OK, I found the CTD problem: the game doesn't like to have Ümlauts in the descriptions. One certain lamp type from the Imaginian set was called "Näde-Andaluh". That's why the game crashed. A fix is attached below.

    Hey maarten,

I've got the mod working, but it broke my nightlighting on custom BATS for some reason... Can you please help me as soon as you can, thanks.

    Hello Mrtnln :)

I'm working on reloting the original Maxis lots and some of your street lights will be excellent additions, especially the Belgium style. May I use them please? Of course I'll add a link of your mod as a dependency.

Hey, Mrtnrl. Great mod, just wanted to report 2 bugs. One, With the Nam Flup Pedmall peices in place behind a coal power plant with this mod, I saw the peices in front of the power plant. Also, 2, When using this mod, Buddybuds jerronij concrete wall addon walls look EXTREMELY bright. Other than that, nice work. Oh, and Maybe you could make MMP lights that can be placed on roads and RHW. Just a thought.

Any progress on the colored lights issue?

I'm interested in this as well. Otherwise, amazing mod. Thanks a million.

Is there anyway to have different color lights? I am using the USA style lights and they all emit a white light, whereas in real life most USA lights are amber or orange colored. I used to use a Uniform Light mod that gave me all these great light colors, but this mod offers me uniformity with my light posts across wealths, but only white lights. Am I missing something?

I actually prefer white colored lights over amber or orange colored lights. But an option for light color would be recommended by me also.

I noticed the immense brightness of some BATs too. This is how my bikepaths look, for example:

    lrm.png

Also, sometimes, the alleyways behind row homes are even brighter than the streets:

    lrm2.png

It's a pity, because apart from this, it's a very good mod.

The brightness problem is linked with the bridge lights: many BAT's use them, and some went overboard with them. Compare the brightness level of the default bridge lights with the LRM one, and you'll where the problem is. Some Maxis lots use them as well it seems, which explains why some street sections will look unusually bright.

Is there any file I can delete so sunken highway walls do not light up on top? Just looks way too bright...

By rotating the Berlin-Prenzlau street light, one of the views is bugged :(

Can you please fix it? I really like this street light and I want to use it in my lot.

I've notice that all T21 Street Side Mods have stopped working after installing the LRM. Is there any reason why? If possible, can there be a support file for this and any other street side mods?!

    @terring7: I'll look into that...

@aaaling: That would be too complex for now to realising. These streetside mods are quite complex and therefore a bit hard to mod...

Hi, I just downloaded the Windows Installer for 4.0 and it doesn't seem to install properly. None of the bugfixes on this page have corrected the problem, and I have reinstalled the mod 3 times.

The first two times, I went through and custom chose one of each streetlight in the installer, installed it. Then when I ran the game, all the streetlights were Dutch Brinasken lights, on every single network and weath level despite me not picking this one at all. I uninistalled, then tried the same thing only to have the same results.

The next time instead of custom installing I used one of the pre-made packs, Belgium Maxis Night. I ran the game and had the same problem, every single streetlight was the same green Brinasken and not the ones I chose.

I don't have any other streetlight mods to conflict, so I don't know what's going on...

That's odd. That shouldn't happen. It should install correctly, and I've seen multiple people installing this mod with success. Are you sure you don't have the LRM v3.0 installed?

Hi mrtnrln - I am attempting to grow a region from 1850 to the present day, so once I reach the 20th century I plan on using your LRM - but until then, do you know if it is possible to remove all streetlights? I ask because you are quite the expert in street lighting. Thanks!

It is possible to remove all streetlights. Just install all replacement DAT and remove the Resource Key Type entries of the exemplar. That will leave an empty prop. The prop is still there, but there is no model to show. At least it will not show a brown box.

    Best,

    Maarten

Thank you! One further question - I want to remove the lights from the streets and roads (all wealth levels), but after the install it looks like there are over 100 seperate .dat override files. Do I need to go into each file and remove the resource key? Or is there One .dat file that will replace all lights? Thanks!

I installed SimCity 4 a few weeks ago after a computer crash, so I had zero plugins and hard to start new. I am sure that no earlier version of the LRM mod is on there..

You might want to try out the dimmed versions of the steetlights. This will reduce the street light range for some of the streetlights, reducing the over-exposure effect. The cause is that lights are just placed too close to one another, resulting in this over-exposure effect.

Not quite. You could get Kodlovag's permission to use the Street Side Mod support file and then modify it so that it works with the LRM.

Sorry for this bump, I'm coming a little late to the party as always :uhm: One tiny "kinder-surprise" question: is there any flickering streetlights in this mod? Or do you know if this exists/is even possible to make?
