Do you have the JRJ Street Side Mod installed? This mod contains some lamp posts that look like the Maxis ones, but technically they aren't. They will only appear on streets.

Also, make sure you don't have the USL installed.

Well, turn on the nightlights. The I can see it better. It doesn't look like it now, but I can only know for sure when I see a night-time view...

The only other conflicting mod I can think of is this one: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1604

Ok, so this mod definately isn't working - I am getting lamps and also the wooden-pole street lights in industrial areas. Is it possible there is a conflicting mod that you aren't aware of? I wonder if it is one of sithlrd's mods?

You are correct, the USL was hiding in my plugins. My plugins are usually very organised so I was surprised to see the USL in there. Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

I've only just picked up on this mod (the LRMv4 one) and it's a fantastic idea to add more variety to the cities.

May I suggest, there are some really special designs of streetlights from the UK back in the 1950's and 1960's which would make a wonderful addition to your lighting. There are the swan neck side road lights and the large flourecent tubes, and sometimes on concrete posts.

I would be happy to send you some pics/sketches for you or someone to work from.

Trust me - they will add a new and quite different look to what you already provide.

Thanka for all your hard work on this.

(sorry if this is on the wrong forum topic, but I'm new here and still have to learn how to drive round the website!!)

Version 5...didn't realise there was one until you mentioned it Mandlesoft !  However, is it a comprehensive set like version 4, or are they just individual packs of which ever country you want. (because I like to mix and match).

It may well still leave room for my suggestions anyway. Always room for more!  ;-)

No, it's not a mix and mash package, but several indivdual packages. However, of each of these packages only the override sets are incompatible with each other; you can use the plopable lights from other sets without any problems...

I changed the packaging and installation procedure because version 4.0 was one of the hardest too install mods (and hard to update when bugs occur). Besides, version 5.0 contains a whole bunch of new models!

    Oh, okay....

Can I just clarify a couple of things then please.

I wouldn't just want eg. German, or British, or USA etc. I do want to have the overides across my cities, but to have chosen some from each country for particular road type and wealth etc. So, if I go and use version 5, does this mean I will have to loose all the overides which I have in version 4? I'm guessing that V5 is fine if you just wan't one countries style lights only. Is this correct?

Finally (for now), what do you think of my suggestion to have the swan neck side street lights from the UK 40's and 50's era, although some remain today; and also the large flourecent tube lamps of the 50's 60's era ?   Would you like some pictures to work from as these really would add a new character to the streets and roads. :)

Well, there are two problems with that:

    1. IID allocation. I have to mix and match all IIDs in an IID-scheme (which is limited and may risk overriding Maxis props) for all streetlights. It takes up quite an amount of IID allocation space. Making more lamp post types means taking up more IID space...

    2. I can only control the appearance of lamps per network and wealth type and I need to do some huge T21 modification if I want to make them density and zone type dependent. Anything else will appear at random.

You can still mix the sets, but this requires quite some modification with the Reader. But its either that or a hard to understand and update installer...

So, what about the two types of street lighting that I mentioned - very worthy editions I think, and quite iconic of the British 50's and 60's era. Could this be of interest to you?

    Update notice
Today, April 14, 2013, all LRM sets are updated to version 5.1. This involves the following sets:

    What's new in v5.1:
    - Diagonal support for the NWM added
    lrmv51_diagonalsnwm1.jpg

    lrmv51_diagonalsnwm2.jpg

    - DragFAR support added
    - Support for new Dual RHW bridges added
    - Updated NWM layouts
    - Updated AVE-4 Roundabout layouts
    lrmv51_roundabouts.jpg

One more thing: make sure the LRM loads after Project Symphony (located in "z___NAM"). Otherwise you will see standard streetlight appearing on Symphony motorways. You could also delete "T21_MHW_MedianLights.dat" from cPlugins\z___NAM\Maxis Highway Override.dat"

