Blackburn Tower took a bit longer than I was expecting it to, and so for April I'd like to do something a little faster, so that I have more time to work on other projects.  And what better way to do a fast BAT than to update one of my older ones?

April's BAT will be an updated version of my

    Here's the progress so far:

If you guys use this BAT, can you describe or post pics of how you typically use it?  I'd like to redo the lot, and this information will help me later on.  I'm either going to keep it mainly grass, or I'll make it mostly plaza with some smaller rectangular sections of grass.  It depends on if it's usually used in commercial areas as a small civic plaza, or if it gets used in residential neighborhoods as a community park.  I'll be keeping the lot size 4x4 so that it's easy to replace the old version.

I use it in a commercial setting, so a Plaza would be perfect for me

I typically use these lots in dense or semi-dense urban settings, as it's one of the only library models applicable to such a location. Also, completely out of context here, but seeing as you (Jasoncw) are one of the most prolific and notable BATers around, I figured I should ask you this: How come no one adds people to their BATs? I always feel as though the majority of BATs are desolate and abandoned.

This is totally off-topic, unrelated and irrelevant, but I still need to get this off my chest: When I read Darknono35's comment, I realised how I briefly flinched at the words "glass box". Fortunately, they are used in a different context here.

I think I need stronger pills... :uhm:

I just used this BAT in my city! Would it be possible to have two versions? A plaza lot and a more grass style lot. I like to use this BAT as a university building but also in a more urban setting. :)

    I'll be back one day.

Here's the day version exported and lotted:

    i6wjHRM.png

I think I'm pretty happy with the lotting in general. I might add a few small things here and there.

What do you guys think about the trees? Should I use one of the other street trees instead?

Also, I think it would be easy enough for me to make both a plaza and park version, so I'll be doing that. :)

This is an beautiful update for the library. I, think the trees choice isn't a problem, player can change the type of trees with flora mod and otherwise with the lot editor.

But maybe you can create your own trees, and add them on the plaza. Like this we can have more trees variety in the game :)I say this because I'm working on the trees right now

Well, keep it up on this, it will be great like always ;)

The trees look fine, and as Darknono says: They can be changed using a tree mod (or the LE) easily should anyone not like them.

The lot is simple but effective, IMO it complements the building perfectly. Maybe some lampposts and/or one of those modern fountain/sculpture thingies might look good?

    I like it!

Though I would have liked most with the white tiles instead, so that my mod changes them to asphalt, instead of having to relot the building.. :P ( as the texture you used on the lot is the one used on airports I can't change it through my mod.)

It's somehow funny to see that ornate "Greek temple" entrance in combination with the ordinary shoebox shape behind. I like it, though. Is it made from scratch or based on something real?
