I put this in the wrong place first, sorry, I get confused with all the different threads, but I am wondering if there can be a mod that will work with our real time. I notice that turtle speed the days still go by too fast, or at least one that will make one day last alot longer. Thanks!!

By the way, could you make it an option like the mod for 'Super Demand'.? Were you can check it in the ordinances to turn it on and off.

Okay, Hordijk.
Hello, Simtropolis guys...
I am a Japanese-American and am starting a special cartoon project. So, since I'm making the imaginary cities of my comic in Simcity 4 I would like a MOD that gives a city a Tokyo-esque style with a little bit of advanced-society tech in it. Hopefullly that's not too much to ask.
Thanks.
EDIT: And of course by that, I mean skyscrapers, packed people and sleek structures, and all that good stuff. To see some good examples of Tokyo buildings, go there or visit images.google.com and search for Tokyo Buildings. Trust me, this brings up a lot.

Dear Tropod

I would like to have a mod made. This mod would allow me to turn off and on certan demands for industry. Right now i cannot control my industry. it grows high tec and mfg. not dirty industry.

This is what i am asking:
Could you make a mod that would place three ordinances in the City Ordinances areas.
One would say Increase Dirty industry, the other would says Increase Manfucturing, and the third would be high tec.

If you could that would be of most helpful nature.

Sorry, I hang out on another board where your'e not allowed to edit your post after 3 minutes (WERA roadracing BBS). Boards are different, gets confusing. But my request is a pretty good one for the time, would love to slow down the days in the game to real time.

editing ordinances can and has been done, but adding new ordinances has never been done. I've tried it myself only to find out it was all a bit more complicated than it looked at first sight.

Hi, I have a question about something that may or may not be possible to realize.  I often find that there are local areas of my cities that I want to keep a certain wealth level, whether that be a high-wealth community or a lower-wealth ghetto.  I'm wondering if there is any mod (or perhaps this is even a LOT question) that would be able to put a wealth-level cap on a given local area, e.g. a radius of 15 or 20 tiles, so that either 1)only low-or-med-or-high wealth levels could develop, or 2)only wealth levels up to a certain level would be able to develop.  I haven't saw that something like this exists, and if it is possible to create such a mod I think it would help a lot of people achieve an added level of realism in the game.  Thank you very much for your time.

i have an idea that may coincide with the new bridges being made by smoncrie and jeronij. one of the problems i have with making bridges is that when i want to make it higher, it simply turns red because the land isn't high enough. so what about a mod that makes it so that no matter how high you make bridges, the game will always create a landfill underneath to hold it up. that also makes it easier to use retaining walls to create an eye-candy anchorage! come on, back me up here!

I don't know of any mod off-hand that does this: directed @ Drudru7029

you could mod a lot to create higher land values easily with the SC4tool program, or check the STEX for already modded parks as there quite a few that will assist you in doing this
or check the MODDing download section for demand mods (Ralphninja's radical ordince v2 comes to mind as 1 that alters the demand charts, there are others there as well)

I don't use these cheat mods outside of my sandbox regions, I use the make historical to any R$$$ that grow in the area i want to keep R$$$, and just bulldoze any lot that grows in the area that is of lower wealth, also put a lot of parks in the area, the flower garden, the plaza and skateboard parks are one of the best ones to use to keep land value high

this will also stimulate other R$$$ to move into the area as R$$$ like to live close to each other

this also helps later on if you wish to have higher stage buildings, of R$$$ , as the game doesn't let lower class buildings take over higher class buildings

just watch out for lower class sims taking over  higher class building in what is called dilapitation.  this will lower land value and cause the higher class sims to mave away
just remeber...the game unmodded will desire aprox 1:2:4 (R$$$:R$$:R$) ratio of sims in the region to keep it ballanced

