    @Sciurus- Thanks! (:

    @libellibicus- I won't be BATTING those simultaneously! :b

    @Haljackey- Thanks for that! And yeah tomorrow or so I will start featuring Ontario downloads that are created by non-OCT members. I was busy all day and didn't get much accomplished! haha

    @yuuka221- Thanks! haha

    @Xander Dax- Yeah, I actually made a mock-up of it! The structure is quite nice, and this photo also includes the Scotia Bank Tower mock-up. At this point I have no intention to BAT either for two reasons...

    1) Scotia Bank Tower is already in Simcity 4, and for the first few months we're avoiding recreations of the recreated!

    2) Oxford Place I and II are still in proposal mode. More renders and photos will be needed to determine more of the structure. It's why I held onto the New World Trade Centre for so long... details change, photos change, and so I prefer to wait at least until there's a more solid foundation for reference!

    Quickie_zpsf8a2fa79.jpg

    @Andrey km- I still haven't sent to files to Cockatoo yet, I haven't gotten around to anything really. Internet is slow, laggy, and intermittent out in the countryside... It kind of sucks, but it's better than nothing! haha, So whenever I successfully upload it to MediaFire.

    @pineapple132- Thank you! haha

    @Frex_Ceafus- Thanks (:

    @dubaidude303- Thanks, that means a lot! haha

    @shinkansen1- I think it's my next residential after Ritz-Carlton! (:

    @patat- I agree that the building is beautiful... and in my personal opinion it looks like an easy one too! Whenever I get the inspiration I shall do it (:

    RITZ-CARLTON TORONTO

    RitzCarlton-Comp-003_zps1ca54267.jpg

    So I really didn't do a whole lot here but add the glass. The glass are just planes from the original mock-up. Thought I'd utilize them, but now the floors are in I can capitalize on better dimensions rather than guessing where the 20th floor is.

    BAY ADELAIDE CENTRE

    Didn't actually get to do any work, but here's an old render! :b

    Thinning the frames and making more embedded cladding to be cleaner and smoother is on the list of things to do with the tower (:

    BACSkyRender001_zps119d037a.jpg

    I still haven't linked the downloads to this thread yet! haha

    But I have a good idea! I think when I re-edit the download pages tomorrow I will be including the tag "#OCT" in each and every one of them... this way anyone interested in downloading Ontario Creation Team material can simply type #OCT into the STEX search bar and see every OCT creation! haha... I'm a genius! >:)

    I know I told everyone that I was going to post the midrise wishlist and include 3 non-OCT downloads in my next post... but I'm going to procrastinate because I'm incredibly tired and hopefully post it tomorrow! (:

    Salutos!

    kellydale, where did you get that real life picture of Bay Adelaide Centre :) ? Maybe I was a little bit tired when I first saw the recreation, but I really though it was a real life picture of the building.

    Amazing job, you did a great work on the glass reflection of that building. Long live the Ontario Creation Team !

    REPLIES

    @dubaidude303- I'm not usually excited to BAT a building, I just really enjoy the process of building it... but for the Ritz-Carlton I'm actually excited to finish and export this one! :b

    @Altus- I really enjoy hearing that! Thanks (:

    @IL.- The current glass is based off of mid-winter photographs, but the actual end result shall be something blue green similar to this... (:

    59784430.jpg

    @santybro- Thanks! And Thanks for making your first posts ever in this thread (:

    @Aaron Graham- I love the Ritz-Carlton, what can I say? :b

    @Bastet69008- haha thanks... glad it looks pretty close to the real thing (:

    @pineapple132- Thanks! I don't know where I went from an uncredited guy to one of the most amazing Batters... but thanks! lol

    @wnsghks42- No actually, but I know what you mean! Both Yongsan and the Oxford Towers are similar! But I plan on doing the Oxford towers... I guess at this point it's architects stealing work from other architects! haha

    YONGSAN IBC

    I guess architecture is like a Hollywood movie! If you can make it better... it's like an original idea.

