How can I get more of NOB's bats. I saw several pics of some great port BATS (submarine factory, ferry terminal, etc.) posted from NOB here ~ http://homepage2.nifty.com/kamurai/simcity/log7.htm

None of these BATs are on his website though ~ http://www1.megaegg.ne.jp/~tokitoko/  

Anyone know if these BATs are available for download? They sure do look sweet!!!

I got a PM from Yugioh saying that the the port can be found on the Sim City for Rush Hour site in Japan. Is it possible to download files from that site? Any way I am going to give it a shot and see if I can come up with anything.

I exchanged messages with Kei on his forum and he said he did not make the ships and that the person who did is no longer playing the game or part of the community. If anyone has these older ship files and sees this please share them if you can. Thanks ~ its a shame because ship bats are hard to come by unless they are navy types.

The problem is here the original files never were on the STEX, one is allowed to upload a modifyed lot or bat to the STEX that has been posted there by a user without prior consent aslong as proper credit is given. Though i do recomend getting permission from the original creator anyway, its common courtisy.

 

But these ships werent uploaded to the STEX, and they obide by the rules of whomever hosted them before. Wich they obviously dont anymore, so getting permission is quite important, even if there canot be any Punishment for whoever uploads the work to the STEX.(Not that i can think of anyway...

Man this topic seems to be everywhere around here right now, I asked about the ferry lot long time ago the site  no longer exists. I know I have shared my copy of the rude boy menu pack via email, however I was able to get through to rude boy first. As for posting something that someone made to share with others and no longer is around I say credit them and do what it was intended and share it. If it was mine I and I posted something to share and make the game better I would want people to have it, but I am still learning BAT poorly I might add, but I have no ego I simply believe that they where there to share and so sharing is what it is about. It is kinda like an owner of a company dies, the company doesn't die too, someone takes what he has built and continues it (with credit of course). or maybe a public libraries few contributers many takers, contributers are credited and copies are enjoyed by all.

I would like to say thank you to all who have made the game better and I hope that at some point I will be able to contribute something too, but until them I thank you all for your works.

In my mind ... if a model is abandoned by it's creator ... that means it is no longer hosted on the original server and the creator cannot be contacted ... and then such model is posted on the STEX ... I will not remove it unless the creator himself requested it to be removed.

 

But hey ... that is my opinion and what I will do ... reality is this ... the great feeding frenzy on SC4 is over ... it is 3 years down the tracks and many of the BATTERS have moved on to new things. So I feel why should we penalise ourselves by depriving us of good work that has gone astray.

Among others, Ardecila has mentioned having that set. He calls the creator National Aviation Club Member and has uploaded a couple of his other works to the STEX already. Hope there's no offense in singling out Ardecila - if he doesn't feel comfortable uploading it, that's his prerogative and no hard feelings. Several other people in this thread have mentioned having it but I just didn't have the patience to look back through 48 pages and Ardecila was one that I remembered...

As I read the posts about those lost BATs (download source closed or whatever reason),  I keep on noticing this major difference in opinion between people here in Simtropolis and those original creators in SimCityForce.

People in SimCityForce thinks that emailing BATs must be allowed, or even promoted. Of course, those BATs have credits about who made it, but no rigid copyrights.

The ship lots, in question, are named Sim Gyon Bon Port and Seikan Ferry Terminal.  I have both lots, plus many other ship lots by the same person.  Although his site is no longer active and he is no longer active in the Sim community, it would take Dirk or one of the Admins to agree, before I would upload any of these lots.