Thanks Tolomar,
However, what you write I already know.  Creating homogenous high-wealth areas is easy enough; my problem is when I want to have a dynamic (one that is not a 'museum' and has the ability to change over time) neighborhood that is still roughly confined to a certain wealth level such as R$ or R$$.  In a mature city it is nearly impossible to create truly realistic neighborhoods, because the game will tend to develop a strange mixture of mansions next to trailer parks-- and then eventually all mansions. In every real-life city there are low-wealth districts as well as high, and it would be great to plop a lot that would put a local wealth cap on a given radius.   Thanks again for your help!

you turnoff the historical button when the area is full of R$$$....put the R$ and R$$ in other cities and use the tax rate to keep them out then

no need for a mod.... EDIT: Please keep it civil ~Hordijk~

there are plenty of parks on the STEX that do both of these things already hun....try search the parks or mod section of the BAT and LOT section.

there are very radical ones to slightly altered ones....too many to list....try a few of them out in a sandbox region or use the SC4Tool program to check their stats or even edit a lot yourself to do these things

ps...weaknesspayss is olsd and very time consuming way of making money

One trick I have used in low density areas (stage 3 and below) that I only want low and medium wealth residents is to simply not give them any water. They complain, but zero high wealth folks will move in guaranteed.

This doesn't work if you want medium or high density buildings though, since those require water to develop at all wealth levels. Not a perfect solution, but it does help for the middle class 'burbs'.

Tolomar,
One thing that helps when you reply to a post is to read it thouroughly so that, if you wish to post a reply, you post something that is relevant to the question being asked.  I am looking to, as i stated (in my second post), cap the wealth levels (i.e. NO $$$) of neighborhoods, local areas, not entire cities-- which any amateur knows how to do.  There are plenty of parks that can increase desireablity for $$$; I haven't found any that will stunt the growth of $$$ and only allow $ and/or $$ within a given radius.  I guess I could always put a coal power plant in the middle of the locality, which would be a crude way of doing what i wanted.  Thanks anyways.

The7trumpets: great idea for lower-density neighborhoods!

i make cities like this all the time ...i always have sections where i have R$ in one area...R$$ in another and a third area for R$$$ in one city..buy using the methods I discribed above, and I really don't consider myself an expert player vs some of the others on the board edit

the wealth level sims like to gather together in groups naturally..R$$$ together...R$$ together...R$ together the only way to keep a city with groups such as these is to play the game

but to make a mod such as you are asking for ..i don't think it is possible, it's been asked for before....and Tinker said that you can't make a mod of this sort...and i take his word over anyones about modding the game in any fashion, barring Andrea Roth and Simien say it been newly discover

if you want a city such as this instantly try plopable RES building, and take a few pictures but get the anti dilapitation mod, you'll need as res plopables don't function properly

telling ya the only way to truely do it is to play the game with using the historical button and playing with the taxes in conjution with other cities in the region

even 7 didn't offer a mod..he one of the masters too... only ways is playing your game to achive this goal using the methods i told you about

I agree, weaknesspays is simply worthless.  If someone wanted a lot of cash, they should just download the Cousin Vinnie ordinance, which gives you 200 grand a month, with no cons.19.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 19.gif src=https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/19.gif width=15 border=0>  Besides, you must learn to suffice without loads of money to splurge on landmarks and the like.  I admit that I downloaded the Cousin Vinnie5.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 5.gif src=https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/5.gif width=15 border=0>modd, but that was after I established a bustling city.  Sorry for the off-topic posts earlier!45.gif'); height=15 alt=Insert smilie 45.gif src=https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/45.gif width=15 border=0>  I'll try to remember it next time!44.gif'); height=20 alt=Insert smilie 44.gif src=https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/44.gif width=33 border=0>

You start with a small with a certain capacity, and when you city grows it gets full capacity and you earn a med airport. I think it should be the same with the university ! Whether you have a 20,000 ppl city or a 1,000,000 ppl city, your university size and capacity doesnt change !! How uneralistik 7.gif!

So if someone can make a mod to do that, I'd be very happy !

Hi modders,
Can anyone of you improve the networkaddon so that it allows making a bigger roundabout then the one-way street one? The current one-way street roundabout can only allow a 1 by 1 lot at the center. I would like to see a larger one that allows 2
*2 or 3*3 lot at the center.

thanks