    @paulvmontfort- That's a beautiful photo! Thanks for that! (: I myself have visited the 114th floor of the CN tower and also visited the sky pod of the tower! I took photos with my Canon (which got stolen)... I can't remember where I stored the photos, but I appreciate this! Because I remember taking similar photos of this. But as you can see the different flooring in the building. I plan to roughly recreate the inside of the tower also! So I've got textures from Arroway and armed myself! > :)

    Untitled-1-1_zpsc04171ca.jpg

    @andisart- The Oxford place is only a quick mock-up right now... the real thing will be officially announced in the near future when more things are out of the way and more renderings are given (:

    RITZ-CARLTON TORONTO

    So AGAIN I've procrastinated... so here's what I've got! And I still haven't done any presentive work about non-OCT creations because I finally caught up with what I said I was going to do yesterday! haha... With my intermittent internet, I can't upload anything to any members. I spent all day figuring that out, so tomorrow will be a mad torrent day! lol

    but here's another ingame scale test with what I've done so far (:

    REPLIES

    @Xander Dax- TDC will be taken over by Jasoncw and Cockatoo... but Cockatoo hasn't responded to my message for torrenting the scene files.

    @dubaidude303- Thanks (:

    @Gn_leugim- Thank you! haha

    @Yukky1986- Yeah I actually want to remake the CN Tower in the future... I don't think it should take HOURS AND HOURS to make. It seems pretty simple and straight forward, it will be the texturing that will be a challenge more than the modelling itself IMO.

    @skyscraper241- Actually in the Materials Editor (Press "M") and go to "Utilities" and press "Reset Material Editor Slots". This will reset the materials that are in the Materials Editor Window without deleting the textures already in the scene. Make sure your textures are named and not just with default names... otherwise you'll end up getting a lot of materials with the same name. And if you need to get a material back to re-edit you can use the "Get Material" button (The first button on the left above the Material's name). This way is a little bit inefficient, but I can't get used of the Slate Material Editor, this is why my mode is always in the Compact Material Editor! haha

    DCMETRO34
    So it seems like I'm the only one on the team and all... but DCMetro34 actually has an exciting project coming up! It's something I can't really do, so he's going to be doing it... and personally I'm excited for it! ^_^ It should be coming along this weekend or so! But he'll reveal and officially announce it! (:

    RITZ-CARLTON

    So for the Ritz-Carlton... I initially started it when I had no internet. So I called my mother whom I asked for information on the tower... She told me the wrong number of floors! ._.

    When I compared it to a real-life building I noticed it was off! So I'll be fixing this problem tonight! Kind of embarrasing really... Guess the last person I should be asking for correct information is my mother whom probably got it off Wikipedia or something! haha
    RitzCarlton-Comp-004_zps8f9e9325.jpg

    But anyways I keep on getting requests for the CN Tower (which I believe is the tallest tower in the Western World)... So here's a quick mock-up scale test of how it would look in the game at 120%. It will still probably be awhile before I work on the real thing (:

    IskovikRiver-Jan1621351737486_zps409146c

    So the reason why I didn't post the past few days is because of Simtropolis maintenaince, then some glitch that prevented me from posting, then the internet needing reservicing (because of an owl problem)... Internet is not the greatest out in the country! haha

    BAY ADELAIDE CENTRE

    So I was working on Bay Adelaide Centre today and managed to make a dent in progress... I'll post a render tomorrow!

    My main focus is currently making this part of the facade realistic... ( I managed to find street views, but no official floor plans or anything.)
    werwe_zps33515717.jpg

    Not many people know that Bay Adelaide Centre already has a sibling in the making!
    Here it is on the left...
    urbantoronto-7008-23355_zpse7819173.jpg

    ^Simple design, nothing to fancy; Definitely something worth BATTING! Especially since the tallest tower of the complex is nearing completion for Simcity 4.

    When I was doing my research I couldn't help but come across a somewhat funny photo...

    gfh_zpsa1b18816.jpg

    ^You're probably wondering what I think is so funny here... Well it's the Trump International Hotel & Tower right against the Bay Adelaide Centre! Trump didn't develop this tower, but instead sold his name to a developer as permission to build the residential hotel skyscraper using his name. I don't know about you guys... but I wouldn't want a 4-star hotel room looking straight into an office floor with a couple hundred people just metres away! haha.. I would imagine the condominiums in the Trump I.H.T. probably sold less than asking price... but then again Toronto's Condo Boom hasn't made anything incredibly cheap in Downtown Toronto lately! haha.