    Best,
    Maarten

Okay... I'm completely stuck on this one.  Try as I might, I cannot get the pack to replace all of my Maxis lights, only most of them.  There's always a few stragglers on my streets.  If I bulldoze and rebuild the street, they appear elsewhere.  The only way to ditch them is to replace all streets with roads, and that's just silly.  Even if I remove all other plugins but the CAM and the NAM, this happens with the 4.0 Megapack or the 5.1 Belgium pack.  The poles themselves are slightly annoying, but the whole white light / amber light is what really makes it intolerable.  >.<

Edit: Interesting... if I delete the NAM folder, then the lights work as expected.  :???:

    Renamed (relevant) folders as follows:

    AA_CAM
    AB_Network Addon Mod

    AC_NAM (textures for NAM)

    ZZZZZZZZ_Light Replacement Mod

Still have extra lights stuck in there.

EDIT: Found the specific file.  If I delete NetworkAddonMod_Props.dat from the Network Addon Mod folder (and nothing else) everything loads as it should.

Any idea how to fix rather than just deleting the file?  You're a member of NAM... what exactly will that file effect if its not there?

Have you tried to put your LRM folder directly in the z_NAM folder? I noticed the z_NAM folder will always loads last, even if there are files with more "z" in the plugins directory

Another questions: which lights show up wrong? A picture would be helpful.

Also, it's not recommended to delete the NetworkAddonMod_Props.dat. I never needed to delete that file. I also spot no conflicts...

Seemingly without reason, some of the lights still appear as Maxis lights, rather than the replacements, with either Belgian/Paris:

    UwcFvh6.jpg

    Or UK/Paris:

    LkdHP0M.jpg

(Obviously much more noticeable with the soft orange glow of the Belgian lights.)

Also, I have a brown box for some reason (in the lower left).  It's in front of a CS§§§, despite me having LRMv4_Lights_ST_$$$_FR_VT2.dat installed.  (Across the street from a small plaza, if that makes a difference.)

And clearing my plugin folder of everything except: B_Network Addon Mod, bz_NAM, and Light Replacement Mod MegaPack, it still does it.

Magneto: Just did now, in fact.  Picture above was taken with that folder tree arrangement.

EDIT: Found the brown box.  It was a problem with nighttime and Daytime it works fine, but when it turns on, it goes to a brown box.  Replaced it with VT1 instead, although it wasn't my first choice.

Again, this is the LRM v4. That version is broken and no longer supported. Upgrade to version 5.1.

But for the streetlights that get replaced, I think I've found the bug: the new modified FAR lamp posts have the family prop exemplar ID as the regular streetlights, which means they get replaced at random. And this is not something I want to happen with the LRM. It's a more hard to spot conflict, but very easy to solve with a small patch, which I attached below. Installing this in the LRM folder will stop them from appearing on new streets (clicking around with the street tool will make all remaining props go away).

    Best,

    Maarten

5.1 (seems) to be less configurable though.  :(

That said, your suppression plugin works!  :D

Just for clarification, is that for LRM 4.0 or LRM 5.1? It SAYS LRM 5.0 but you said this is LRM v4. Is the patch LRM 4 or 5.1?? :)

    Hi Maarten!

First of all, thank you for sharing your work with us. Right now I'm enjoying your LRM with the Stoplight Replacement in DarkNite, and it's just beautiful.

I've got a question though that's at least somewhat related to the LRM, and I hope you don't mind helping me get on the right track :)

In my SC4 setup I used uroncha's but in my current installation I don't seem to get it to work. Since you mentioned an enhanced T21-setup in your documentation (regarding the Override Set.dat), I assume it's not possible to combine your mods, at least not without work on my side. Or maybe the problem is related to the new NAM, and the exemplar values changed? Or could I maybe incorporate the seasonal trees into the LRM? I'm a bit of a $%&^!, so please excuse me if I asked something stupid :D

    Marcus
