sure to make a back up copy. If you have done this before, then make a back up at your disgression. udriveitmissionsrock signing out

  11. BAT Projects - SimGoober

My industry needs some serious help. What type of industry will it be? I have dial-up induced laziness, so, if I missed it, I will check later. I will have to check out the STEX. Any idea when it might be out, cause I am leaving for summer this week; and my grandparents don't have a computer. Also, SG, I don't know if this is an honor to you; but I thought that after what I said about the PlayBoy Mansion that you made, I thought that I would put my 100th post here. udriveitmissionsrock signing out
  12. PS3, Xbox 360 or Revolution?

The rumors about the Revolution only being three times as powerful as the GameCube may not have any official merit, but unofficially, it is almost guaranteed. Like hummer said, they didn't make enough money off of the GC to be able to afford the latest and greatest in chip design. I have a friend who has a friend that had a GC. He had Super Smash Brothers Melee and he played it all the time. In fact, he played it SO much that his mom threw the GC out of a second-story window in their house. After he got the money for a new console--he went out and bought and Xbox. This kid sang Nintendo's praises for years, and suddenly, he switched sides. He now loves his Xbox, and he said that he wasn't sure why he loved his GC so much. So much for fanboy loyalty. Nintendo has been on a downward spiral ever since the original PS hit the shelves. No offense intended, but it is funny to see how the Nintendo lovers always talk about how the graphics aren't important--even though the wallets of the rest of the console buyers vote exactly the opposite way. Even Nintendo doesn't think that way. They know that the graphics are important to attract buyers. Why would they put so much effort into the new games. Super Smash Brothers has this flower that shoots flames, and it has killer graphics for those flames. In fact, [:0]*one of my few complements for Nintendo*[:0] those flames look better than any set of flames that I have ever seen in a console game. One other point that helps to prove that Nintendo is failing. It is a known fact among people that have studied Japanese culture that loyalty to things like the company you work for is a time honored value. Yet Nintendo has had lots of people voluntarily leave the company since the release of the PS. The same thing happened to Mazda. You may see a lot of Mazda ads, but do you see many Mazda's on the road? So it will be with Nintendo. udriveitmissionsrock signing out
  13. Fairveiw (My first CJ)

Congratulations on starting your first CJ. I hope that you have fun with this. If you want another place to look for ideas, though, check out New Rhodesia. It is a favorite of mine, I think that you will find some great ideas in it. EDIT: I never thought that I would get to witness the birth of a new CJ and be the first to post. udriveitmissionsrock signing out

Even if it was legal, Who would spend the time making the cds and sending them out? quote> I bet that dirk would be willing if it meant a steady flow of money.