    Trump is famous for his Hotels in New York... mainly because he owns the air rights to the buildings in immediate locality of his tallest hotels (which at the end of the day make for it's amazing views)... This was just a complete fail... and sad part is... his name is on the fail! Oh well! hahah

    So I leave you all with a pretty photo of Canada's most populous city's skyline! (:

    *nervously steps to microphone* :P

    Hey there! :)

    I have a lot of ideas for creating the automata or Ontario, and what better place to start than Toronto's streetcar system?  I've reskinned one of Vester's trams to mirror some of Toronto's new streetcars set to hit the streets.

    I plan on adding some more fine details, and maybe altering the colors ever so slightly, and of course modifying a few ILive Reader values here and there.  I'd also like to implement my own custom icons for the UDI menu (which I have not figured out how to do, if any has any pointers, please enlighten me :P ).  Barring approval from Vester, this one's nearly there! :)

    ttc-new-streetcar-1-front.jpg

    I have a rough version that I just tested (literally 3 minutes ago) to see how the colors looked in-game (much similar to the testing of textures on BATs in-game).  I ran into a few texture problems because I had a messed up alpha, but I have now updated all the images with the non-glitched version. :)

    EDIT: Found the fix!!! (8 February 2013, 12:04 EST) :)

    Here's some images for you guys:

    I had the impression that the Maxis version of the CN tower was made completely wrong. But having never been outside of the Seattle metro area (literally), I would not know better.

    REPLIES

    Well since I'm kind of tired of saying Thank You individually... THANK YOU ALL :b

    @shinkansen1- I believe the maxis version is 100%... but orthographic views from above make the building look squished. The theory is that anywhere between 120% - 133% is the correct compensating scale... I personally prefer 120%, so it's why I bat in 120% and so do many others (:

    @skyscraper241- No problem! (:

    BAY ADELAIDE CENTRE

    So I did more progress... more research than progress at this point. I've been going through the archived forums of the Bay Adelaide Centre construction and I'm finding more and more details which I can incorporate into the building. At the time I had created the building I had only a few under construction photos, a notepad of basic information, and very little to work with. So I'm pretty much just playing catch-up at this point (:

     - One of my main points is to fix the noise on the glass... mix it up, adjust, tweak... whatever it takes to make the building look better. Because at the moment the windows almost look like pixels haha :b

    BAC2_zps4176d497.jpg

    ^The night details of the lobby may look a little bland in real life... but I'll do my best to get both worlds of depicted realism and busyness of which IMO the lobby should lean more towards to.

    - The perspective render was rendered using the typical LTBL settings instead of RL settings... So this is why it doesn't look as pretty as it should. As for the lobby glass I just used a lattice and for the connection pieces in the glass I purposely made them abnormally large so this can show up better in Zoom 4 renders. I originally had the original trees on the lot as the real life building... but the architecture of the trees made themselves look so miniscule and under scaled compared to the building... So in response I used a different tree that better suits the overall lot.

     - And I don't think I'll be rendering the lot texture along with this BAT. I was thinking about it the other day and wished I could re-edit SImfox's and realized that someone could probably wish the same for me! :b So I'll replace the Lot texture with a maxis texture but unrenderable to the camera... this way it reflects in the glass (:

    As for Ontario.... Well... Projects just keep getting bigger and bigger!
    Here's a project already under construction in the neighboring city of Toronto...
    redefined_zpscfafc55c.jpg

    It's definitely going to change the Mississauga skyline! haha
    20111007131_zps75df6d36.jpg

    I think after the Ritz or BAC (Bay Adelaide Centre) I'm going to do a residential... so far either Aura or this baby is intriguing me!...

    7839513986_8a87eca629_b_zpsf64a989b.jpg

    But for now... Gotta leave you another pretty picture! :b
    Dundus_Square_zps128ce49c.jpg

    I should have night photos of Bay Adelaide Centre by the time I post... I'll be doing BAC like I've never done any building! (:
