Perhaps I am.... Ah... are you interested in the public estates in Hong Kong? They can be classified into different types, but i'd like to introduce what is public estate first...

In the early times, when Hong Kong was still ruled by the British Government... It decided to build large complexes that composed with many towers in order to  fulfill the sharp population increase. The complexes are meant to be sell sufficient ( with markets, recreational facilities etc.) but not to be costly as it is build for the public. This plan was then achieved sucess and can be found in Hong Kong everywhere! They are extreamly common in new towns and the building design is improving and become diverser.

Well, I'd better show you some pictures:

Early design in the late 1970's:

designs in the 1990's:

newly developed designs in this years:

Actually all Hong Kong public estates comes in similar designs, but in different colour, heights and the no. of  towers....

sorry for being late to fix the pictures....

I'd rather use links instead

*** How do you get the Arch grow? I marked 6X6 (pressed control key already) but every time I only got your Sham Wan towers instead of the Arch.

Also I 've found that the Liberte Complex is also difficult to grow even the demand is full.

It grew by luck actually 3.gif, that website is really cool by the way, I don't understand hardly any of it but I still found it pretty easy to find new pictures. Those buildings really have me inspired; which means I'm just going to have to make more of them. Hahahahah!

I got a strange request, I need a clear printed characters from this image. Preferably black on white, like a simple font. + I need to know what it says lol. That way I can put it in3D Max for the building. Please Jesselong or HONG KONG, print here the characters, or upload clean image.

XDesign_Team: Those both look cool. I might do the Summit, it looks like my style. Arch has 7500+ something occupants for the R$$ I believe.

Here's what I made so far, from the photo references Jesselong posted. Of course its far from finished.

OK. Spent some more time on it, here's what I got so far, I will add some extra detail, and more irregularities to certain rooms like shown from the photo references, here they are up against Zaidi Apartments? I will work more on the roof, make it look better. I think I scaled that ladder too small. Pretty scarey towers eh? heheh.

Green looks a tad too colorful, I think I will grey it down just a tad.

Here's a try, with size of 160 and gif file. I separate the fonts into 3 files as there will be flexibility when you paste the wordings on to the wall. The font colour is R:60 G:0 B:50 so it's not completly black. See if it needs adjustment or I'll upload the files into this post.

Aha! You may want know how to prnouns this complecated Chinese words...

Only short time away and so many marvelous new things.  I have soon only your residential buildings in the Plugin.  That does not disturb me however9.gif. Some more pencil towers would be cool anyway.

Ack! A maze of high-rise apartments! Still can't get Liberte to grow at all... Good thing that you show us that these are possible to grow Bix!

Oh my god, you are a MONSTER! Those towers look superb, although it's not Zaidi apartments you're comparing them to... I agree about the green, it's a bit too saturated. The rest, however, is awesome as ususal. Some mobile communications antennae on the roof (or satellite dishes) and some wiring and other junk would look great, I guess. Boy, are these realistic!

Btw, I have your other towers on my HD, but haven't had the time to do anything on them yet. Jason's Wagner & Diehl Building and some MAPP stuff was first, and I hope to get Paul's Janne Toren at least half done today...

Saw it but actually it does hold more residents, maybe up to 7000 to 8000 something....

I've an suggestion... Why don't you group the public estates into volume to release, as they can be made so quickly and they have similar models?

After searching for more HK Estates (I found a bunch), I found another one call Hing Tung Estate, Eastern District. Its was so similar to the Kwai Chung that I decided to quickly make it. Here's what I got so far. I will change roof more, and also I need to saturate the blue a tad, but all in all its very close to the Hing Tung Estate.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHH!!!!

OMG, Very very very nice, once again.

Small idea : (maybe I'm asking too much of you), but isnt it possible to add some laundry (lines) here and there ? maybe some stains on the walls, dirty airco's and some other irregularities to give an even more realistic look.

It might be worth looking into it, if its not too much trouble.

I'm no Bat-ter myself so I dont know if its just too hard, too much work or just simply impossible.

Anyway, Keep up the excellent work..!

Hey guys,

I'm a big fan of the Hong Kong skyline and also a fan of your work.  I was very pleased to see that you brought two of my favourite buildings in the world to life in SC4.  Central Plaza and The Centre are what I am talking about.  You guys did those perfectly.  I'm sure I will find a way to put them into Palm Point.

However, I have gotten a few of your older buildings to grow in my larger residential areas, and I have to say they look great in this particular area.

Thanks!  And keep up the great work.

Great picture there, DragonAnime! Oneil's Angel's Creek (it is Angel's Creek, or am I wrong? The blue one I mean anyway) looks great as well!

The sight of akwx128's Antarian Condos (the tall white one with the blue roof to the left) reminds me that the same BATter has also uploaded a superb, but unrendered mid-wealth residential tower to the STEX, "Paranash Apartments". Here's the link:
https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=12691

I think it perfectly matches the residential tower thing you got going right now - maybe someone can revive that great model?

Otherwise, just keep going - it's fantastic to see all this residential stuff after so many commercials have been done already. 4.gif

rabanne: I do plan on doing some older stuff from the 80's maybe so far back as the 70's. I have been reviewing A LOT of HK residentials, the towers above are call Harmony Blocks (Plus sign buildings). These new ones from 1990-2000+ always never seem to have the dirty aspect to them, though they have some odds and ends...like replaced AC units, as seen above, or some wiring cables. The old blocks or Slab Blocks as they call them will have laundry lines that is typical for that style and wealth class.

[edit] Oh and I forgot, the reason why no laundry lines is becuase there are no balconies, but I promise, then next building I have balconies on with get laundry lines. THEY WILL BE THERE!!!

Another great mystery solved, Laundry on a line ! YAY!  (although, now I wonder, do all the people without a balcony automatically have their own dryer ? And if not, then...how DO they dry their laundries?) Ponder..... ponder, .......ponder.....42.gif

I'll cut the crap, just wanted to add that you're doing really great! Not only on the buildings themselves, but also the speed at which you produce/BAT them.

And again: Keep going !

Fantastic job on the public estate... but I think you can do more a bit on the base of the estates, as they looked like unfinshed...

When I first saw the Lippo Centre in-game, I thought "How can this possibly get any better? It's top-notch" Paul, you've really went above and beyond the call of duty with this one! It just keeps getting better and better and better and... Oh you get the idea... 3.gif
