People what I want most right now is a simple thing and have not found the way. Add a tool Forest improved.
 
In this picture you guys can see that I added in photoshop an icon for the result of which would be the MOD.
He must have these characteristics:
  • Maximum density in a single click, without having to click 4 times in the same place.
  • Be 10 times greater than the current ratio.
  • Be 20 times more expensive per click than the current (§ 50 to § 1000)
  • Do not replace the existing tool, but add one to the side as in the picture.

What I found:

 
In my view this texture map is a way to paint the trees in the brush tool. But I'm not sure and I can not import successfully, so that open in Photoshop, is only open in Paint. When you import BMP says it is, but renomiei with PNG and DDS and did not work in Photoshop. Even with the original extension BMP. I left everything blank and then all in black and had no change in the result of the density of painting. Both times, he painted a few trees, so I believe that the amount of trees and density of the forest depends on the numbers in the investigated variables.
 
The variables, honestly I did not understand and did not find anything. I do not know where or how to clone and duplicate the button Forest, and make this additional button for the my MOD on inside of menu.
 
What I found, for example, and i di'nt understand:
 
Any help is welcome.
 
And I'm quite open to help any of you with design creating buttons, logo, banners, textures for 3d models, textures dds, etc.. That I am expert designer.

 

 

I know it's been a long time. But someone figured out how to do it or have any ideas?

Hi,

 

two bugs:

 

1) When I tried to add property for a certain property file, simcitypak 0.3.1.0 always crashes when I try to do so.

2) When I am searching for a key using some property ID, it always crashes.

 

To be exact, I was modifying the property  group 0x40e0c600 instance 0xdf88e6c0 in SimCity-Scripts_287520926.package. I am trying to have high wealth residents also uses buses for transportation.

Please help me! What am I doing wrong? Or mirror UV-maps will inevitably cause a glitch for the lights on meshes with normal maps? Example on images below:

ADDED 03 june 2014:

If you try to export model ID 0xc7c12969 (or any other railway path) to wavefront.OBJ format, SimCityPak crashes with an error "CLR20r3" (53809df7; System.Core; 4.0.30319.33440; 5200436c; 43e; 4d; System.InvalidOperationException; OS Version 6.3.9600.2.0.0.256.48; Language code: 1049).

I can't search..when I click the search function it crashes.. as a matter of seaking i cant get it to work hardly at all

I'm 'tryimg' to make bus stops that work outside of the 2k radius. And adhere to the plop points unlike the BOC mod that let's you plop anywhere...

I have problems with an array of keys. If I change an existing key, the generated data is corrupt. If I then save, close and re-open the package, an error is displayed instead of the instance with the edited array. If I open SimCity with the corrupted package, it doesn't start.

 

What can I do to prevent the corrupted data?

I used a valid key, at least other elements of the same array have the key I tried to set.

If you want, I'll tell you the package, instance, property, index and both old and new keys.

     I am looking too do a lot of building mods (reallife) and have the simpak, where do i go to find the values for the building i need? Example, going to make a gamestop but need to find the base model for the building plus all the values to enter the wealth type of the building and the job type ex. $, $$, $$$.

Basic Modding Tutorial

 

For a new building, you may need

 

1. Blender/3Ds Max

2. Any image editing tools (photoshop etc)

3. In depth knowledge of how the in game scripting/rules/properties works

Walmart, sear, a&p, harley motorcycle showrooms, gamestop, martins food store, peebles, car lots, just to name a few. thinking of adding them all into one pack and uploading them. i would appreciate to have a experienced modder as a teacher.

@jamesklinestiver .. the process is not seamless.  We have a working team that works on 3D / 2D / Scripts / Conversion and art to create working .packages for the community from the modding teams.

You are very welcome to get involved.. we need people with experience in 3ds, javascript and know how to just have fun by getting involved.

 

This is about teamwork and community efforts.

I'd like to have some info about multiple mods interpretation in-game. How interfering instances are treated by the game?

 

I need to know this because I'd like to create some mod-bricks, in order to let users build the version of my mod they like by downloading and using different packages.

I'm having massive issues trying to get this to work. I cant view property files, cant load correct language files (just asks me to check the LoaderExceptions file for more info which I cant see). I also read that some users had success after publishing the project themselves within vs2010, I tried to do this as well and this wont work as its looking for some kind of System.Data.SQLite.

 

Can anyone help, I've been beating my head against a brick wall trying to get this running. Any help is greatly appreciated.

@reReticulated Spline: Yeah I watched that while trying to load the Instance names etc, did a fresh install, tried to build the project myself in vs2010 and still no joy. Seems my pc falls under the category of some of the other users on here and it just wont work. Its not through people's lack of trying, even oppie couldn't figure out some of these strange errors. I'll keep my fingers crossed I can use it in the future and just keep track of new SimCityPak releases to try.

First of all, it's looks like your Normal Map is incorrect. You should invert the "Y".

FYI we are waiting on oppie to free up some time to work on some bugs and improvements to SCP.  He's been extremely busy and hopefully will have time in the next week or so.  I know he told me 2 weeks 3 weeks ago but his schedule is so all over the place its hard for him to cut out time for the SCP while he is working on multiple things

 

Hopefully we will be able to look forward to a 4.1 and more soon

I'm extremely uncomfortable, have absolutely no confidence to the point of paranoia when it comes to modding in ANY game which is why I never tried. I can work around almost all of the games weaknesses(poor AI and behind the scene math) but if the only change I wanted to make was to double the amount of goods each lvl and density of  commercial buildings produced, what would I have to do? What would I use and what file would contain such info. Obviously someone called Nikolai has managed to do it but a few people have apparently tried speaking to him to alter some of his mods and he's either ignored them or outright refused. Whatever floats his boat is all I can say. If It's something as simple as opening the mod tool, opening the file containing the basic info and altering a few numbers, (like you'd do in some mods like the ones used in CIv4 where you simply open the file in wordpad or some such, edit the values, save the file, close it the either import it or replace the original file with the altered one) I can do that. Certainly helped get rid of that annoying Global warming crap in CIV 4 lol. Anything more complicated and fuggetaboudit!

I downloaded this and got stuck on the very first step of figuring out which directory was needed for what in the configuration, and I never saw anything on YouTube about how to populate that information.

I'll wait until it's a bit more advanced and ties all those bits together for us during installation.  ILivesReader for SimCity 4 was a heck of a lot easier for me to figure out.

Hi,

 

I have read the tutorial for SimCityPak. I have open the "Simcity_Game.package", selected the "Property file" and after opening the "Pedestrian Path", i have an error "Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information". Can you me help to solve the problem? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys!

 

Could anyone tell me how to edit 0x622b9cd7 "The Global file" (using version 4.0.0) without it causing the Game to crash? seems the compression is lost after edit. But so is it for all other .package files you edit, is it not?

OS X (Mac) support. I would like to contribute to making this tool cross platform. How can I do this? I know .NET open sourced their stuff so it will compile on MAC/Linux.
